Got to book it with your local dealer and it is limited to 300 miles, but they provide insurance with £250 excess.
Website is http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/home.do to see all small print etc.
Sounds worth a bash if you want to put 300 miles on someone else's car!
I can't do because they exclude certain professions such as entertainers because we're expensive to insure  but good for all you people who can drive safely!

Looks like a reasonable deal, plus I'm down to 0 points about now (one of their previous offers restricted points or something). Not that I'd ever buy one new, could be a laugh trying the Astra sport hatch for a few days. All front wheel drive wrongness though.

The guys rudeness is inexcusable, as there is never any need to alienate customers. However the T & C on the website clearly state this offer is available only to drivers aged 25-70, which have no more than 2 minor convictions in the past 5 years, and have made no more than one fault/ theft claim in the past 3 years.
I have to say that you probably should have read the full T & C before phoning them.

OH called about this today and you are not allowed 3 consecutive days and you have to take it back each day. 100 miles max in one day. Over 18 locally but you need to hold a valid credit card which will be swiped.
We're not bothering.....too much grief.

i did read the terms and condions it said 18 or over at the time 2days ago but they must have changed them as i told the guy have a look on the site and he said all places have thier own terms and conditions.

Not to be a pedant, but I printed the article and the T&Cs off last weekend when I saw the advert on TV. And it still said to be over 25 then.
You just missed it, that's all.
Different dealers don't change the age to suit - the guy was fobbing you off with that one.

wen we did it it was 100 miles per day but we kept it 4 3 full days, never had 2 take it bk or check it in until our 3 days were up, as long as u did no more than 300 miles then they were fine (i distinctly remeber as we were all layghing as how cud they tell if we did 50 miles one day then 150 the next? still not over limit but over 100 miles in that day- we v sad i kno!!)

Yep tried getting the 3 day free trial, but my Vauxhall dealer said they would only let me do a quick test drive and stated that they have never had any customers take the 3 day free trial as they don't need to, to prove that Vauxhall are the best, arrogant and very much typical car salesman.

hmm - why do they advertise it then. I would complain to head office and let them know.

Think I'll wait for the twin top to come in June and take them up on the offer.

I think they could get in a lot of trouble for that because it's a manufacturer promotion - the manufacturer are bearing the cost of it, not the dealer. Provided you've met all the T&Cs, and they have availability of test cars, it's not up to the dealer to refuse.
I'm sure the dealer is contractually obliged to honour the offer. Definitely report it to Vauxhall!
