So I bit the bullet and bought a Subaru Impreza.
She's a 97 Turbo 2000.

Not very MSE I know but I've been working hard
and deserved a treat.

Check it out

Nice, I always liked that model, especially in that colour. Shame about the back end though, I was never overly keen on the estate models. Much prefer a saloon with a proper spoiler.

Who cares if it's not money saving, enjoy it!

It may go like the clappers, but that is an ugly car.

Raptorman, start praying for snow, so you can practice those Scandinavian flicks, great fun in a scooby. :D

Sometimes its just worth it, I have had MSE cars in the past and it was no fun driving non turbo diesels, I'm considering getting a Cayenne, saw a cracking one on sunday with the full RUF treatment for silly money, am sorely tempted, even though it will only do sub 20mpg.

More evidence that expensive to run car prices are recovering right now.
Last year the market was awash in BMW M3's, good ones are getting harder to find again and the prices are firming up.

Good luck with the Scooby, my brother had a younger one, would be about 5 years old now, expenditure on fuel, tyres and insurance got to him in the end.

Indeed it is, their designers must be in a 1980's time warp. a pillar mounted aerial? It looks like the designers just gave up on it.

Oh, I know, I've had my share of cars that do 0-60 in a couple of days :rotfl: It's far more fun driving something like an Impreza - I'm a girl racer at heart :D

That's what hubby said when we bought our Nissan 350Z :D Bought it in 2005 on a 54 plate and thought we would have a year, maybe 2, of fun with it but we still have it.
I love it, its a fantastic car to drive and sticks to the road like its on rails.

It can be tail happy in the wet if you boot it but if you go steady with your right foot it's fine. I have more fun with when roads are dry, it scares me in the wet :D

When we were looking to get ours we enquired at our local Nissan dealer and they offered us a test drive for 3 hours. No obligation at all. That definately made our mnds up we had to have one.

We had to wait a while to get ours as we had our hearts set on a black one.

Thanks for that, I will book a test drive, so the salesman can be scared silly by my missus.

You need to find a dealer that has a demonstrator so you get the best test drive, just the two of you.
The first dealer we approached only had the Z they were selling so we had to go out seperately with the salesman. It was my first time driving a Z (I am real short so wasn't even sure I would reach the pedals) I nearly put us in a ditch within the first minute :o Once we got over that I was fine :rotfl:

Then we went to the second dealer (they had a black one we wanted) they had a demo so we got the Z for 3 hours. It had been ragged already so we ragged it some more. Would have been rude not to.

Done a deal on the black one that day and came home very happy bunnies.

Theres a Nissan dealer just down the road, so will try and get the 3hr test drive, that should be enough time for the oh to get it sideways. She really wants the GTR but seeing as its 30k more expensive here than in Japan, she cant.

That's the sort of thing my hubby would say too :D

Hubby especially likes turning off the traction control. Finds a nice quiet stretch of barely used road and has a little fun now and then.
