cant answer your question - as far as i know skin tones are warm or cool - cool are you pinks and whites, and warm are your more tanned apparence!! i work in optical retail and we advise people on skin tone - one women kept on about her yellow tones ( i had obstructive jaundice at the time and looked like homer simpson) she looked at loads of glasses (without trying them on saying they would not work with her yellow skin tone) i pointed out that i was the branch authority on yellow skin - and she agreed with me and began to try frames - we had to narrow her choice down from 15 frames!!

Don't wear makeup - you'll look better without it.

I am a blond, white blond as a child with blue/green/grey eyes I am warm toned. Oh and I do fry in the sun too, always did.
Look at the veins on your inner wrist. Are they blue then you are cool, if they are a more greenish tone then you are warm.

I am always confused by this, as I have been described as both by various people, hairdressers, beauty-counter ladies etc over the years. I have dark (Hmm!) hair and green eyes. Left unprotected, my skin would first go red in the sun, but then I tan quite darkly. I veer towards cool colours and white, but when I've had some sun I can easily wear bright orange, red and yellows too. I think I look ok in both gold and silver jewellery.
Just found this link , which is quite useful, it describes you as warm tone, cool tone or neutral tone. Think I must be neutral which explains the conflicting answers I've had all these years!

The veins on your wrist idea (blue for cool, green for warm) is the best and easiest idea, MAC suggest this method as well on their website, remember that these days foundation is so advanced you can play about much more especially with the mineral foundations an example of this is that I am very cool toned and use a yellow toned mineral foundation to tone down pinkness, I then perk up my skin with a touch of brown/pink blusher, then the pink is where I want it to be and I don't look rosy - hth.

use blue makeup for your eyes. Also use little marker to put a small accent on it. Don't use extremely violent colors, and gloss up your lips :).
