This sounds very useful to me, but I have a Travelcard bought as part of my annual train ticket and from the looks of it, they are only giving compensation to Oyster card holders. I'd definitely like to claim something because the strike left me with four hour-long walks!

Does anyone know if there is a similar scheme for train+tube ticket holders, or will the strike days count in the train company statistics that they use to see if they have to discount next year's ticket?

I phoned TfL today and they confirmed the "goodwill payment" is only claimable for those with Oyster cards - those of us with train + tube tickets are not eligible. When I suggested that this was discriminatory and grossly unfair, I was advised to write in to customer services!!!

I will do so but am not holding my breath! Great situation - paid for the tube service in advance and when they don't deliver, I'm not entitled to any refund!!!!

I seriously don't see why TFL should offer the compensation; I mean the claimants will have only lost out on a maximum of about £15 of travel , and even then they could have used the buses/tram/train. The drivers work hard and I feel their strike was justified. Will be interesting to hear how people get on with TFL though...

Thank you for this. I knew that there is a compensation scheme in place but when I asked at the tube station's information desk (at three different stations!) I was told that there wasn't such a scheme.

Thank you. Why should those of us who have annual travel cards have to lose out.

That's what I want back. I'm not in the habit of throwing money away.

I didnt pay for a travel card to use buses/train/tram... I only ever use the tube.

Hm, you might try contacting your train company as well as TFL? Just a thought.
Seems a bit silly that you miss out if you don't have your travelcard on Oyster. It might just be that the system for claiming refunds is different; likely more complex as with Oyster they just bung the money on as PAYG credit.

Hi all. I used TubeMaestro - an App I found by searching on Google - to make claims throughout the whole period of the strikes. I worked on the basis that if I was delayed for 15 minutes or more (as per TFL customer charter) I would claim. Using TubeMaestro it took me a matter of a few seconds work to make a claim, which is the main reason I use it (there are plenty of other reasons as well, tube status, departure boards, tube map etc.) So far, ALL the claims I have made using TubeMaestro have been honoured and I have received the vouchers. I have received vouchers which total a value way over the cost of the license for TubeMaestro so I am now ahead on money :j. If, like me, you want to claim for delays, use this application - it is THE best way to claim quickly and simply. Hope this helps. Paul.
