I found Sainsburys own whitening toothpaste quite good. Might be worth having a look on the health&beauty forum (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=81)

That's a Pearl drops product, and it had a thread about it in Health & Beauty Moneysaving on this site.
I'd never heard of it, but I suspected it was a bit like Tippex for teeth.
Those that had experience of it backed up my suspicion that it was crap!
With 4 weeks to go, you've left it a bit late for decent whitening proceedures at your dentist. If yours offers something like Zoom, then that might have an effect if you can get booked in in time, but that can be quite dear. Effective though, especially if backed up by trat & gel afterwards (but that's more expensive still)
I really wouldn't mess about with anything DIY at this stage, or be tempted to go to an illegal beauty salon whitening boutique. You'd not have time to get it fixed if it all went pear shaped.
Go to your dentist for a good clean & polish and you'd be surprised at just what a difference that could make.
Hope the day goes well!
EDIT - Found the thread! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1608475
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1009335#post1009335)) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I've just started using a toothpaste called Rembrandt plus, my teeth are starting to look whiter already and i've only been using it a couple of days. Its quite expensive but seems good!

The paint on whitening is rubbish! Whitening toothpastes only remove stains, they will not be effective against the yellowing of the teeth- for that you need proper bleaching.
If you really want DIY bleaching then there is one product you could use that everyone owns- URINE!- bon appetite.

You're taking the pi$$??
NEVER overestimate the sense of the general public T.N.D.
Out there there WILL be someone stupid enough to read that and try it.
Now with their own, fresh stuff, they may well be harmed less than a beauty salon whitening - but if someone gives it a go with 3 day old dog pee.....

I have been using pearl drops smokers toothpaste for a while and I didnt think it was working. Now the results are starting to show.
Very impressed and only £1 from ASDA. I brush once a day with the smoker toothpaste and twice with normal toothpaste.

Be aware that 'smoker's toothpastes' are normally very abrasive.

I must recommend Creest whitestrips. They are only available in the US but many sites will sell them to the uk. They are proper hydrogen peroxide belach strips that you place on your teeth. Completely safe and exactly the same as what many UK dentists use. I am so impressed with them. You use them for 10 days and the results are absolutley brilliant
I purchased mine on ebay... i think they were about £20 for the 10 day course. Just beware of those sold in Hong Kong as they can be fake. Make sure they are sealed and genuine Crest products

Rubbish.
Not licensed in the UK, not 'compltely safe, and no dentist will use peroxide strips to whiten a patient's teeth.

Could someone merge this with the other whitening thread? Most of the issues have been discussed there.
