Hi all,

I'm thinking of selling my car, was wondering if anyone can recommend the best place to advertise? I don't want to spend lots on listing fees and not find any interest. It's not an urgent sale just the right time to sell if i'm going to any time soon.
Any experiences with autotrader? ebay? local paper?
Thanks

if its priced well then it will be easier to sell.
ive used ebay before successfully, also autotrader is a good place to advertise it.
firstly i would stick it on ebay, nationwide coverage and it only costs about £8 (it did the last time i used it to sell a car) where as autotrader will be more expensive.

What type of car is it?

Cheap car: ebay
Performance car: pistonheads
All others: autotrader

Just don't overprice it (unless it's small and economical as people are paying over the odds for these now).

Its a 52 Corsa. Locally they seem to be advertised at £3250 (private and trade) but that seems a bit steep to me. Think i'll look further at ebay

A bit too good for eBay I reckon, but eBay's good for checking what people are really willing to pay, by looking at the completed listings (http://completed.shop.ebay.co.uk/items/Cars__vauxhall-corsa_W0QQModelYearf0c65f14Z20031774c1Q7c20021774c 0QQLHQ5fCompleteZ1QQQ5ftrkparmsZ66Q253A2Q257C65Q25 3A2Q257C39Q253A1QQ_catrefZ1QQ_dmptZAutomobilesQ5fU KQQ_ipgZ200QQ_sacatZ9801QQ_scZ1QQ_sopZ2QQ_trksidZp 3286Q2ec0Q2em14) (link may not work). Ignore the classified ads as you don't know what these really sold for, just look at the green prices.

Looks like an SRi went for £4,450, a Design for £3,100, an SXi for £3,000 etc, right down to about £1,800 for a Comfort - after that it's all damaged or repaired or broken cars. All depends on mileage, condition etc as well of course.

I'd take whatever you think is an appropriate price, add 5% or so for haggle room and advertise the car on Autotrader - maybe only online at first. If you price it right it won't hang around for long.

Sorry, the link definitely won't have worked, because I forgot to put it in! It's there now.
