I posted about my DDs car accident on here, but it was locked because of some nasty posts.

Anyway, don't want to interfere with it & take over, she wants to sort it out herself.

But the other lady has still not reported the accident to her insurance (must be three weeks now).

They are writing to her, but no response?

Is there a time limit on how long she can leave it without reporting the accident to her insurance?

No. It is simply a matter between her and her insurance company (which of course may have pertinent conditions in their t&cs).

It really depends on whether the other driver wants to claim under her policy or whether she wants to pay out in cash.

My mum had an accident where a scooter rider crashed into her car. He didn't complete his insurance forms for 6 months and only did so when our insurers lost patience with him and issued a court summons. Only then did he magically fill in the accident report forms and seek indemnity under his scooter policy!

Some people are just really lazy and scatty about things and don't attach the same importance to them that we do.
