Car i have purchased has a Phillips car 400 cassete/radio fitted but wont work ...a red light keeps flashing where the word code is , how do i get a code to make the radio work ? Is it only available through the Vauxhall dealer ?

I have got mine through the local main dealer in the past. You may have to produce the receipt and bill for the car to prove legitimate ownership.

It should be nearer £15 than £50.

For me it was free, but that was about 10 years ago!

You could try and get it unlocked from some of those car shops that sell car radios if the car garages are too expensive? Here is another link for some other people who have had the same question to your one

The main dealer will usually want a reg number, which if its a second hand unit may prove difficult.

The next best option is an independent, who should charge around £15 for the job.
