View Full Version : Pigsback Boots vouchers question...

Stupid question alert:

I have no clue where to post this, so feel free to move it.

I've just landed myself £15 of Boots vouchers off Pigsback. Thankyou to this site for introducing me to it! :)

I am living on a very tight budget to try and pay my debt off, and want to use these vouchers to get dead cheap toiletries that I'd buy anyway.

Does anyone know if Boots give you change for the vouchers - ie. £1 vouchers or something?

I want to fill up on their 69p shampoo and conditioner but I don't think they'll have enough on the shelves!

I have one £5 voucher which is not so bad but it's the £10 one (ordered but not arrived as yet, so i may get lucky and it'll be two £5's) that worries me.

Hi,

according to the vouchers sitting in my wallet, change to the value of £1 or more will be given in vouchers.

Also, you may well get two £5 vouchers. I recently received £30 of Boots vouchers from Pigsback and was sent six £5 vouchers.

Checkout the Boots thread on Grabbit board for the best way to spend and save at Boots!

Boots are starting to do more and more in their basics range, maybe you could stock up on things out of that to use the vouchers. The stuffkeeps for ages and if its things you would be buying anyway then you are stillsaving in the long term.

They are slo currently offering BOGOF on all their bath products. Every single one. A lovely SA told me the offer runs out next Tuesday.

Pigsback are likely to send you 2x £5 vouchers; that's what I've always had from them.

In Boots at the moment, if you do spend £10 in one go (even if you pay with a voucher!), you will receive a £5 off voucher for certain skincare brands (some items cost less than £5, so effectively another freebie for you). Might be a nice way for you to treat yourself (or a partner - sorry don't know if you're male or female :o ) for free! :)

And you do have a Boots card, right? As you will earn points even if you're paying with vouchers.

And please do read the Boots thread on Grabbit (the first post has all the current bargains). :D

Oh yes, and if there's not enough stuff that you want on the shelf, you can always ask them if they have anymore at the back - they often do! (Sorry, that was a bit obvious! :o)

i had £60 of boots vouchers from pigsback, all fives so that's what you'll get i think.

kinda off on a tangent but do boots give out gift vouchers when you return something (without a receipt)? just wondered because couldn't you buy something for a tenner on bogof with your gift vouchers, then wait a couple of weeks till its the normal price then take them back seperately and get £20 in gift vouchers back?

of course i am dreaming because if this worked i think i would make it my full time job!!

they give out change etc on boots gift cards not vouchers.

When I spent my pigsback paper vouchers the SA simply put the change onto a gift card that I could use to spend the remainder when ever I wanted. This is what they should do as most stores do not carry paper vouchers anymore. HTH :p

Perhaps you could use your vouchers to purchase gift cards.

Just want to warn you that its entirely possible to get nicked for doing this as its obtaining money by deception.I have worked in shops where security staff have been well aware that this goes on,and customers have been arested.Dont want to see you people in jail!

My last post relates to the posting suggesting returning boggoffs

what about if somebody bought you something as a gift whilst on bogof and then you take it back? you're not to know whether it was bought as part of the offer are you?

Ok, lol didn't realise this would create such a long thread!

Just to update everyone,

I went out today and bought:

2x Basics foam bath (BOGOF)
2x Smile Total toothpaste (BOGOF)
2x Loreal shampoo (BOGOF)
2x Essentials conditioner.

I thought I'd added it all up properly so it'd cost me just over a fiver. And it was under! £4.63 so I got given change, in cash!

All for free. :T

To yorkshire pudding-clearly a person taking goods back once only on bogoff would not be arested, unless of course, the security staff from the various other stores had been following that person around /or had information and dates/times that the person had done this before.Towns have radio links and plain clothes staff probably would be well aware of a person doing this.Just because a person has been doing this unchallenged doesnt mean they havent been sussed, and is likely to be stopped when the circumstances are exactly right and a whole load of evidence obtained,Also many plain clothes staff go to work in a variety of different towns, yes people think if they do the same scam travelling to different towns and repeating the same scam, they cant get caught, but a person returning products which are or have been on bogoff would immediately catch the attention of staff and most probably be passed around the town on the radio link.If theres a scam 100 others have tried it first!Stores also have cctv and share images of suspects with colleagues and police. When i worked in stores its not uncommon for a person to do this at boots, then sainsburys then another store ie "my girlfriend bought these 10 bottles of suntan lotion, but shes cancelled the holiday.no i dont have the receipt."Police also can stop and question people on suspicion-so on balance this is probably not a wise way to make money.I repeat ,it is a criminal offence, obtaining money by deception.

I requested a Costa Coffee voucher; used it to buy 1 coffee and got change in cash; so am just that little bit more cash-rich...(just an alternative idea!)
