Does anyone know if Radium therapy is still used today in the treatment of Cancer? Or are there newer better therapies? Is it still used in UK/NI?
How long after (or if it it still used), completion of treatment would blood tests give the 'all clear'?. A day, week, month??? And then how conclusive would the blood tests have been % wise?
100%? 99.9%? 1%?
I have no ideas about the use of Radium, other than its (as I believe from Google) outdated nowadays.
Has anyone ever had it and what did it do to you?
Is it in any way (or the same), like the old fashioned 'Sunlight/Sunray therapy'?
Sorry so many questions, but I can't find answers on google and wanted to know a bit more. This information is not going to be used for any personal help in any treatment. I have an interest in it medically, but cant find the answers I am looking for.
Thanks in advance
LL

I found a PDF of an article regarding radium. It was considered a tonic in the twenties. http://www.fas.org/sgp/othergov/doe/lanl/pubs/00326629.pdf
There are a few links in it for further research.

Steve, would your wife be kind enough (if she has the time), to fill me in on some of the answers to my questions please?

Has anyone ever had it and what did it do to you?
Is it in any way (or the same), like the old fashioned 'Sunlight/Sunray therapy'?I don't know anything useful about Cancer therapy however I have read
Sunlight Robbery - Health Research Forum (http://www.healthresearchforum.org.uk/sunlight.html)
andUnderstanding Vitamin D (http://www.vitamindcouncil.com/)
If I had a cancer diagnosis I would get as much sunlight exposure as possible and would supplement with Vitamin d3 cholecalciferol as well.
During the winter our stores of vitamin d3 deplete and people who have a diagnosis/treatment for cancer in the Winter have less good prognosis than those with similar treatments/diagnosis in the summer. I would want my odds to be as good as the summer cancers and to achieve this I personally would spend as much time nude in the sunshine (sorry neighbours) as possible. The sun in the UK is now sufficiently strong to do some good around midday so go for it.

The dangers of melamonas are much overrated and these are the result of BURNING, providing you only stay out for long enough for the skin to glow you will have stayed outside for sufficient time to produce more than the daily 4000iu of Cholecalciferol you use daily.

Ensuring you have plenty of vit d3means you have maximum control of the growth/proliferation of cells. Even people with MELANOMA cancers should continue to get sunshine daily as the prognosis is better than for sunphobes. Melamona's directly attributable to sunshine are in fact less dangerous that melanomas which arise in places the sun don't shine on. Not only does vitd3 have it's own effect on cancer bright sunlight also has a beneficial effect on the melatonin cycle, this sends you to sleep if you have been outside in bright light during the day and use subdued lighting in the evening. People who sleep longest have the best cancer outcomes.
Getting a good melatonin cycle not only allows you to sleep longer it also sends your cancer cells to sleep allowing more time for effective therapies to have a beneficial effect.
Sorry I haven't the time to put the supporting evidence to each of these claims. As soon as I get my broadband back I will revisit this post and supply the documentation for the BENEFICIAL EFFECTS of vitamin d3 CHOLECACIFEROL (don't bother with d2 ergocalciferol the form most often in multiminerals/calcium mixes)

back in 1950 I had a treatment called Deep Xray,I believe it was Radium.
I had Dermatitis, and after only 3 treatments it was gone.
I thought it was wonderful,it was painless and only took a few minutes.
