It's psychological - you're craving the displacement activity rather than the nicotine 95% of the time. Drinking ice cold water in very small glasses helps. I got a feeling like my brain was 'dried up', was yawning and had acrid taste in my mouth for a few days. Try to delay the first fag of the day as that's the one that sets you off craving - a few busy mornings where you just don't go near the paper shop will help.
Well done, though - see if the stop smoking advisor/nurse can help you - perhaps the inhalator would be good for you as you only use it when you have a major craving. Gotta be better than the 5 - 10 that could so easily creep back up to 20 - 30 in no time at all.
You can do this - once I realised it was actually the uncomfortable feelings from not being able to walk away and light up every time something tested me that I was experiencing, (not the nicotine withdrawal the companies want you to believe so you buy a whole course of stuff from them), I found it a lot easier to not smoke again.
But you have done very well so far, you just need to look forward to see you are nearer not smoking than smoking heavily!

sounds like you dont need champix this is the tablet what you can take i was on 30 a day for about 14 years these took out the receptors i your head but i had to over come the phisicall side myself i stopped on 23rd feb 09 and what i did was confronted all the physical torments before they confronted me like going to pub and having my friends round who smoked this way it was like i was in control not the other way round cause i new what i was expecting and it built me up more to get through it
yes it was very hard and is still hard now and proberbly always will be but im still in control and i just think if i have a fag now i did all that for nothing and id be even more peeved of good luck any way
hope this helped

Well done Harlina:j You are doing the right thing in getting them completely out of your life. These early days are the worst - get through these and you'll be fine. You will feel so much better, have some money again ;) and it will be because you CHOOSE to give up. Keep telling yourself that.
You could also look at www.click2quit.com (http://www.click2quit.com)
there are loads of quitters on there who will welcome you, some just quit and some quit for years.
Well done again!:T

Well done for the effort you have made so far......it's not going to be an easy journey but it is possible with lots of determination and willpower.
The most important thing is that YOU have to be the one who wants to stop, not your family, children or colleagues.....if YOU decide that it's what you want to do then half the battle is over.
Put your ciggy money away - on a daily basis if you can - after the first month take all that money and spend it on yourself - something you couldn't normally justify. I spent £100 in Boots on face creams, lotions, potions and make-up etc
Good luck x
