Right ... after popping out my gorgeous baby boy Jayden i discovered that as much as i had like to think all the weight had been him its not :( ... 9 months of eating ice cream and chocolate (i did eat fruit as well honest) found its way to my hips and bum ...

so as off monday im declaring myself fat and in needed of shifting 2stone :p and as i know we all find it hard to stay on the straight and narrow while the kids are bugging for sweets  or you can see the cake or chocolate in the supermarket and they're calling you to them :o i thought i start something where we can come if we're feeling weak and need help ... now i dont know if this is the right place but i kinda figured it would run apart and parcel of the parent thread ...

so who wants to join me ... if you still got those few pounds being stubborn and you need help we're here :D .. so if your bubs is 2 weeks 2 months or 2 years ..

come one come all ... :D:D:D x

you start whenever your ready im starting monday but i getting ready this weekend all crap gone all healthy stuff bought and anything i do made is from scratch ...

this is my healthy plan ..
ooook so here goes ...
-main one NO YEAST honestly you'd be suprised what you cant have though including some crackers so read the labels have tortillas and if you wanna be a true MSE'er old style board has a recipe for them, also think of the money you save not spending £1.30 odd on a loaf..
-cut out all sugars including sugar in teas do this for the first month and honestly anything with sugar in if you taste it will feel to sweet and hurt your teeth
-i know this sounds like a no brainer but 2ltrs of water you pee like a horse til your body gets use to it but you feel great for it (you fancy a change every now and again have a slice of lemon in it with ice or fizzy water)
- peppermint tea or ginger tea .. twingings do lovely tea and these to help your body digest
-wholewheat rice and pasta
- over do it on the fruit and veg honestly its not about straving yourself its about eatting as much as you like just the right things ...
-if you have a juicer .. use it throw in anything it fun finding what goes together.. same for smoothies (i like to throw in a weetabix it fills you up then)

WALK EVERYWHERE!!! you'd be suprised how much weight can be shifted just by walking instead of getting the bus or in our cases pushing a buggy (usually filled with shoppin) ... hmmmm i know i did more but these alone are really good ... be very strict though coz for the first month its a killer x

And me! As from Monday no more chocolates! Eating them on a daily basis is taking it's toll on my behind and my stomach looks like a large ironing pile : (

I'm in but have been told off by the HV for not eating enough whilst BFing so am hoping to lose some through exercise for the first few weeks/months and then hope to really get into it. I'm back in pre preg clothes but with serious muffin top and bulges where there shouldn't be bulges.

Was gonna ask for a wii fit for my birthday in august but don't like the idea of it saying ouch when I get on!

Can I join you. I am not sure if my fat is nearly 4 years old or 11 nearly 12 months old but either way I need to shift this.

Can I recommend to those of you with a Wii - try the EA Active. Much better and more interesting than Wii Fit by a mile and you can still use the Wii Board with it. Wii Fit is nice for Yoga but if you are interested in a good workout Active is the way to go.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

this is brilliant who knew so many people would be up for it :T
my top tip is smaller dinner plates, and dishing up the veg first so it takes up most of the plate and piling whatever else is left onto OH's plate :rotfl:

I'd like to put myself on the weighting list (geddit?!)

As soon as LO arrived (EDD 11 July) I need to get on a diet pronto as my best friend gets married at the end of August. That gives me anywhere between 8 weeks (if babe arrives NOW) and 4 weeks (if babe goes 2 weeks over) to lose some weight.

I've an appt booked with the personal shopper at Debenhams on Friday 27 August, so I need to look acceptable by then. I'll only know the full extent of the damage when this one arrives so will keep you posted.

Looking forward to the support. Great idea Searchie!

Third baby little Dex is 4 months old and I've want to shift a stone and generally tone up.

I've been going to exercise classes 3 times a week for the past 6 wks and have so far lost 4lb. Sounds a bit measly I know but for the first month I didnt lose a thing but I have toned up abit, so I was happy when I finally started losing weight a fortnight ago.

Weight loss thus far -
weighed 2 wks ago - 3lbs loss
weighed this week - 1lb

This week was a bit of a milestone as it was the first time my BMI has been in the 'ideal' range :j

I haven't really altered my diet. Am breastfeeding so cant watch the cals too much anyway (I thought the weight was meant to drop off lol!). But I do try to keep under 2000kcal a day. I'd recommend the 'live strong' website which has an application called 'my plate' where you can enter your foods and it calculates your calories.

My aim is just to stick with the exercise really and hopefuly continue losing weight slowely but surely.

Yep! In fact you should avoid really crash dieting when you are breastfeeding as your body could release toxins. Steady weight loss is def the way to go! Personally I would enjoy being allowed to be fat for at least 6 months and start dieting after that- don't forget that breastmilk gives the baby its main source of nutrition until at least 12 months old ;) (cutting out a bit of the junk food is never a bad thing.

Wish you'd have started this thread 6 months ago- not much point in me joining now as nearly back to pre-pregnancy size after biting the bullet in March and joining WW! Baby is 20 months now and I'm still feeding. WW allows 5 extra points for BF mums (or 10 points if baby has nothing but). :T

Hi Lu T just a quick thought, my friend had a similar timescale after the birth of her 2nd baby to get into an already bought size 8 bridesmaid dress, and she did manage it, so I believe you can too :)

Go on then - count me in.

I put on three stone when I had Charlotte as I had SPD and severe oedema. I was pretty much immobile for the last few months of the pregnancy and a couple of months after she was born, then my pelvis was very weak for over a year after she was born so I couldn't do any exercise.

Managed to lose two stone last year which I'm pleased about. Would like to lose another stone to get back to the weight I was when I got married.

I would like to join you all please, I was a 14 when I got pregnant and I have been actively trying to drop some weight for just under three weeks (Lexi is nine weeks old) Im now a size 12 and wish to slim into a 10....
We are hopefully going on holiday in October, just need to see if we think we can cope with a baby and the heat and a stroppy independant six year old!
But thats when I would like to hit my target for.
Good luck to all x

Oh dear my DD is 5 and I still say to people I am working on shifting my baby weight! I went from an 8 to a 14 then back to a 12 after a lot of hard work and there I have stuck for the last 5 years. I want to be a 10 by the end of the summer and I am going to do it through eating less and doing more (I refuse to use the word exercise, reminds me too much of PE lessons). So if 5 years after giving birth is not tooo late can I join in too????

Fear not, I have actually lost pre ds2 weight, am on the way to losing pre ds1 (aged nearly 6) weight and then will try to get to pre dd (Nearly 10 ) weight!!!!

5 years is nothing!! ;) I am going to try to "do more" as well as i have lost weight recently but seriously need to tone up - my problem is a common one i fear. I work 5 days a week, am still bfing so need to be around for bedtime, and am exhausted at the end of it so exercise is last on my list...

Ah well, i shall have to make more of an effort ;)

I've put on about 40lbs and still have 5 weeks to go. I'm still wearing size 8 maternity clothing but I've put on loads around my thighs, it's all ripply and cellulite-y and it needs to go, plus I'm only 5'1 so the extra weight really shows.

Have ordered a second hand copy of Beyond Chocolate (very MSE ;) )and there is NO WAY I can diet. I can't stick to them and they make me miserable. I read really quick so hopefully if kids aren't up too late this evening I can really get stuck into the book.
Comfort eating and eating due to being tired are all my issues so if I can work on those I should be well on my way.
Got a school reunion in September so want to have lost some weight by then.

Oh my - I can't believe how many of us there are!!

We shouldn't get moved...there is a Murphys thread seems to be alright in the Arms

For anyone with a Wii fit - doing the step aerobics holding the baby provides additional weight training...and has the added benefit of sending Benjamin to sleep.

Note - hula-hooping is not so easy with baby!!

I will get back on the Wii on Monday - for now I am making roast beef and roast potatoes (in this heat I must be mad!!) YUMMY!!

Hiya All,

Can I join too.. I had my second son in December (boxing day to be exact!).

I've got 1 stone to lose and I'm really struggling. I'm currently 8st 8lb, want to get down to 7st 8lb... which is still heavier than my pre pregnancy weight but I'd be happy at that weight. I've been living in two pairs of jeans for the last 6 months cos I refuse to buy bigger clothes!! Hate my chunky thighs, bingo wings and role of fat across my stomach...:(

I joined a local gym and went 3/4 times a week but fell off the wagon about 2 weeks ago.... gonna start going again on Monday....

I hope this thread will encourage me to get to my target faster..... Good Luck to Everyone xx

Had my little one in April and have managed to put on over a stone since having her, and while bf!!!

Really would love some help, have tried by rejoining sw but still keep putting on, always seem to be hungry, grab whatever and get larger by the day, been out today and had sweat marks on my top from where my rolls of fat are! So ashamed to type that but hoping it kicks my behind!

I am so looking forward to being happy with myself again, my problem is is that i sit and moan then order a takeaway to cheer myself up lol.

SM ma dear - stick me on the 'weighting list' (that was a good one!) :rotfl:

I am hoping to be one of this horrible people who bounce right back after birth but going on my Mum's belly I might need a bit of help! She has the excuse of having 5 kids which is what I want as well - am sure after 5 chocolate and ice cream filled pregnancies I'll def need to shift something!!

SugarSpun
28-06-2009, 1:15 PM
I'm hoping to bounce back too Glam - my family is divided into women who have a baby and never regain any semblance of shape, and women who walk out of the hospital in their size 8 pre pregnant pants. I'm shaped like the skinny ones normally but have gained weight like the others so it could go either way.

Just noticed this morning that my boobs have started pointing the wrong way. How does one fix this post-birth? A pessimistic pair is not what I want for the rest of my life.

Glamazon
28-06-2009, 1:18 PM
do the 'ole - I must, I must, I must improve my bust exercises!!!

Mine have only gone up one size to a DD (thank god, was dreading getting my pre-op H cups back!) and are still pert so am hoping they stay that way.

As boobs are mostly fat, I don't think you can do much with them!

SS for stomach crunch i think its 4-6 weeks depending on the woman and if it was natural or c/s ... also with boob you cant and wont know what they'll be like til after birth or BFing (if you are) you have to wait til the milk dries up before you get there real shape x

Just checking in ladies, I can associate with SL about feeling fed up and eating more! I think being at home with DD is so new as im used to always being at work, too much in fridge and cupboards and so easy to much away when DS and DH are at school and work, they really have no idea how much I eat throughout the day!!

So from tomorrow I am going to really try my best, gonna come straight to lappy when I feel weak (expect to be infront of it all day for at least the first week!)

Has anyone got the ea sports/active thingy for the wii, was wondering if it was any good and worth spending the pennies on?

I've got it. It's faaaaaaaaar better than Wii fit (unless you like the balancing games/yoga which are fun but not exactly fat burning).

Good morning everyone.
I'm up bright and early as dh had to get up at 5 to go to London for a training course.
Today's the first official day of my baby weight shifting regime - wish me luck!
I've got off to a reasonable start with breakfast - which I never normally fit-in in the mornings, just got to keep it going at work. (And stay away from the evil, calorie-laden shop and restaurant at work....).
Am hoping to work through lunch (eating at my desk while working - hopefully stopping me buying more food in addition to what I've packed for lunch), so that I can finish early and go to the gym.
Next challenge will be tonight. DH's presence in the evenings often helps keep me away from going completely overboard on snacking (at least until his back is turned or he's gone to the bathroom :D), but because of this course he won't be here until tomorrow night - MUST STAY STRONG.
Anyway, here goes, and wishing good luck to everyone - we can do it!

You can also choose different workouts or make your own. Have a good time using it (especially in this heat!!!).

I was sitting feeding DD last night and because I'd been picking at a few things after tea was feeling really bad about myself as usual so I did Paul McKenna's trick of repeating the internal voices in my head in a silly voice. And do you know what I didn't feel bad after all. I've not done it before and was really suprised it worked :o There is hope for me yet :T

My diet is really low fat - 3 healthy meals with no snacking in between and I will go to the nurse at my gps for a monthly weigh in.... I have been a yo yo dieter most of my life and am determined this time I will lose it in a healthy way . I need the discipline of somebody weighing me but really didnt want to have to pay for RC or WW so this is ideal for me. I also try to walk about 3 miles per day or at least every other day:p I also have a holiday booked for august and so desperately dont want to look the way I did at easter when we went abroad and i covered up in sarongs all day long!!

I got weighed this morning and I'm 11st 12oz. I'm going to get weighed every Monday morning and update.

This site looks really good:
http://www.foodfocus.co.uk

You can set up a profile and add in your weights and it calculates your BMI and draws graphs and stuff.

You can also set goals, and keep a log of the food you have eaten and an exercise diary if you wish. Some good resources on there too.

Morning Ladies,

Its so nice to see everyone reporting back. Im just signing in to do a confession :o

Had a takeaway and a bottle erm i mean glass of wine over the weekend. But I have decided to be extra good through the week and have weekends off, that way i know i will stick to it better. Plus we usually end up eating out over the weekend so I dont want to be spoiling that.

Went to the farm shop yesterday and spent loads on fruit and salad and things :D

Also did a big shop and got plenty of fresh chicken and turkey.... going to make chicken and mango salad for dinner later me thinks.

Im a bit annoyed though as I have done something to my back and I think Im going to be out of action on the gym equipment for a few days, will have to concentrae on stretching and yoga!

Becles - That website is great, thank-you for sharing.
I'm not sure that my will power is sufficient for the job, but that site reckons that I could achieve my target before the end of October this year!!!
I might not follow it quite that drastically as it doesn't seem much of a calorie allowance - 843 calories a day (!), and I need to be sensible (DH and I are trying for another baby at the moment), but wow - seeing how few days I could achieve it in is a HUGE kick up the backside....

just haven't been able to tone my stomach, very annoying, any tips for exercises to tone this area that avoid going gym??

much appreciated.

Princess - I have a pilates/fit ball and book which is great for stomachs. You can do sit-ups on it which work you much harder than the traditional type, plus all kinds of other stomach exercises. I like the one where you lie on your back, grip the ball with your thighs and lift it up and down. You can do the same holding it with your hands to work other stomach muscles too.

And the absolute best is the 'plank' - where you hold all of your weight on your hands and toes while trying to still breathe. Bad explanation so the pics here http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://weightlossexercise.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/plank1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://weightlossexercise.wordpress.com/2008/02/12/core-exercises/&usg=__JRkFCjznvHhWKi-hRlBQgSpgn9I=&h=2448&w=3264&sz=3513&hl=en&start=8&sig2=s0EWZSvLcD80ib_s1qaMrQ&tbnid=ti69yBlSLG4_2M:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dplank%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den&ei=XgFJSvPsOIHH-AaUjdgq

You can start by being on your knees and keeping a straight back on your forearms or hands. Then graduate to being up on your toes. Be careful not to dip your back though.

Think I got my ball and book from Asda so worth a look?

Good luck everyone. Hope you've had good first days. Can't wait to join you.

Searching can you add me onto the list as well please.

I only put on half a stone with DS1 and then lost 2stone afterwards but it crept back on before I became pregnant again. Again only put on about 10lb with DS2 but had far too much to start with before DS1 was born!! Since just before DS2 was born I have lost 2stone but that includes his weight as I weighed myself just before he was born but forgot to do it just afterwards. So I've probably lost just under a stone of my own bulk but I'll start it from now and ideally I'd like to lose about 4 to 5 stone. That way I can be slim enough to run round the park with my boys without having to stop every couple of minutes or watch as daddy plays with them.

I have to admint I'm another one for the comfort eating or when/if I get a few moments I tend to munch on something I shouldn't. I seem to get so hungry mid morning and mid afternoon even though I've had fruit & fribe or weetabix for breakfast and then a sandwich for lunch, it could be partly to do with me breastfeeding as I have a booby monster that would eat all day given the chance! However food shopping is being delivered this afternoon with plenty of fruit so when I get the munchies I have some fruit to snack on.

That food focus website is brillant - how bad is my BMI though, 37.7!! Fatty alert!! I like the fact it has housework and childcare in the exercise list and least I'll always be able to add something each day.

How is everyone doing the 2lts of water per day? I was thinking about putting it in an empty fizzy drink bottle and then drinking from that so I know how I'm doing.

Sorry rambled on a bit there - time to get some exercise/housework done

I managed breakfast again this morning - that's 3 out of 3 days! Don't think I've ever managed that before. I'm having a ham salad for lunch and I've bought a pack of tic tacs in case I'm tempted to start picking... and no visits to evil shop so far this week!!! Yehaw! If I can only see out this week, I think evil shop closes for the summer when all the students leave and then that's a little less temptation.
Emlou - I know it's not the same, but Snack-a-jacks do packs of caramel popcorn that's not bad - around 90 calories a pack, if you don't want to deprive yourself completely. Perhaps you could take a bag with you?

This thread is now making me laugh. Some of you are desperately trying to avoid the foods you really want and all we do is talk about them - that seems a bit cruel!! when I was working me and my mates used to talk about food ALL the time. We were obsessed and pretty much one of us would be on a diet at the time :rotfl:

Hi everyone, still going strong on the eating front at the moment. Had some cereal for breakfast and another salad for lunch. My mum popped by to see us last night and she brought some lettuce and broad beans fresh from their garden so I'll have to include them for tea tonight - should be nice!
Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm starting to get a little nervous about the prospect of being at home all weekend as that's usually where I really slip up, but so far that website's really keeping me motivated.

But don't you hate it when it then tells you that your weight fluctuates naturally so it's basically raining on your parade.

I am finding it too hot to eat much although I am still eating when I am hungry and trying to be slower etc etc. Had tuna, cucumber and home grown lettuce and HM bread for tea. It was lovely but I didn't clean my plate for the sake of it :D

Just got back from badminton. It was killer. The sports hall was roasting quite unbearable. Only played for 30 mins as we couldn't stand more than that :o Still 30 mins is better than nothing at all and most importantly we had fun :D

Well resisted Emlou! Not easy, I know.
I'm feeling really pleased with myself - now on day 5 and I'm doing really well (for me!) eating-wise. I'm getting much better at 'policing' myself, (mainly due to that Food Focus website I should admit). Someone brought in a huge punnet of the most delicious strawberries with clotted cream yesterday. In the past I would have indulged and then cursed the fact that I'd fallen off the wagon, or not had any and then been resentful and slipped up later in the day - instead I had a handful and just avoided the cream, then no more! Likewise this morning, I had a moment of panic when I heard that the meeting I was about to attend was putting on cream teas (which I love) and I thought that temptation would overwhelm me, but actually when I entered scone, cream and jam into the Food Focus website, I realised that I had more than enough calories to justify having a small portion! wahey - I like this!

OK, I've been following this for a couple of days and I need to join in. I've not got masses to lose, more in need of a tone up. I've signed up to the food focus site and will get DH to do the same. Kids school is 1/2 mile away (all up hill!) so will walk to collect them in a moment. I'm hoping to lose 2lb per week but that gives me about 750 calories a day (not a lot I know!). Now I can't eat that little so I obviously need to excercise more. I'd better cut out a lot of the coffee too as that adds massively to the calorie intake. I reckon I'll work up quite a sweat today getting up the hill. Then I'm at a wedding tonight so will hopefully burn some calories dancing!
My baby weight is going to be 6 in December. My first lot got shifted when I started my job. I lost 1 stone in a month without trying. Just walked to and from work (quickly as I had to get DD from the childminder) and walked loads whilst at work. Now I work nights so my food intake is massively up the creek and I need to try and sort it out.

I didn't eat it all (actually there were far too many chips for me and H) and I shared the pie with him. It was delish and I didn't feel the need for anything else afterwards. I even hd to buy a couple of muffins from Greggs yesterday. Previously I would have had the urge for a donut or cream cake but yesterday - nope, nothing, nada :D I didn't even have to fight a craving or anything - it was a revelation. Because I wasn't hungry I didn't fancy it.
Trying not to weigh myself (but I have lost 1lb) but don't want to step on the scales too often as I know my weight will fluctuate and if I put too much stock in what the scales tell me I KNOW I will self sabotage :o

Good evening ladies,
Well done to everyone who is staying on track!
My OH got the hint and came home with the ea active thing for the wii the other night (bless he clearly listens sometimes!) so I am now fully signed up to the 30 day workout as of yesterday, have to be honest and say the diet as such is not going great but tonight after doing the workout it said I had lost 150 cals, I was then tempted to go and eat the bar of choc in te fridge but decided if I was gonna stand for half an hr to burn that much, what would be the point in eating the choc after, so glass of diet coke instead!
Anyway im babbling I know!

Well done Emlou, I find it really hard not to fall off the wagon when I go out to eat - I'm going out Tuesday so I'll really have to stay focused.
I'm really envious of those with Wii Fit's and Active's. DH thought about getting a Wii (and I got really excited), then he decided to get a PS3 because his BIL had one (boo!)

Just created a profile on FF for DH. He's complaining that he's put on weight while I've been pregnant - probably due to joining me in my cravings for sweet stuff and no longer having time to hit the gym 3 times a week!

His BMI is only 25.4 but he wants to weigh less, so okay. Just need him to update his food and exercise and he can get started.

I've just moved up into the next stone but with only 6 days to my due date I hope I'll not have to see that for very long! Hoping to join you all soon!

I'd recommend Wii Active rather than Wii Fit. You don't have to have the board for Active and I've found it's a good workout and lots of different ones to choose from. Plus you get to choose what outfit you wear :o
Wii Fit is fun for the balance games and the Yoga but if you want to have a good workout Active is better.

Searching-me don't feel bad, the scales are not a true represenatation of weight loss. I am trying to wean myself off the scales as if I'd gained I'd then I'd feel really bad for the day. Most of my friends who are slim and don't diet have no idea what they weigh because they are not interested.

I really hope you all enjoy the EA Active - I am singing it's praises a bit and you'll all be shouting for my blood if you don't like it!

Becles
06-07-2009, 8:27 AM
I've lost a pound :j

I'm quite surprised as I've had serious PMT munchies over the last couple of days and I was a bit scared to get on the scales :o

I'm still doing the Wii Fit which much be working as I keep aching in various places! I'm not keen on the balance games, so I tend to do the hula hoops, steps and jogging to warm up, and then work through all the muscles workouts and finish off with the yoga.

It's my birthday in August, so I'm going to drop hints for EA Active :D

Don't worry too much searching me. Your weight does fluctuate throughout the day/month. How you feel overall and if your clothes are getting loose is a better indication than weight alone.

Searching - you should measure yourself as you'll probably find that you're losing inches even if the scales aren't showing any change. That's just as good. Remember that if you're exercising you're building muscle, which weighs more than fat. How your clothes fit is a good way to tell if you don't want to get the tapemeasure out.

I'm getting obsessed with that FF site! Have done DH's food and exercise logs for the last two days and feel like I'm slimming by proxy! It seems to appeal to him too, which is good as I know he's been miserable. Not that's very overweight, he's still in the healthy range but his target is at the bottom end. He just prefers to be that weight (even though he's quite broad-shouldered from his rugby days).

Still no sign that I'm joining you any time soon, but I might just set up a FF profile to do some 'exploring' of what I'd need to do

Hi everyone,
Well, first week completed! Here we go, week 2.
Searching_me, I echo Becles and Bitsy (edited: and Lu T - sorry, didn't see your post when I did mine, but yes, I agree with you!), I know it feels rubbish when the scales don't move, but often when you don't lose weight for a while, then it will suddenly have a big drop.
I've lost quite a bit of weight this week but it all went in the first couple of days and since then it's been the same. It probably will remain the same now for quite a while and I'll have to try really hard not to get discouraged. I think I'm going to track it in my siggy, then when I get down, I can at least see that I'm making progress.
I'm off to update my signature now.

That's great news searching_me - what a pleasant surpise! I normally find out that I'm heavier than I think when I go to the doctor's.
I've got to work late tonight, so they've arranged food for us, but I must resist! I don't have enough calories left to graze here as I'm sure to eat when I get home too... must stay strong (this is going to be my motto for life, I think)
Also, going out tomorrow night with family to a really nice restaurant, so I'm a little apprehensive. I looked online at their menu and it all looks quite sauce-laden, so not sure yet what I'll do.

Well done AM and Bitsy on shifting those pounds - you'rre really heading the right way!
SM - I'm sure you're going to look fantastic, but also remember how well you're doing and how far you've come. You've really got yourself together, got a wonderful little boy and presumeably they're still there, doing the same thing. You've got them beat, hands down, even if you never lose another pound (but you will!)...

well done on your losses girls and lu t's man!

i fell off the FF wagon the last couple of days, but i've been quite sensible in what i've eaten so all is not lost :D although today i might have gone to mcdonalds to find the drive through was closed so didnt get one after all cos it was hassle to get DS out the car for 5 mins  a blessing it was closed really!!

my jeans feel quite a bit looser i must say :D they dont stay up and when i pull them up they look really baggy and a little bit silly :j they were tight a month ago when i got them so i'm pleased with that! but i do remember someone on another thread saying that these jeans mould to your shape and get baggier and comfier with time so i dunno

Emlou - every little helps! It's great that your jeans are getting looser - definitely a good sign.
Lu T - I'm thinking of you, isn't it tomorrow that you're due? Hope you're feeling ok.

I've been working in kilograms rather than pounds because that's just how the Germans measure and it seemed much easier.

I just did a conversion from kg > lbs, and if I give birth today I have 3 stone 3lbs to lose, or 45lbs. I'm going to cry - that's such an enormous amount!

Right now, I weigh more than my clinically obese mother.

redstararnie76
11-07-2009, 10:22 AM
SS - you're supposed to be heavier when you give birth, I'm sure. So don't panic about it yet. If it helps, when I gave birth to my daughter, who was 8 pounds 10 - I automatically lost a stone. I put on a huge amount of weight when I was pregnant, (partly due to the fact I had an -at that time - undiagnosed (spelling?) digestive problem that everyone thought was morning sickness). In total I put on nearly six stone! That's been a nightmare to lose, however the first 3 stone I lost quite easily and naturally, it's just been the rest that's been hard work.
So, to summarise: my rather rambling point was that a) you're supposed to put on weight, don't worry and b) 45lbs isn't that much to lose post pregnancy, and c) you'll find that quite a bit goes naturally
SM - I really sympathise, I find the evenings worse. I hadn't realised how much late night snacking I do. I've actually started going to bed earlier to avoid it!

SS i agree with red with DD i put on 4stone and this one i put on just over 2 dont worry about it now your only concern should be that you and bubs are ok as for the rest thats for after ...

red im finding now ive cut out diet coke and everything sweet i get tired early some night i was getting tired til 2am now its 11pm and all i wanna do is curl up on the sofa and snooze but i suppose it would be like that with no sugar or cafferine in my body x

And according to FF, I've burnt nearly 900 calories and the house looks better - we might even sell it at this rate.

Sorry not been on here much. Had my DD 1st Birthday and Christening on Saturday and had a friends christening on sunday. It's been a mega busy week and weekend!
Not sure how I've fared as I didn't eat much at all Saturday as playing hostess. The thing is I really don't want to weigh myself. I can see on my upper midriff that I've lost some weight and I don't want to sabotage that by stepping on the scales. I've done that before and its contributed to all those negative feelings that come up and before you know it I've fallen off the wagon and back to my bad eating habits.
I am probably not going to weigh myself that much so apologies if you don't see me posting amounts etc as I am trying to steer myself away from that kind of thinking.
You all sound as though you are doing really well. Lets keep it up! :D

totally understand bitsy i refusing to weigh myself properly unless i do it at the doctors (i say properly as my wii fit does not seem to be right) so that well be every 12 weeks when i get my depo or if i need a check up so not often .. although i love my OH as he said you can tell where im losing it and im looking slimmer ... i have him well trainned :D x

Hi everyone,
Bitsy - don't apologise for not posting your weight regularly, no reason to do so! Only reason I do is (hopefully) to motivate myself. SM - your OH sounds lovely and supportive. My DH keeps referring to his 'new slimline wife'! However, I could really do without him offering me chocolate etc - I guess it's taking him a while to get used to it!

Searching_me - that's lovely of your OH. My DH is struggling - his weakness is alcohol. He's currently trying to cut back, but to take his mind off it, he's eating more sweet things than he would normally do - just the sort of things that I crave in my weaker moments!

Afternoon all, can I join? I'd not bothered before, as I'm wary of dieting while I'm still breastfeeding, but a) baby isn't having as much milk now she is eating lots of food and b) I am eating a load of c*** and even if I eat a little bit more sensibly that should make a bit of difference.

Right now I am 10 stone 12lb, and I want to get down to 10 stone at the very most. (Ideally 9.5, but I would be happy with 10). So for the moment I'm going to take things slowly - save chocolate/naughty puddings for weekends only (realistically will get fed them at in laws ;0) ); fruit juice/squash only as a treat, so plain water most of the time; walk more.

If only I had a wii fit. Mind you i've not had time to use the wii since we got it! Maybe baby would like to watch me play on the wii? I'm sure she would find it highly amusing and want to help. I might give it a try later/tomorrow and let you know how I get on!

Given the weight of my DD I should be thin as a rake. Unfortunately the only thing shifting her about seems to affect is my back. And not in a good way.

Love your DD's name Ladybird, we wanted Isabella with our first child but ended up with a boy. Oh well ;)

Have been slipping back into bad habits and not concentrating on what I am eating etc. Have found that I am eating whilst watching TV, reading or on the computer. As a result I think I've been eating more and have definately been having the odd sneaky snack when I wasn't really that hungry.
Still mentally I feel good and that for me is half the battle so can get back on track and keep going.
Hope you are all doing OK.
