Do you stick to a favourite makeup brand and just prefer all their range from lipsticks, shadows, face to nails etc.. or do you prefer to have a bit of each makeup from each and every brand available.

do you find that a particular brand is better at a particular item, say colour range of lipsticks or eyeshadows etc.

just curious to know,
for me, i seem to prefer bourjois lipsticks and the rest clinique (freebies!) i have tried cheaper brands like No17, Natural collection but find the quality not as good, and i'm not so fond of the colour ranges of max factor, revlon, loreal, rimmel, maybelline, collection 2000.
oh and trying out the benefit (freebie) mascara - which seems ok but still prefer the clinique high definition,

your thoughts?

My foundation is Estee Double Wear; I've tried everything else and nothing comes close. I use No17 bronzer, and loads of Avon for eyes. I've had Max Factor Lipfinity for an absolute age, but have just this week started using a freebie colourstay (i think) which I'm liking a lot.

I love Avon's antiwrinkle stuff too.

I am a make-up tart. I will use cheapies if they are good but I find some things are worth spending more on. Cheap eyeshadows & lipsticks often have less pigment so you either end up using more or they don't blend well.

Eyeshadow: Bobbi Brown or Tesco
Mascara: Tesco is fine.
Eyeliner: Rimmel is fine
Lipstick: Bobbi brown
Foundation: Revlon minerals -I'm very pale. (tried L'oreal and Avon and both were chalky)
Lip gloss: vaseline
Concealer: Yves Saint Laurent Touche eclat. Nothing comes close.
I'm going to try Aldi Mascara and concealer as I have good things about both.
I'm trying to be MSE but it is a struggle when i see lovely cosmetics. :o

I use a mixture of everything really as I find not all products from a certain range suit me.

For eye shadows I tend to buy either Barry M Dazzle dusts or MAC Pigments. Mascara I always buy Lancome as I've never been happy with the cheaper ones that I've tried.
Eye Liner Miss Sporty is definitely the best I've tried.
Foundation after trying many cheaper ones I always come back to Lancome so am not even going to bother wasting money on cheap ones anymore.
Bronzer / Blusher - am open to anything really as am not fussy about these.
Lip glosses - again if I like it then I'm not bothered what brand it is.

I would say my make up bag is 50% high end products and brands and 50% cheaper items. By using a few cheap brands it means I can indulge in the more expensive items from time to time when I need to :)

I love Barry M dazzle dust but I can't put it on without it ending up all over my face and any surface within 20 yards. Their nail polish is just fab too.

I do tend to favour certain brands for certain products...
MAC for eyeshadows and lipsticks
NARS for bronzer and blusher
YSL for Mascara
Chanel for lip gloss (Aqualumiere - haven't found any product that even comes close!)
YSL or Smashbox for concelaer

Chanel or MAC for nail polish.

Yes, I like my high end products but I also have highly sensitive, reactive skin and many brands are unsuitable for me so I tend to stick with what I know is good for me. I used to spend a small fortune 'trying' bits and bobs from the cheaper end of the market only to find that the product didn;t agree with me and I ended up chucking t after a few uses. All in all, it probably cost me more than just buying what I absolutely need from the high end ranges.

Lily Lolo for cover up and foundation.
I like Max factor for mascara and rimmel for nail polish.

I don't use shed loads of makeup :)

Clinique for eyes, chanel for nails, ysl for touche eclat, bit of a tart for lips. Clarins/Clinique for skincare if in need of dramatic refresh, otherwise P20 sunblock and Eucerin for moisturising.

I tend to buy whatever is cheap - currently NYC at Superdrug.

I will never, ever buy any other eyeshadow than Urban Decay. I'm 34 and sometimes wonder if I look like mutton dressed as lamb, but the colours are so vibrant, come in so many different finishes and last for ages. I think they are well worth the £11 per pot! I haven't had one yet that I've got bored with.

I don't stick to one brand, I use the reviews in magazines to buy both makeup and skincare products(Essential Mag being one) as I don't think I have the money or the time to test them!
One of the recommendations was Revlon dial foundation (not sure what the correct name is!) but it's brill I've been using this for over a year
I've also read great reviews for Lacura Mascara from Aldi and use it daily.

I am the ultimate make up tart, cant seem to stick with anything even if I love it, must have a very low attention span:rotfl:

I find you cant go wrong with any product from the Lauder group (MAC, Estee Lauder, Clinique, philosphy, Jo Malone and creme de la mer) my personal fav is Estee Lauder.

Whem I am budget shopping I love Collection 2000 and GOSH.

I have real problems with makeup - I am very fair skinned and to top it off my skin is incredibly sensitive so when I find a foundation that suits me I stick to it.
I used to use Clinique but a couple of Xmas's ago I bought a solid foundation palette from a company called Helen E in Debenhams and it is absolutely fantastic, it suits my skin and is exactly the right colour. However, they only promote it around Xmas time, which is ok as I dont wear makeup often and when I do I only need a little.
I got some for £10 last Xmas and got a free goodie bag with lip brush, lip gloss (I've just tried it for the first time now and its actually really nice) a glitter eyeliner pencil (which is gorgeous) and some other little bits which is fantastic.
Other than that, Boots 17 eyeshadow, and Superdrug mascara. Im not fussy :D

Lipglosses: MAC or collection 2000
Concealor: boots 17
Tinted moisturiser: MAC; tesco
I love the Barbara Daly at Tesco face cream which brightens your face
Blusher: Benefit
Eyeshadows: any
Lipstick: chanel, rimmel, Dior addict

So favs are MAC, Dior, Benefit

I'm exactly the same.

I love MAC, but one of my favourite blushers (that isn't MAC) comes from boots natural collection. It's a pretty colour, I'd love to try some NARS, but I can get the same effect from that, and it's much cheaper.

I love benefit bad gal mascara.

Lipstick I don't use, but I love lancome juicy tubes or stila glosses. Either that or I use carmex lipbalm.

Foundation is No7 by boots - the intelligent colour one, though I do like you rebel tinted moisturiser by benefit.

That's all I can remember, hardly ever wear make-up other than when I'm going out :rotfl:

For nails I use anything - usually CND (they're my prof brand, so I use them at home as well), Chanel, rimmel and I've used the george ones form Asda - ok for the first few uses, clogs up quite badly though, but cheap enough to throw away.

My fave brands are MAC and Benefit, I think the quality is fab, however, I can't always afford them so I also stock up on Maybelline which I find is cheap but effective.

I don't wear a lot of make-up really but I am finding that what I do buy is always Clarins now. I use all their skincare products - cleansers, toners etc and they seem to really suit my skin.

Loads of people have been asking me if I've had some sort of treatment on my face because it looks so good the last year. So, as old make-up as finished, I have been replacing bits with Clarins. The other day I bought a tube of summery lip gloss and it's gorgeous.

While I was in there a woman was spending over £100 on Clarins face creams and didn't bat an eyelid at the price. I will say her skin was beautiful and I heard her telling the assistant that she wouldn't be without Clarins.

The only items I use now which are not Clarins are a tinted moisturiser by Avon with SPF15 and I use Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream for all sorts of little "jobs".

My favourite brands are probably BeneFit, B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful or Urban Decay. I'm a sucker for anything that's a bit unusual or quirky, particularly in packaging terms - call me odd but I like my dressing table to look pretty!

That said, this is what I am currently using:

- Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation (the one I'm currently using is a sample but I have just bought the full size one because I absolutely love it and it ticks all the boxes I want it to - yes it's pricey but it's an investment)
- Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer
- B Never Too Be Busy To Be Beautiful blusher, which is OK but not brilliant. I'll probably find a new one when it's used up (which could be a while off mind...)
- Maybelline Great Lash mascara
- Eyeshadows from Maybelline (Dream Mousse Eye Colour) and Boots Natural Collection
- Lipglosses from Lancome (Juicy Tubes) and BeneFit (Her Glossiness) - one was a present and the other was a freebie though
- B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful Bon Bon highlighter
- B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful Sweet Lips lip scrub
- BeneFit Dr Feelgood Lipscription lip balm and lip scrub (never opened)
- BeneFit Bad Gal mascara freebie (unopened)

I am kind of the same with make-up as I am about clothes and perfume though - I have 'everyday' make-up and 'posh' make-up, and what I need is to distinguish between the two.

That said though if I had the money I would be a bit of a 'cult' products junkie...

I bought a Smashbox kit from QVC about 5 years ago. I wanted to try the eyeliner (its so easy to do). However, I hated the eyeliner (made me look harsh!!), but loved everything else. I now only wear Smashbox, Primers, blusher, eyeshadows, lip liners, lipstick & lipgloss. I just ordered the mascara yesterday.
Also my family know what to buy for me. Sometimes you just have to keep it simple.;)

For me it's...

Always L'Oreal for foundation
Always No7 for loose and pressed powders, concealers, and bronzer
Bourjois for blusher

Then Benefit, 17, Barry M, and Collection 2000 for everything else. Have not used Max Factor, Maybelline, Boots Natural Collection, or Revlon for years - not a fan but appreciate that others are :)

I use mac mostly. I love their studio fix and select foundations as well as their MSF's.

In love with their blusher and bronzers, as well as their shadows.

Also use Urban Decay, Benefit, Dior and Stila

As for eyeliner and mascara i generally stick to cheaper brands like Maybelline, Rimmel, Max Factor and L'oreal.

cover girl lash blast is a must have for me!!

My fave is bourjouis :D I love their blushers, eyeshadows, nail varnishes, don't really rate their mascaras though.

In my make up bag just now is

Foundation Maybelline -Matte Mousse

Eyeliner - Rimmel Black

Mascara - Loreal Volumious

Blusher - Bourjouis

Lip gloss - Bourjouis

I don't really wear eyeshadow during the day unless I am going somewhere special, but I have quite a collection :D

Clinique - foundation
Victoria Jackson - lip glosses
Bodyshop - Mascara (tried expensive and didn't like)
Ultraglow - bronzer

Though saying that - if I haven't got much money I will happily go for cheaper products to suit my purse. Foundation is the one thing that I cannot do cheaply. I would rather do without.

Benefit. My WHOLE face is benefit!

But not my nails. Cause they dont do nail varnish!

But if they did, Id buy that too.

Benefit is great at blushers and tints and highlighters. I also like their undereye concealer and lemon aid for eyes. Somethings can be a bit....mask like.

Clinique lipsticks never fail me but the skin care is dreadful for my skin.

stila/nars/mac for eyeshadows. Only problem: too much to choose from

The cheapest liquid eyeliners are for some reason, always the best with great shaped applicators.

Estee lauder's skin care always suits my skin: although I'm lured by cheaper things (like the boots serum, they never feel as good on me)

If only I could find the ideal foundation and mascara and I'd be happy.

MAC, MAC and a little bit more MAC liberally applied with a trowel! I'm quite partial to Bobbi Brown eyeliner and YSL mascara.

I think Barry M nail polish is the best in the world.

I love MAC eyeshadows because they're so pigmented and am using a No 7 foundation which just ran out but that made my skin look a tiiiiny bit orange so don't think I'll be going back to it :( Also Urban Decay do lush eye liners, eyeshadows and pigmenty type eyeshadows. I think Max Factor do some of the best reasonably priced mascaras and every time I get something different I wish I hadn't! Bad Lash is so so good too though :) I think it's worth investing in good foundation that matches your skin well, and often eyeshadows are way nicer when more expensive, but sometimes e.g. Barry M do good pigmenty dazzle dust and it's really cheap when you compare it to MAC. OK, it's not as good, but the colours are amazing and I've never had a problem with their staying-power. I agree that cheap liquid eyeliners are often good and so don't see the point in splashing out on them unless they're coloured.

Overall I'd say MAC is my favourite expensive brand. GOSH is lush though if you're looking for a cheaper alternative as their colours are so nice :) They do really nice soft eyeliners :)
