Help please - when a car is under a 3 year warranty and is due for routine service, does the main dealer have to do that service. I think I heard somewhere that a garage can do the service as long as they use eg. citreon parts and can stamp the service book. As we all know, main dealers charge astronomical rates for services. But, if I went to an ordinary garage, who tells me he can stamp the service book and then I needed a repair under warranty - would that warranty still be intact. Help needed urgently - I don't want to be ripped off and waste money. Cheers

Yes I think its ok as long as any parts that are needed are genuine dealer parts

You can have it serviced anywhere as long as genuine parts are used and the servicing schedule is adhered to see HERE (http://www.oft.gov.uk/News/Press+releases/2004/85-04.htm)
