Insurance Database?

Wonder if anyone can help?
I purchased new insurance on 20th March 2009, due to start on 13th April (Monday), however as this is a bank holiday i cannot tax the car at the Post Office, and it can only be taxed from the 13th April onwards.

My Question is, does anyone know how long the insurance takes to get put on to the insurance database, cos if this is before Monday, i can tax on line, if not i will need to wait until Tuesday.

Just coming off a driving ban, so i cant start insurance any earlier incase anyone suggests that.

It took 4 months for mine to appear on the MID and that was after going through the Ombudsman.

The majority of vehicles go on the database by the end of the day you ask for cover, there can be some delays though.

You could try checking through this website www.askmid.co.uk although you cannot tell if its shown as being covered by yours or the garage's insurance
