Yes unless it is really silly money that is required to get it through it's MOT.

What are they realistically worth as scrap?
What will they cost in parts and labour to get "sorted" ?
What are they realistically worth fully running, taxed and tested?

You have 2 cars?
Cutting down to one decent fun car that will be more economical than the V6 vectra will be money saving too.
Have you / can you work out total cost of ownership on both these cars for 1 year?
Gives us a budget for suggestions, you'll probably be surprised just how good a single car you can get for the same or less than you pay out on the current 2 cars.
Don't forget to include depreciation on both these cars as well as maintenance fuel etc.
How many miles do you do a year?

I was given the Vectra by my brother, i believe the car is of sound working order the only problem is the bonnet and drivers side wing are a different colour due to an small accident he had.
I think it should go through #MOT easily.
So to answer your question i do not spend anything on the Vectra at present only on the fiesta, about 20per week petrol for work. MOT due end of next month and tax.
i do about 5000 miles a year,
not had either cars that long.
I would love to be able to afford a new car but cant afford and do not think i could get credit due to my rating being low.
I think the only option would be to see how much it will cost for the vectra, then sell it and do the same with the fiesta?

I think sell off the Vectra if you can, but beware, few people will want an old V6, everyone wants cheaper to run. You could spend money on it that you never get back in a sale. You might not be able to sell it at all.
If the Fiesta is still reliable and viable for MOT might be best to keep it or spend at least £2K on something a bit younger like a Skoda Fabia, Nissan Micra, another Fiesta or Corsa. Toyota Yaris a good bet for £3K+

You'll probably be spending more than it's worth, taxing/insuring/MOT the Vectra.
Fastest way & cheaper than lots adverts in Autotrader & local paper, is e bay, with a good, true description & good fotos.
& to make sure you're legal, have you declared SORN to the DVLA, as it isn't taxed. Otherwise you or brother will be fined!!
& don't be tempted to take it for a test drive, or even run it up the road, if you've not got the insurance properly covering it!!
The Fiesta is the more Moneysaving one to keep, for now. Even if it means a couple hundred £$£$£ to get it MOT sorted.

Thanks for that, dont have any spare money so cant afford 2 or 3 grand for a new car hence my earlier question.
i think it might be a good idea to just sell it on Ebay?

I think if you put an honest advert on ebay for the Vectra and let it go for whatever you can get you stand a good chance of getting a buyer. There are people around who will pick up cars for just a few hundred, spend a bit on them and run them for a while.
Really doubt you will get your money back if you have to pay out for repairs to get through MOT.
If £50-£60 fee for MOT is all you need to spend to MOT it, would be worth doing.

Thanks you two.
i think i will put it on ebay an maybe put a small reserve on it. as long as people know it has no mot or tax then it should sell.
