I am thinking about buying a fitness DVD. I have wanted to join a gym for a while now but just don't have the extra cash so though this might be the next best thing.

I was hoping to focus on my bum and my thighs as these seem bigger than the rest of my body

I don't exercise at all at the moment (although did take up running for a while - then gave up) so looking for something quite easy but effective.

Just thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has any ideas what to get :D

I can highly recommend the my fitness coach if you have a wii. If you look around you can pick it up for £9.99 from lots of online places. She tailor makes a fitness programme based on your strengths and weaknesses.

Hi Drea
Well I have bought many in my time:o. I would highly highly highly recommend the 10 minute solution target toning (for beginners) from Amazon. I think it is £3.94 so is MSE as well:T. You don't really feel like you are working out very hard but believe me, it is effective if you continue doing in regularly. Just read the reviews as well! It is an excellent DVD.
I carry any extra weight on my bum and thighs too:o:o, and so does Davina. I have 3 of her DVD's and they are all excellent. She is really encouraging and struggles with some of the exercises (so is, therefore, human!!), she sweats and you can tell she is having to work hard and it's nice to know its not just me.

I would highly recommend both the 10 minute target toning one and any Davina one, but start with the 10 minute toning one first and progress onto Davina, as you said you don't do much exercise at the mo. If it's too difficult to start off with we tend to give it up but I have kept at the 10 min one and my clothes did feel loser . I gave up smoking recently and have put some weight back on but I am confident if I keep doing my exercises, I will soon lose it all.
Good luck hon

you could see if your local library has a selection of workout dvd's too - so that you could see a few and get an idea what to look out for when buying one. ebay has a selection too
