Went to look at the i10 this morning, nice car, the salesman mentioned pre-pay service plan £485 for3yrs, £1000 for 5, so with the 5yr warranty no more to pay out for up to 5 yrs. If I can afford to pay 'up front' is it worth doing?

Seems jolly expensive servicing to me for a small car, i think my Hilux works out at about those total figures for services at the Toyota main dealer, thats a 3 litre diesel.
Not the first time i've heard that Hyundai main dealer services are overpriced.

Apart from that is this a Hyundai manufacturere deal or with the dealership which should it go bust you could lose out big time.

What does it cover? Do you get tyres for that price as well? Where will inflation be in the next few years (personally I think it will go through the roof)? Call up a dealership and get prices on each annual service and then you will be in a better position to decide. And is it transferable if you sell the car?

My MIL took it out on her lease car for 3 years (payable monthly) in the first year it was expensive hopefully in year 2 and 3 she will make up some ground when tyres start to become a factor. For her it is just one less thing to worry about. But marginal it might be in my opinion.

We are waiting for our i10 and i haven't decided whether to go for the service plan offered to us either. Bicketts in Kilmarnock(part of Verve Group) offered us 1st 2 services and 1st MOT for £300. They messed up our order form p/work(undercharged us) which i was aware of so i'm going to try and haggle £50 or so off it. I think i'll probably go for it because they are the closer Hyundai dealer to us. Have you tried haggling with them-i would have thought something like this they have a wee bit of leeway on like mats, extras, etc or i am wrong??

Sounds expensive. You also need to factor in if the deal is with Hyundai or the garage themselves cos if you have just given them £1k and they are bust by next year then it could turn out to be a very expensive service!
