World Book Day 2006 will took place on Thursday 2nd March
World Book Day (WBD) is the biggest annual event supporting books and reading in the UK and Ireland and the emphasis for 2006 is celebration. Schools, libraries, bookshops and other venues will be encouraged to hold book-related events, activities and parties. If you have kids, ask at your nursery or school what events they are holding and they should give you some £1 vouchers. These vouchers may even be available at your local library but I haven't checked this yet.
The vouchers themselves are redeemable against a book worth £1.99 or more in all bookshops participating in the initiative. The offer is valid 27th February - 26th March.
There are also specially produced £1 childrens' books for WBD 2006. See the WBD website for more details on www.worldbookday.com
Happy reading.
