we know that you dont have to pay for medicines. Does anyone know how this would work if you are abroad such as france? can you get a 100 % back or not pay the doctor? thanks in advance.

I don't know for certain, but I would imagine that you'd still have to pay whatever a French person would have to pay. Because the point of the E111 form (or whatever it is now) is that you are treated in the same way as a national of that country, not as you would be treated if you were in the UK, if that makes sense.

AFAIK the French usually pay upfront, and in some cases can reclaim via their National Insurance scheme, but that wouldn't apply to visitors.

I'm not sure about "low income with tax credits" but I do know that other benefits (and associated free medicine etc) cease if you leave the country. My jobseekers allowance was stopped when I went to Ireland for my grandmother's funeral for 3 days and I had to submit a new claim.
