Hi,

looking to buy a new VW Golf but dealers wont budge on list price. Looked at a few websites and they are offering discounts which vary quite a bit. Does anyone know the best site to look at for the best deal.

Thanks in advance.

Do your own homework. If they wont budge on price then maybe you need to change your standards.

Try Motorpoint.co.uk

The reason VW dealers won't budge is that they are in short supply due to the car scrapping scheme in Germany.

The price you have been offered is already very good, it is £4k lower than the list. I would suggest you take it.

If that is the 110ps engine you have a good deal. Our VW dealers have given a min' 10% since the car was launched, and the price you've quoted (if you'll be the first registered owner and get the logbook immediately) is all the dealer's margin...so what more do you want?!
VW are giving no cash on them so the only discount is from the dealer's own pocket and at that price he is giving all but about 1% to 1.5% of it to you as discount..leaving him with under £200 left.
