Ok i'm at the point of starting to go to my hairdressers to get my hair coloured as dont seem to be getting anywhere with mine! I have naturally 'mousy blonde hair' and hate it! I have tried to dye it lighter and it either has gone gingery (no offence to red heads btw) or too light and cannot seem to get that inbetween.
Ideally i would like an ash type blonde that isn't yellowy or so light i look anaemic as i am fairly pale..
Have tried loads now and nothing changes, have just used nice and easy (thats all i tend to use) in 103 which is the lighter shade of the one i used before but loks the same..any lighter im scared! Thing is my hair grows really quick at the mo and i can see myself spending a fortune at my hairdressers so is it worth it?
Any ash blondes out there what do you use?!
Thanks

have u tried sun in?? u can use it gradually to go as blonde as u want to, either as highlights or all over (it is a peroxide base obviously but i dont find it as harsh)
cost approx £7.99 in superdrug and u just spray it on and blowdry your hair so is easy to use as well
when my hair gets dark in the winter i use it a few times, luckily in the summer i dont need it
<note to self more sunny holidays in winter would save on buyin sun in;)

Hi thanks for the reply..ok im not implying you have a funny blonde head BUT ive always thought of sun in and and those highlight kits as just as bad..does it actually go a nice blonde or yellowy again? Hair is so important i think and i think if you get the right colour you look so much better..unfortunalty i just cannot seem to!
What about coulors from hair places like sallys (the salons ones) are they better colours as have the option to go to there is need be!
please help before my hair drops out lol!

lol i prob do have a funny blonde head
what i like about sun is u can build it up, yes if u go mad and use it every day for 3 weeks u will go a weird colour but if u just use it sensibly to lighten yr colour a bit its fine
cant comment on colours from other places cos everyone i ever used seemed to make no real difference to my colour or just made if look duller so i gave up years ago

I'm a sort of ashy blonde (with grey bits creeping in). But having watched my friends having to continually struggle with doing their roots, I decided I did not want to colour my hair like that.
I used to have highlights and lowlights but they do cost a fortune and you do have the same problem with regrowth.
So now I have started using shampoos and conditioners for blondes, particularly Lush's blonde solid shampoo bar. I think this has lightened my hair and helped blend in the grey bits without going gingery (no offence to redheads though).
