It wasnt as bad as I thought, Direct Line quoted £2017 fully comp. Which is only £600 more than he paid this year with Swintons. I was expecting a lot more after he wrote his car off in January.
Its not due for renewal until September, but if I put away £300 a month by then it can be paid in one hit.
I know its a lot of money compared to what experienced drivers with no claims pay, but for a young male inexperienced driver I think its a reasonable charge. It also means he will keep his job (he has to drive and have a car for his apprenticeship) It just means bank of mum and dad will have to pay out for longer.
I thought I would post this on the motoring forum in case anyone else had a similar concern. I googled and found very little information, so I did an online quotation with Direct Line.
Have a good weekend everyone
