Hi everyone

Back in November i had an accident, during the cold weather we had i was coming down a step hill, when i put my foot on the break nothing happened and i slid down the hill until i hit a van. their was nothing i could do to stop the car, but as i hit them it was technicality my faiult.

We exchanged details and i reported it to my insurance company and also got letter from theirs stating they had the accdent reported to them. since then however i have heard nothing and the last details from my insurance company said althrough the accepted libility they had yet to have a response from theirs, this was back in jan.

My questions is, my insurance is coming up for renewal soon. so should i declar the claim, or as it seem to be disappering call it quits and act like it didn't happen, as i wont be out of pocket and neather will my insurance company. (except admin costs).

Since the claim has not actually gone through does it affect my NCD?

Just a few throughs, also any ideas if i want to do this how i should approach my insurance company?

Cheers

Obviously talk to your insurance company but I'd guess you'll have to put it down as a pending fault claim

Definately tell them.

I'm currently 'complaining' so to speak in a different thread.

I had an incident 3! years ago, which involved me standing outside of my car and a delivery van reversing into it. It was in no way my fault and the van driver's insurer sorted it out. I heard nothing about it from my previous insurer.

After 3 months on my new insurer, out of nowhere, it has been flagged up. I completely forgot it had even happened as it was resolved and not my fault. Now though, my insurer has voided my policy pending investigation and I may have to pay a higher premium, because I didn't delcare it.

Its ridiculous. Along with a huge inconvinience, so make sure you get it declared because if they flagged me up on such a silly non-fault incident, they are bound to catch you out :)
