Well done to everyone who completed the February challenge, and a warm welcome to all newcomers!
Here goes for another half stone challenge!
Don't think of how much you'd like/need to lose, just focus on losing those 7lbs for March! See, it doesn't seem so bad, does it ;-))
I use this site
http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/account/index.php
You set up your own target by inputting weight, height, how active your lifestyle is, and any medical conditions. Then each day you keep a food diary by inputting what you eat, and also an activity log. The site works out your calories for input (food) and output (activity). The idea is that you keep the input between 500 and 1000 cals below the output, but without dropping below the minimum food cals set by the site for your lifestyle etc. And best of all the calorie count site is free!
If you're interested sign up here and lets help each other :T
Remember - It's 2009 and we are doing just fine!!!

Ooo can I join? I'm a right fatty at the moment. Currently calorie counting for 1000 a day plus gym five times a week.
The last six weeks I've been averaging 1500 cals with easier gym sessions (400 cals) and have lost 4lbs. It doesn't seem enough for the effort so I am going hardcore!

Okay I halfway joined in January but dropped off.
I am currently 12.4, having dropped from 12.7 a couple of weeks ago. I'm back in my gym routine and off cheese and wine for lent.
I would love to lose half a stone in March, I have a big event towards the end of the month and really need to get to a stage where my clothes fit. Half a stone would also leave me overweight rather than obese.
Here's to March, I toast with my very sensible peppermint tea rather than my customary Friday night glass of wine :)

March is the month when we all really get going on this weight loss thing - I bet if we put ours minds to it, we can lose a whole person between us :D

Me too please gang!
My March motivators are....
Awards evening on 20th March - 20 days away...eeeek!
Hubbys B'day in May
Family wedding in July
When i want to eat junk or don't want to excercise - will think about those events and get motivated!
Am also planning to do more excercise in march

I'm 5 foot 7 and I started at 12 stone 10 bmi 27.92 on 5th January now i'm 11 stone 7 bmi 25.26
Ultimately I want to be a very slim 9 stone 12 so I have a long way to go - I've never had a 9 in my weight!!
The heavier I was the easier the pounds were to shift, now as I get back down to a 'healthy' weight its getting harder and harder. I'm having to exercise like crazy and eat very little. My current punishment is celebrity slim

Can I join in too please? :D
I have been trying to lose weight since September 2007 - I am 5'6'' and then I weighed 17st 4 lb  By Christmas 2008 I had lost 5 stone by healthy eating and exercise :j :j :j and dropped several dress sizes. I want to get my BMI into mid safe range so need to lose another 2 stone + I reckon.
The trouble is - I always 'relax' at Christmas and on holiday and put on a few pounds then get straight back into losing it again - never been a problem. But I put on weight over Christmas and new year and just can't get myself going again to lose it. I need to shift 5lbs to get back to where I was before Christmas and then another 2 stone.
I have a HUGE family do coming up in July which is my motivation - I will be seeing family I haven't seen for a few years so want to lose a good bit by then.
I need a serious kick up the bum to get back on track :rotfl: I refuse to lose all my hard work and I love the feeling of being able to buy clothes from anywhere so I know I can do this but finding it hard at the moment.
I think I need to dust off my exercise bike again
Good luck to everyone :T

March will be my 4th half stone challenge...
My weight has been up and down since I started the first challenge on 1st December (christmas and a three week AI hol in feb didn't help much!) but over-all the trend is down.
Most importantly for me, I am still under 12 stone (this was a major milestone as my weight shot up to 12st 10lb after a relationship breakup in November 2007, and stuck with me till I started these challenges).
However, enough excuses - I am really determined to get my half-stone award this month. I have come back from Turkey very tired after the travelling, which always knocks me about, but overall my health is more stable, so I may even get back to the gym this month (I stopped going to the gym due to a knee injury in August 2007, so that would be another major step forward)
EDIT - change that to I AM GOING BACK to the gym - I have just phoned them and negotiated a deal for no joining fee, no admin fee, no 12 month contract, and 4 free sessions with a personal trainer - £29.50 a month, off peak membership. I have to call in today and sign up, So I'd better dig my swimming cossie out and get down there! The no contract was a biggie for me because my health problems mean I have to be able to suspend my membership from time to time without penalty.

Weight today 239 and a half pounds
Height 65"
Age 39
Incentives for me: I need to drop a load of weight if I ever want to get my black belt in my martial arts class.
I will be 40 next January.
Going to Orlando at Christmas.
Fallen Arches and snoring would be helped by weight loss.

I know how you feel gemmzie - at my heaviest i was 12st2lb did sw lost just over 2st, fell off me, then i fell pregnant (literally found out a week after my final weigh in at sw) went back up to 12st. I lost the first 16lb fairly easily but my weight seems to go up and down so easily now. I've been trying to get back to my pre preg weight now for over a year and the lowest i've managed was 10st4lb, no amount of healthy eating and exercise seemed to help. Only thing is we've decided to try for another bubs this year so guatantee the same things gonna happen again:rolleyes:
Today....
B - cereal and banana
L - sarnie and muller rice
D - mum's sunday lunch yumm
Ex - going shopping so loads of walking, carrying heavy bags etc;)
Catch up with you all later x

First day of our challenge so lets all make it a good one shall we! Feeling good coz i've just had my porridge after 2 weeks of atkins! GOing to try low carb and healthy eating this month i think with lots and lots of excercise.... i'm a bit of a diet tart but have finally realised i need to make a long term change in our family's eating habits so want to do stuff that i can keep up!
Starting weight as of today is : 13st 5lbs
which means i lost 1-2lbs in february. Will use these scales for weigh in and wii fit for BMI checks to keep me on track!

I am aiming to get to around 12 stones by the time we go to France in August (am 15st 8lbs at the mo) and my mini challenge is another stone off by Easter - we are going to visit my parents and I was 16st 8lbs when I last saw them!

I'm starting this month's challenge at 11st 5lbs, which means only a loss of 1lb in Feb, but onwards and upwards!! I'm now over my cold :D which means I can get back to proper exercising.
Today hasn't gone too badly...I started off with very good intentions and had a bowl of porridge for brekkie. Every Sunday we go round to OH's parents for lunch - today mum in law served up a massive bowl of chicken curry which I only ate half of and I resisted the naan breads but had a couple of glasses of wine. Dessert was a lemon soufle type thing from M&S probably loaded with calories but I enjoyed every spoonful! Took the dog for a long walk while the footie was on to burn some of it off, and am still stuffed from lunch so probably won't eat anything for tea
I'm not going to be following any diet as such - I just wanna continue cutting out all the rubbish from my daily diet and starting eating properly and getting regular exercise. I want to lose at least 5 lbs this month, if I can get down to 11 stones I'll be a happy bunny :D

I'm back in for March. Feb has been a disaster I will be lucky if at my weigh in tomorrow not to have gained overall.
Anyway, scary went on the weight watchers site to do my BMI 42  thats horrendous. So all my Old WW books have come out and its down to business, I've said that before but 42  is a big wake up call.

Morning all!
OK, I waited till this morning to weigh in, here is the result:
Weight 60.4kg (1.1kg or 2.5lbs lost since 1 Feb!) :j
Body fat 26.7% (down from 29.6% on 1 Feb) :D
Waist 28.2 inches (down 0.8 inches since 1 Feb)
I am pretty chuffed, even though I didn't make the half stone! Edinburgh involved quite a lot of eating, although I did my best and skipped desserts etc.
So I'm now 9.5 stone. My target for March is the full half stone, if I can be 9 stone (57 kg) by the end of the month I will be very happy.
Today I am going to the gym to get me off to a good start, good luck to all of us!! :j

well done Tara :) I'm going to walk today again lol my aim to walk approx 20 miles a week to help ditch the 5lb i want this month (that's to and from the city or uni 5 times). Need to get motivation to go back to the workout DVDs! Had an off food day yesterday. not totally obismal but not a great day. it involved ice-cream lol.
Oliver - i would like to ditch another 2 stone in the long run too :) 11lbs to my first mini target (which would be a total of 2 stone off from my starting point) and then will work on the last 17lbs lol.

Thanks for the kind words aytch, EmmyLou and littleemmie, I didn't hold out much hope after gaining and losing the same couple of pounds all month! The big push last week must have paid off. And also giving up sweets, obvious as it seems. It looks as if Lent is going to be good for weight loss! Now I know anyone could tell you that giving up sweets and biccies would shift a few lbs, but sometimes I do need to be reminded of such things. :D
Today I am going to be sooooo good! I really really want to shift half a stone in March.
lucyhope, don't give in to the craving! Maybe some exsmokers can give you some tips? p.s. don't sniff at the 1lb loss, it is still progress xoxoxo

Sneaking in to say I am really hoping I've lost a lb :) and that it sticks around till official weigh in tomorrow morning. I did have a pretty good weekend, not drinking really does take away a lot of the temptation to overeat. Although I did have a flapjack yesterday :o
Lucy you gotta stay off the cigs, the chemical cravings are well gone by now so it's purely psychological. It's a really hard thing to do so well done to you!! And Tara well done on the loss, I think it gets a lot harder to lose weight the closer to target you are and most of us can only dream of being where you are right now.

belfastgirl, thanks - I know I am not that heavy, but when you are only 160cm tall the flab really shows! And I can't fit into any of my skinny clothes so there is a MSE element to it as well!!
I literally have hardly anything to wear and it is a bit depressing at times - that's when I snapped and realised that I couldn't go on like this and that's when I found you lovely people. :)
If someone would buy me a whole new wardrobe in bigger sizes maybe I wouldn't bother losing weight LOL! But since I don't have a sugar daddy (and am too tight to fork out for piles of new stuff) I'll just have to slim back into them! :D
p.s. good luck with your weigh in tomorrow xo

Tara747 I know exactly what you mean! I am short too (had to buy child size sellopettes for skiing this year!) and the slightest bit of weight put on shows straight away on me as it is quite limited as to where it can go!!!! At the moment I've only got a few items of clothing that I'm happy to wear as they are long and cover everything so I can't wait until I feel comfortable wearing a few other bits again.

Afternoon all!
As of this morning I am 13st 1lb :embarasse
40 years old and 5'8"
While I manage to get a bit of exercise in my problem is portion control. I need to understand that my metabolism is not the same as it was when I was younger-and must reduce my portions.
We don't really have the funds for me to sign up to SW or WW so I will be doing it on my own. I think I know what to do, but there is knowing what to do and actually doing it.....
Anyways, I'm off for a 5 mile walk with a friend before we collect the children from school.
Best wishes to all for March slimming!

claire, that's amazing, 8.5lbs, woo hoo!!!!! :D
I went to the gym as promised, managed 315 calories on the treadmill. :) I actually could have stayed abit longer but had to go back to work. I have also climbed 11 flights of stairs so far today, I keep making myself do some every hour or two. Lunch today is a Greek salad with low fat feta. I am trying to atone for the eating fest in Edinburgh TBH!
Weigh in day for me is going to be Tuesday and Saturday every week. I can't keep away from the scales for a week at a time (well done to those who can), so 2x per week it is.
I have a good feeling about March ladies!

You really put me to shame when it comes to exercise hun :o I really need to get exercising this month, as i've not really done much recently apart from walking the dog. And with wii fit and my fitness coach sitting in my living i really have no excuse:o :rotfl:
Oh and meant to say good for you for cutting your weigh ins down to twice a week. I used to weigh myself obsessively, but honestly it does more harm than good in my experience.

Can i join please??? ;)
I'm a 20 stone woman made entirely of flubber, and i'm angry
Last year i put myself through 9 months of hell on Lipotrim, the three shakes a day thing (450 calories a day + lots of water) and lost nearly 6 stone! I was so chuffed to be a whole pound under 17 stone, and now i'm back up to bang on 20!!!
I'm going on holiday on 18th of May and would like to weigh under 18 stone, so 7lbs a month seems like a good place to start!
Plus i'm running the Manchester 10k on the 17th of May (hence the holiday, lol) so i'm at the gym 3 times a week, doing cardio and weights, so hopefully if i cut back on carbs, and all hidden sugars, then the weight should just drop off *finger, toes and everything else i possess crossed*
tara747
02-03-2009, 3:21 PM
claire, I am going to find it soooo hard not to weigh every day but I will stick to it!
The exercise is really necessary, as I like my food! Seriously, having done it once before - the only way to change your shape and lose weight properly is through exercise. Improving diet alone will help, but exercising will really give better results. TBH, if it hadn't been for exercise last month I might not have lost an ounce! As it is, I am a tad disappointed that I didn't lose more, but I am focusing on the positives. I can see small physical changes as well, so that is motivating me.
How did you lose 8.5lbs anyway????
OK, off to do some more stairs...

Well done on signing up for the 10k and all the gym-going, that weight will fall off you! You seem to be doing very well so far. :D
450 cals a day is starvation, I'm sure you're glad you're not doing Lipotrim any more! I'm trying to cut out sugary crap too, am off sweets, choc, biscuits etc for Lent so fingers crossed!

Well done tara and clare:j
I'm not having the best of days today foodwise:rolleyes:. I was really good yesterday, ate smaller portions and more veg and did plenty of exercise but today i seem STARVING all the time.I'm just craving sugar and fat - not good!!! My OH thinks i'm maybe not eating enough for all the exercise i'm doing but i'm not sure. Just logged on to bOOts diets to add in what i've eaten and steps taken so far today and i've only got 305left:eek:, and that not including any drinks i've had (milky coffee etc..)I've not actually eaten loads , just the wrong stuff. I nearly died when i added the cheese pasty i wolfed down for lunch - nearly 600cals and 30grams of fat, worst part was i didnt even enjoy it, and i'm still hungry.
Walked close to 15000 steps and i will be going on my wii fit later so i'm thinking i'll just have a healthy filling dinner and go over my daily allowance for today otherwise i know i'll end up being a piggy later.
Today...
B - cereal
L - cheese pasty
T - soup and roll and mullerlight
S - banana and snackajacks
Ex - 15000+steps, 30mins on wii fit
Sorry for waffling on, i feel much better now tho x

Hello Everyone,
Count me in for March again - I was a late comer to Feb and only managed to lose about a pound (if that!) but this challenge and everyone's support has made me absolutely determined to lose the half stone this month.
That way, I hope I can be at my realistic weight in about 3 months which when put like that, is excellent - just in time for summer and skimpier clothes :) !!!
My plan is at least exercising 3 times a week and eating better - no naughty snacks or chocs and trying to cut back on the old boozing too. Likely to go out of the window this month with several birthdays and whatnot but I'll give it a shot (no pun intended!).
March is going to be the turning point guys - let's DO IT!
Hugs to all,
NTL

I havent done too badly today:
Breakfast - mug of coffee and slice of dry toast
walk to bus stop, bus into town then a 2 mile walk to the place where I was having a meeting, 2 miles back to the bus stop. Then after lunch, missed the bus so walked quarter a mile before getting on another bus to the terminus (I was off to another meeting), lift back but got dropped off near to shop, walked to shop then walked home. So I haven't done too badly for exercise.
Lunch was a cheese sandwich on wholemeal.
Tonight will be a thin pizza.

It's great to see everyone! Hopefully there will be a lot less of us in 29 days time! I weighed and measured this morning to give me a start point and yep 293 so I HOPE to be 285 by the end of March - I started back on Rosemary Conley again today (and tracking my food - I discovered that I was back to really not eating - I consumed 400 calories yesterday and that was a day when I thought I had really eaten way too much ) - Dr Dragon has just been to get the shopping so lots of tasty healthy veggies back in the house!

nickynoo, don't stress over what you've already eaten today hun! You've had a lot of exercise which will more than offset it. Just have a sensible dinner and you'll be fine xo
katiejones, welcome and good on you for signing up for the RFL!
never too late - good on you having plans and you sound very positive too, go girl!
Horace - are you still aching after your car washing antics?
Dragon - how do you manage to eat so little?? I'd be chewing the carpet hun! Take care of yourself and good luck with the RC. ((hugs)))
I'm not going to the LBT class tonight, OH has suggested the cinema and promised to have no popcorn and pick'n'mix so as not to tempt me! Bless him. I've done ok today anyway. I'm going to try going to the gym again tomorrow to fit an extra session this week, see how I get on. I want to step the exercise up a gear now that I'm feeling a little fitter.

The doctors kept telling me I was over eating (I must have been 'cos I was so fat ... right?), so being a good Dragon I kept cutting down, then they told me to cut down more, so I did, then cut down more, so I did, then .... well you get the picture! Eventually I said I couldn't cut down any more (and Dr Dragon who was there with me agreed), the doctor humphed, asked me to keep a good diary for a fortnight and then to go back - the first thing she said was "you're not eating enough":eek::mad: BUT the outcome of this is that any sign of stress, illness, feeling down, feeling happy I STOP EATING! My metabolism is shot to pieces and I still have to take the medication which piles weight on *sigh*

Dragon - I remember you telling me this before, I just wonder how you physically manage to eat so little! Aren't you starving? And there I am trying to train my brain (and stomach) to accept that it can't be fed every two hours!!!
(((((big hugs))))) to you Dragon and boo hiss to those silly doctors!!!

Dragon,
When you're well, how often do you exercise and what sorts of physical activity do you do? I'm no expert but this is definitely the best way to control/cut down your weight WITH a sensible, healthy eating plan - not a no eating plan!
I'm sure that when you don't eat your body holds on to the food it does get and store it as fat, thereby defeating the object. And when you do start eating properly again, you'll just pile weight on so it doesn't sound like a good way of life to me
HTH!

Am feeling motivated for March. Tara, are you doing the Between the Bridges run on Sun? On the Westlink - it's the official opening and the only time in your life that you will get the opportunity to do so. Go on, sign up for it!!
Have been out running this evening - managed 4.99 miles according to Map my Run - my furthest yet!! Lucky I did cos I stuffed my face with a pack of McCoys earlier :o .
Breakfast was porridge with s sk milk and sprinkling of sugar. 1 slice toast with Low Low.
Mid morning was Muller Light with grapes.
Lunch was low fat cheese and ham sarnie and McCoys!
Dinner was 1/2 bowl of my delicous hm lentil soup and 2 slices of bread and butter. I say 1/2 bowl cos I was eating it out of the pot before I went for my run and then when I came back was not hungary - now of course I am hungary but it just seems too late to eat now.
Anyhoo, keep up the good work everyone and hopefully March will see us all being a bunch of losers! :D

Leothecat, are you in Belfast? I had heard about that run but didn't realise it was this weekend. How long is it? Are you doing it?
Cinema was good, we had no snacks (v. proud) but I had 4 oatcakes when I came back, oops! But we walked there and back so about 50 minutes in addition to the hour I did earlier.

Hii all,
zzzlazydaisy... can you count me in again ( can't remember if i already asked - although did update my siggy for march challenge a couple of day's ago! )
Decided that i am going to change my weigh in day to friday, just because i tend to eat more at the weekend, so if i do, it gives me more time to get it off for the weigh in (if that makes sense!!LOL!!).
Total loss for feb 12lb's which is fantastic!!
Really looking forward to the march challenge!
Good luck everyone!

I have never been a great one for large amounts of food - not even when I had a very active job (doctors at that time were worried cos I was underweight - can't win can I :rotfl:), um the only exercise I can do now involves Dr Dragon, a bed and ..... well I don't think I need to go any further :o:p:D - a shattered ankle, broken pelvis and broken breast bone do not lend themselves to me being a gym bunny any more! (oh by the way I was never one of the lycra clad, mirror gazers - more a "get off that machine I want to use it!" bunny - think the vicious bunny from Monty Python and the Holy Grail!)

Well done poshstock - fantastic loss! :j Pls share any tips!
Dragon - can't believe how much you eat - or don't eat!
Studentmidwife - are you in brum?? I'm sure we met in Boots last year over the mirrors and no7 glitch at the fort! Fantastic loss - bet you're looking gorgeous! I need to lose about the same - pls tell us all how you've done it....
Me...... haven't got a clue what's going on with me at since the weekend! Since blooming pizza hut on sunday, feel like i'm eating loads and feeling bloated and fat  Not eating any snacks but have been had "normal" main meals yesterday and sunday, i.e. curry and chappattis, cauliflower cheese grills etc. Last week,i would have laughed in the face of such food...
Did 40 mins again on Wii fit yesterday and its told me i've GAINED 3lb and weigh 13stone 8lbs since Saturday and BMI gone back up to 31.something... was down to 30.83. Very disillusioning as i'm still eating much better than i was pre Feb and that's a big blooming gain so more to get off now
Couldn't go swimming yesterday as the pool was full by the time i got there  ...people queue up early to get tickets to the ladies only sessions so well annoyed as i have been trying to go for the past couple of weeks.
Am gonna have a good food day today as i'm going to work and already packed my grapes and yoghurt to take with me and will have a jacket with that darn cottage cheese for lunch ...... followed by chicken or salmon with grilled veg tonite - only fruit as snack...
Going to the Size Down class tomorrow morning so will see that they say and try to eat accordingly ..
Hope no one else is getting fatter!

Hi everyone and thanks for the congrats,
I'm following WW and I'm finding it really works for me. I've been on it for nearly 5 months now which is the longest I've ever stayed on a diet. I think the reason its working is because I track everything that passes my lips which has made me a lot more aware of what I'm eating. When I look back I can't believe the amount of calories I used to get through in a day - its no wonder I was so big!!
I've also started exercising and am in training for the Race for Life in June!
plzhelpmesave! (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.html?u=106008) - I do live in Brum but don't go to the Fort. It was probably one of my friends though. What colour hair did she have?

Morning everyone,
I've stopped stressing about yesterday, today i WILL be good;)
Wow poshstock well done on your loss.
Plzhelpmesave - not sure if i totally trust my wii fit for weight, do you find it accurate? I always wear the same thing (nothing) when i get weighed and my normal scales always tell me summat different. Not that i trust them either - according to them my body fat is only 16%:rotfl: , yeah right!!!!!
Today....
B - cereal and banana
L - soup and roll and apple
T- pork casserole with loada veg
S - snackajacks and muller rice(if i need it:rolleyes: )
Ex - 15000+steps, 30 on wii fit

Wow, well done poshstock!
I had to weigh in last night instead of this morning as I have workmen in the house and I thought I'd look a bit silly in my pyjamas waiting for the wii fit to announce how heavy I am :rotfl: Anyway, apparently I've gained 1lb which I'm not surprised at as I'm feeling very bloated at the moment . With the exception of that though, I'm actually beginning to feel a bit thinner. OH laughed at me when I told him that I feel like bits are looser rather than a big bit of fat like normal!!!!
Did 30mins freestep on the wii last night and I was swinging my arms like mad which really wore me out!!
Have a good rest of the week everyone

((((((hugs))))))) to the Dragon, poor you, you are in the wars!
plzhelpmesave, never mind the scales, you are doing so well with your eating and exercise! Shame about the pool, I would be so annoyed!
littleemmie, I LOLed at the image of you and the builders! Never mind the 1lb, is it TOTM?
I have done 5 flights of stairs so far this morning and will do some more shortly. How good is stair climbing for weight loss/toning? I used to work on the 7th floor and always used the stairs, that was back in my skinny days mind!! There is bound to be a link. I am also going to the gym at lunchtime, I feel like I'm getting a bit fitter so will go for one extra session this week.
Breakfast today is a boiled egg and low fat bio yog. Lunch is a HM superfood salad (spinach, pomegranate seeds, brazil nuts, yellow pepper, toms, bulghur wheat and tuna), cannae wait to have it. Dinner will be a lamb and veg pilaf, mmm.
I am going to push the boat out a little this month and buy extra healthy stuff and not worry about the cost too much (within reason, this is MSE after all). My spending diary will tell the story at the end of the month! It is fine though, as I won't be buying sweets and if I end the month half a stone lighter it will be well worth it. Last month I spent £170 on groceries (for two of us) so it'll be interesting to see if being slightly less frugal makes much difference to that total!
Here's to an excellent day today for all of us!

Hi, can I join you?
I'm on WW, only been on it since 8th Jan, but have lost 12½lb so far, so not too bad. Losing a bit of motivation at the moment. My weigh in day is Thursday. Got on the scales this morning and I have put on 1½lb this week! So must make a big effort between now and then, just so that I can STS.
You are all doing really well, and after reading the thread, have helped my motivation. So please put me down for your 7lb lose in March, I WILL DO IT!
Thanks Taffy
littleemmie
03-03-2009, 10:57 AM
Tara747 - Yep, fraid so. I'm determined not to eat more, like I normally would, because of it though. There are no unhealthy snacks in the house at the moment which is helping a lot. I really envy you being able to do loads of stairs! Ours are so steep I'd be afraid I'd end up summersaulting down them if I went up and down too many times!
Breakfast today was weetabix and I've just had a muller healthy balance corner yoghurt thing. Not sure what lunch will be yet as workmen have taken over the kitchen - might have to buy something on my way home from work a bit later. Dinner will be something with chicken but until the workmen are out the way I can't actually see what else I have in the cupboard/fridge to go with it!!
How does everyone else's OH react to your challenge? Mine is naturally very skinny, despite eating like a horse, so I feel bad for buying/cooking food that is designed for my weight loss. He is very supportive though, and has stopped buying chocolate and biscuits as it will just tempt me. I just feel guilty about him not having certain things because of me!
Hi taffy1969 :hello: 12 1/2 lb loss is great!

marmalade555 - you go girl, put all the bad food behind you! There are still 4 weeks left of March so you will be fine!!
littleemmie, at least you have an excuse for being bloated. My OH can eat whatever he wants too, but is supportive of me trying to lose weight. We eat pretty healthy dinners anyway so it's just a matter of me having a smaller portion/more veg/less starch on my plate. Although he is resisting my efforts to get him to go low fat in cooking e.g. he will still put cream in a dish rather than fromage frais  and then wonder why I don't want to eat it!!! grrrrrrrrr
Welcome taffy and congrats on your achievements so far!
I so don't want to go to the gym, just so busy today. But I will have to drag myself there - it is a stress reliever so I probably need it.

If you weighed in the evening not the morning then you have probably actually lost! you can normally put on about 3 pounds during the course of the day - just with general food and drink so panic not over that!
I managed to get to over 1,000 calories yesterday :j which pleased me and Dr Dragon (and in answer to what does your OH think about losing weight - he wants to shift about 30 pounds as well so he is trying to lose but he has a crisp habit!)

I had the salad, it was very nice although the pomegranate seeds were MINGING, far too sweet for a salad!!! I am going to make a nice non-alc cocktail with them later, ha ha!
I only managed to burn 150 cals in the gym, my legs just weren't feeling up to it but I'm pleased that I went. I've also done 20 flights of stairs and might squeeze in another few goes before going home.

I'm very impressed though, how an earth do you manage so much stair walking? Do you get funny looks? Methinks our office with it's massive 2 floors is probably too small and anyway, I don't think I need to give people here any more reason to think I'm a bit strange :D
Dragon - yummy, an omelette, I reckon you may have just sorted out dinner for me too! Glad you're upping you're calories intake. With regards to being more physical - firstly, don't knock the positive effects sex have. As well as releasing endorphins to make you happy, it is a form of exercise so enjoy! Secondly - when you're back to full strength, do you tend to walk or cycle much? Not sure how much a dodgy pelvis restricts you but guess it is a pain.

Tara - go you! You are going to reach your goal in no time at this rate!
I've just done 35mins on the wii fit - jogging, boxing and some stretches. Will do some more during CSI later, maybe 30mins free step and 30 mins free jog. I'll see how I feel later! Got to do something to keep warm anyway as workmen have taken the old boiler away (and put it on the pavement outside the front door ) so we have no heating or hot water again for tonight. Dinner will probably be steak and ale pie as OH has just text and asked if I can cook something that leaves him very little washing up as he is tired! I'll only have a small portion though.

Hi Tara,
No, not in Belfast - just down the road in Bangor.
Am doing the run on Sunday and looking forward to it I think??!! You can do either 5 or 10 k - I'm doing the 5k as that's about as far as I can run without stopping. Why dont you have a look and maybe join in? www.betweenthebridges.org.uk (http://www.betweenthebridges.org.uk)

Hi!!
Just wondered if anyone can join?
I am currently trying to lose weight for some upcoming family weddings in May, as I want to slim down and fit into a nice outfit..
I started after xmas, by joining the gym, cutting down on what I eat and just trying to be a bit healthier in everything I do.
I am doing OK, but could do with a little more support as my willpower sometimes disappears, so I think this challenge thread could really help me.
I was 15st 2 just after xmas and todays weighing I am 13st 12, so slowly losing weight.
Today's food intake
B: 2 x brown bread toasted with peanut butter
L: Hummus, 2 x pitta breads, red pepper sticks, carrot sticks, matchstick box size piece of cheese
D: 3 small HM meatballs, sauce, pasta, carrots, mangetout, green beans & muller corner for pudding.
Exercise: 30 mins on exercise bike

LOL! I work in a big building with lots of floors, and strangely hardly anyone uses the stairs so nobody really sees me! I just use any excuse to go to a different floor and walk back up. It's getting easier anyway!
nickynoo - for your tea, maybe something with couscous, meat and veggies? It would be filling and very tasty and could be eaten cold if needed.
Leothecat, I am tempted to do the run on Sunday but not sure if I can do 5k non-stop at the mo tbh! I'll think about it, promise.
I ate quite a stodgy dinner, oh dear! I actually forgot to weigh this morning (shock) and haven't pooed for about 3-4 days (TMI?), so am dreading what tomorrow morning's reading will be!

Was really good all day today, until tonight! Went shopping today and bought the girls their sweets and chocolates. They don't eat many so what I bought should last them the month. Then I ate (mini size) mars, snicker and bounty!!!! what a pig. Hopefully the rest of the day will make up for it.
Never mind, onwards and upwards. Better day tomorrow.

Just a quick post. Just added the dreaded chocolate to my points on my WW tracker = only half a point over! That is brilliant. Considering between them they totalled 10!! Obviously my fault for trying to save too many points, because I have been bad at the weekend.
Tomorrows food is planned, as have a busy day. If I get peckish between meals I WILL EAT FRUIT!!!
Have a good day everyone, wasn't as quick as I thought it was going to be!

Morning peeps! Has everyone read Martins tips and signed up for the free £20 ING loophole???
Welcome newbies!
Icecubequeen - you've already lost 2 stone this year!! well done hun, that's good doing.
Taffy - i was thinking about getting in some mini cholocated but knew i'd end up eating more than one full one so left it! Don't know how my willpower has lasted this long!
Littlemmie - go girl for all your Wii fitting! I've done it every day (except sunday) for the few days, but I'm sticking to the free step - don't really know why but just keep doing that or the darn bubble which probably doesn't burn any calories - does raise my blood pressure though when i pop! Think i need to follow your lead and get back into a mix of stuff.
well just had porridge for brekkie with nuts and seeds - so Atkins is done and dusted with! I'm going to a Size Down course session today - 2 hours for 6 weeks where they will talk about healthy eating proper weight management so will see what they say and then adapt my eating AGAIN!!
Did my 40 mins of Wii last night and will do it again today. Really wanted a treat last night after i put the kids to bed - but instead got the wii out so was quite proud of myself! Wii says i've lost 1lb from the day before when i'd gained 3 so that's something!
Have a good day all xx

Good luck today everyone :D
I am going for another long exercise bike session today and am just off shopping for dinner. Think I will have a piece of fish with some mixed plain veg or salad tonight. I am so lucky that actually I really like veg/salads/fruit :j
Craved chocolate last night but had a 40 calorie Options hot chocolate drink and that helped :D

Hi LilMissEmmylou! Gosh it's a small world. I'm a town centre girl - Princetown Rd (the poor end ;) ) and am currently living behind the Abbey.
2 of my best friends here are Liverpool girls, married to Bangor men.
Anyway, been off sick yesterday and today - feeling crap so no excercise :o.
Weighed in this morning and have 1 & 3/4 lbs off so yay but dont know if this is just cos I havn't actually eaten anything. I suppose the next few days will tell.
I hope it's going well for everyone. Keep going losers! :p

I'm 61.4kg today, a whole kg heavier than on Monday! :( But I am not going to dwell, will just keep up the good work and see how I get on.
I am such a greedy pig this morning, I have eaten 2 slices of wholemeal bread with jam, 4 cream crackers, a large handful of grapes and 2 oatcakes already!!! On the plus side, I walked to work via a longer route which added up to over 5,200 steps. The sky is blue here, I am tempted to go walking at lunchtime instead of gymming if it stays like that! And I'm going for an hour's walk this evening to return a DVD.
Good luck today peeps!

its such a lovely sunny day today here :) I do have to get a lift into uni though which is a shame because I would really enjoy the walk in this weather :( But I shall walk home when I have ditched all the heavy books :D Might even take DD on a walk to the park at dinner time depending on how dark it is and if the weather stays nice :)
Fluffy im envious I would love to love veg/salad and fruit lol - enjoy ur bike session and 40 cals drink isnt bad at all! I try to go for a 100cal cereal bar or a 40 cal ice lolly if im crumbling (can see the ice lollys getting really popular for me in the summer lol)
plzhelpme - ive just realised your 7lb aim this month does for u what my 5lb aim does for me haha who would have thought we would be happy to be "overweight" LOL. But I see it as a huge milestone. Not just weight wise but healthwise - woohoo we r getting there :D
taffy - doh re the mini chocolate bars BUT is it better than the choice you would have made before? less than before perhaps :) If so I still think you did well to cut down and well today is a new day so make it a good one :D
Leothe cat - i have come accross loads of Bangor people on here lol. Once in tech help the only people who answered me where 2 blokes both from Bangor! And I met another girl at a carbootsale from on here that was interested in cloth nappies lol. Great stuff. Bangor is the centre of the world afterall - all the best people come from it... Snow Patrol, Zoe Salmon.... us :D
tara i do hate to say this - but do u think that perhaps ur desire for weight loss is a bit futile? I think the reason you yoyo around the same weight is because its your bodies natural healthy weight to be. If I was you I would concentrait on just staying healthy as 9st 7 is not fat or overweight by any streatch of the imagination. I don't mean that in a nasty way, just you always seem down when you have gone up a lb or 2 but a day or 2 later ur back down again to what u where (which is perfectly normal to yoyo around a weight when ur maintaining) and I don't think you need to be so hard on yourself.
tara747
04-03-2009, 11:33 AM
EmmyLou, I get what you're saying but I am not just maintaining, I have gained 1.5 stone in the last year and a half or so. And (crucially) a lot of it has gone on my middle, which is very bad for your cardiovascular system. I've never had a belly before!!
I know I am within the normal BMI range, but losing a stone would still keep me within it, just towards the middle/lower end rather than the upper end. I was around 8 stone for a long time and I know that my body is quite happy to be that weight. If I'd always been the weight I am now I'd probably doubt that I could get there, but I know I can. Also, my weight gain was due to two major factors: eating larger portions and too little exercise.
I used to be fit and eat sensibly! And I let that go for a while (novelty of coupledom and domesticity with OH etc :o ) and now I'm just trying to get back to the way I was before - not a diet, but a lifestyle.
Again, I know it will be harder for me to shift the weight as I am fairly close to my 'ideal' weight, but I look and feel very flabby and I know that I need to lose weight to look and feel better. I assume (hope) that by adjusting back to my previous active lifestyle it will happen naturally.
My target to lose half a stone by the time I go on hols is just my way of giving myself some extra motivation. The first couple of weeks of going back to the gym were super hard, my body just did not want to co-operate! The only thing that dragged me there was thinking about wearing a bikini on hols. :rotfl:
Now that I've been back at the gym for 2 months, I'm motivated by other things as well - the endorphins, the feeling of wellbeing and the extra energy. :D I can start an exercise regime with weight loss in mind but the other benefits are what keep me coming back.
Sorry for the super long post!!! :o And thank you for your concern xo

Hiya everyone,
welcome to all the newbies, you've come to the right place:D
Well done on your loss so far icequeen, it definately helps to have goals to work towards.
Came across a site called netdoctor.com last night, they have a weight loss plan on there (4weeks i think) and it looks really easy to follow so think i may give it a go. I'd put a link on but dont know how to do them:o
My legs are killing me today, i did another 20min jog and 15mins of yoga last night. Thanks for the tea ideas tara, i eventually decided to make a big batch of pasta salad so i can have the rest for my lunch tomoro.
Today.....
B- porridge
L- either left over casserole and roll or soup and roll and yog
T - pasta salad, banana
Snacks - small bag of crisps, babybel
Ex- 12000+steps and 30mins on wii (if i have time before work)

Dragon - I didn't realise you had a shattered ankle, poor you!!
Plshelpmesave - well done on resisting temptation! I'm so glad I've stopped buying rubbish because if it was in the house, even hidden, I'd go hunting for it!
Tara - don't worry about it! I'm sure all the walking and stairs you are doing will burn it off in no time anyway!
I've been really bad today and just had a tube of smarties  In my defence, I had to go up the shop to buy lunch as my kitchen is still taken over and I needed something to make up my spend to £3 so I could pay by card. Hmmm, rubbish excuse I know. My sandwich was a healthy one though and I will have cycled 8 miles in all today so hopefully I'll burn off the smarties!
I'm thinking of getting an exercise DVD so I can do some workouts along with aerobic exercise stuff on the wii fit. Can anyone recommend any? (Do they actually work!?)

I hate to say it but I skipped breakfast - I can't get into the habit of having it:rolleyes: Lunch was a sandwich (wholemeal bread) wafer thin ham and some beetroot. Did eat a small chocolate thing (its a marzipan thing from Lidl so I ate half and half is left for later or even tomorrow.
Had to go to the post office earlier and its about half a mile from my home so I walked there and back.:j

Horace, are you at home during the day? I find it hard to have breakfast first thing but always have it within half an hour of arriving at work. At weekends and on hols though, I could happily skip it so that may be why! It doesn't have to be huge, even a few nuts would do. HTH.
nickynoo, thanks for the info on that website, must check it out!
littleemmie, the cycling will defo burn off those Smarties, well done you! Everyone here raves about Davina McCall's DVDs, I don't own any so can't recommend one but you might want to check out the exercise vids on the video library on this site, they are great and progress with you:
www.rte.ie/ot (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/www.rte.ie/ot)
I had a huge salad for lunch. And I went for a 45-minute brisk walk instead of the gym (weather just too gorgeous and my legs are feeling the effects of the extra run yesterday!). I'm over 10,000 steps for the day already and should double that later. I don't use my pedometer every day at the mo, as I am at the gym rather than walking 3 lunchtimes a week. But I thought it would be handy to use it today. :D

Oh I wish I could do this. 3 years ago I was a size 10, Im now squeezing into a 16. Got sciatica and couldnt go to gym or dance classes any more and I packed up fags. Im now about 3 stone more than I was and just cant seem to get the mind set to lose weight.
Its hard when you get older and your joints are dodgey - I did ok yesterday, mueli for breakfast, just one yoghurt for lunch, a peppered mackrel and salad for dinner plus a weight watchers pudding. BUT today is my birthday and one of the boys girlfriends gave me a big box of Thorntons :(

Yes, I work from home, sometimes I just roll out of bed and into my office which is just next door:eek: I do try and get up at 7am and try and start work at 9am, I stop for lunch at 13.40 just before Neighbours starts and have about half an hour, then I carry on. Might watch telly in the evening but then its back to work if I feel like it:D
Am off out tomorrow though, firstly to postbox to post a birthday card, then get in my car and drive to the village to go to the charity shop (taking some stuff) and the bank to pay in a cheque. Then my chum will pick me up at 12 and we'll go for lunch (a treat, I will have something like shepherds pie and veg so that I can have a sandwich for tea).
Lots of walking to be done on Friday too as I go to the chamber of commerce for my fortnightly meeting so I walk miles.

Tara - who - you on the stairs??? Who'd have thought it eh? keep it up hun.
LittleMissEmmy - we will be just overweight soon and maybe one day we'll make it to normal :rotfl:
Went to Size Down class yesterday - i was the only one who turned up !! but trainer carried on anyway. TBH mst of what she said we cover on this thread anyway - but may stick with it as another motivation/check in thinga and to properly learn about healthy eating and nutrition.
Having said that, i did no excercise yesterday and i gave in to some reduced cakes at asda and ate 2 small jam scones....yummmy yummy! DRAW A LINE & START AGAIN!!
GOing for lunch today with some friends so will try to get the healthiest thing on the menu.. i feel a jacket potato coming on!
Just had porridge for brekkie and having orange juice rather than my normal cup of tea to aid iron absorption - so she said yesterday!

Hi, thanks for the support re: CHOCOLATE!!!! I really should be able to resist it though. I was not going to buy any 'nice' things to put in the cupboards for the kids and OH, but why should they suffer cause I have no willpower!!
Yesterday I seem to have got a new lease of life, re eating. B was shreddies, L 1 pitta with chicken and cue, D Jacket Potato with beans, dessert spoon coleslaw, dessert spoon cheese and salad. This was under my points so I have gained some back, still slightly over this week, but never mind.
Today B shreddies, L no point veg soup with 1 pitta bread, D not yet decided. Going to get weighed tea time, hopefully STS, fingers crossed.
Have a very big temptation after weigh in, promised the girls McD's for tea, I WILL NOT HAVE ANY!
Dragon - will buy some sugar free jelly, see if that works, thanks.
Have a good day everyone, really should do some work!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm a bit late - but can I join in please? Got back from hols last night, and pleased to say I only put on 1lb while I was away!! :D Although, that does mean I failed February's challenge miserably, since I only lost 3 lbs in total! But at least it was a loss and not a gain!! :T
Here's to a good March! I'll be back later to read through the rest of the thread! :D

Hi all,
All this talk of chocolate is giving me craving! Mind you, all I've eaten all week is toast so I guess a wee choccy bar would not do too much harm. Don't even know if I could keep it down though so I guess I'll give it a miss.
Was not able to run last night due to being sick - am gutted - I hate missing a training session but there is just no way I could have gone. I am back to work but not feeling well at all. I just hope that I am feeling better for the 5k run on Sunday. Thought any more about it Tara?
Hope you are all making good food descisions? Keep up the good work - this thread is so motivating - Thanks!

hey folks, just a quick update from me, after my horror of being 20 stone on my scales at home, i went to the gym on monday and the gyms scales said i was only 19 stone 6lbs, so i have decided to use them as they are proper! Plus i will always be weighing at the same time, eg. straight after work and before dinner.
And yesterday i went and jumped on and it read 19&3lb so thats three pounds already!!! woop woop!!

Actually pinkneonmartini it seems as though you have lost 10 pounds :rotfl:, good call on using the gym scales - they will be calibrated for higher weights - as you lose weight check in on your home scales and when they start to be in sync then you can use the home ones if you wanted to.

Happy Birthday for Saturday Dragon:bdaycake: - remember to have some cake too.
Went to the pub for lunch today, the first pub has started charging for parking so we went somewhere else. Had 4 sausages, mash, onion, beer gravy, carrots and cabbage (I hate white cabbage:rolleyes: ) I ate most of it leaving just a little bit of mashed potato. No pudding either.
Will have a sandwich or even a toastie for tea. I am certainly thinner around the waist because my nice M&S cords have started to slide down:eek: and there is definitely more room around the waist than there used to be:j

I'm working most of the weekend - boo hiss
Had a lovely lunch today - even more so as it was free:D, didnt make the best choice on the menu unfortunately but i enjoyed it all the same. More than made up for it tho with all the walking and exercise i've done today.
Weigh in day for me tomoro - not looking forward to it v much, i'm really bloated at the moment, so much that my jeans feel more snug than usual on my waist.
Today....
B - cereal (180cals)
L - pub lunch (780cals)
T - pizza (350)
S - mousse(110cals)
Ex - 12500+steps, davina dvd, yoga on wii fit plus 20min jog;)

Oooohhhh - Happy Birthday Dragon (when it comes!!)
Well done to all the loosers - and maintainers too! Just finished reading the thread from start to finish - and man, I can't remember half of what I wanted to say!
Gems - was it you who did the celebrity slim? How have you found it? Have you had any decent results from it? I've seen the Diet Chef thing advertised quite a bit today - it I had a bit more spare cash i'd be tempted to give it a go! But I'll just need to stick to the old fashioned route for now!!
haven't even really started back on the plan today, didn't get home from hols 'til really late last night, and we've little food in so just had to make do with what was there!
So, today so far:
B: 2 white rolls, with butter and 3 slices of grilled bacon and 1/2 pint of Milk
L: 1 Slice white toast, with Flora extra light and 1/2 tin of beans - with peppermint tea
And surprisingly, I'm not actually hungry at all - the thought of eating is actually making me feel a bit ill! So maybes that'll be me for the day!
Exercise-wise - it's been non-existent today! i'd had a half baked notion of going to an exercise class, but I'm really tired and not feeling too hot - so I think I'll use tomorrow to start from scratch properly - and get back to the gym then! :D
I'm off to the supermarket shortly to stock up on loads of nice healthy food, and as well as loosely following the slimming world plan, I've decided I'm going to cut out diet fizzy juice and Milk from my diet for a week or 2 and see if that has any effect - and I'll replace it with water and fresh lemon, and peppermint tea (which I'm newly converted to!! :D ).
As for the weekend - Tomorrow will be a quiet one, I start a new second job on Saturday, so I'll need an early night for that! Then Saturday, I'll be working during the day obviously, and am going out for dinner with my boyf at night (La Tasca, using Tesco vouchers - so very MSE even if not that healthy! ;) ) - then I'm going to the pub to wave farewell to a friend who's off to work in Switzerland!! Then working again on Sunday!

Hi everyone, I haven't been hiding out, just insanely busy at work. Even so I managed to get to the gym yesterday and today and should make it tomorrow (and it was snowing this morning so giving myself a big pat on the back :D)
Alas the bad news is that I have been eating like there is no tomorrow. A lot of it reasonably healthy food but the quantities have been waay over. We've had corporate lunch type things all week and I've ended up picking and picking at the food. Although I've had salad for dinner 3 nights as a result cos I wasn't too hungry.
Oh and ice cream last night brought by my dear FIL who knows exactly the type I like
As a result I maintained this week but I know that this was a particularly crazy week and certainly the next 2 are shaping up better so fingers crossed for a loss next week.
Sounds like you've all been busy too, well done!

Today....

I weighed in this morning at 61.2kg, oh dear! 0.8kg (almost 2lbs!) heavier than on 1 March, hope this month is not going to be the same as last!! I have been exercising pretty well, but probably eating too much. I'm going out for dinner this weekend too, will have to try to make healthy choices! I am so determined to get this weight shifted...
belfastgirl, well done on going to the gym, you are well and truly back on the wagon!! :T
poshstock, those wotsits have hardly any cals, so you will be fine! If it were an entire tube of Pringles I might have to tell you off though. :D
hethmar, who could resist Belgian chocs? At least you didn't have all of them...
nickynoo, good luck with trying to get pg xoxo
icecubequeen, you are doing so well with your healthy eating and swimming 'n' all! Well done girl :)

Hi Tara, as Dragon said STS is stayed the same - which I didn't do!!!!!!!
I put on ½lb, but considering what I ate at the weekend, I'm happy with that.
I decided to take the girls to McD's before weigh in, and I ate NOTHING!!!! Went home and had soup with some french stick. Lovely.
I'm very focused today, have the slow cooker on at home, so just have to cook some veg when I get in. I think one of my problems is organisation! Not very good at that.
This weekend we are going shopping for easter eggs(not for me), pet supplies, a desk for DD2 and some bargins in Poundland. Swimming in the afternoon and Sunday is Lunch at my mum's. Inbetween time cleaning, washing, ironing, sorting toys!!!hate this, and playing. May just opt for the playing!lol
Anyways, well done to those who lost, hugs to those who didn't and a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DRAGON for tomorrow. Have a good one and eat lots of cake!!! mmmmmmmmm
Have a good weekend everyone.

Can I join please? I've been watching for a while. I wondered if any of you experts could give me some advice please?
I have lost 7lb since Sunday although not by a method I would recommend I can assure you, IYSWIM:eek: I have been in bed all week and have only today felt able to get up.
My question is, is there any way I can keep this weight off when I get better because I'm sure it will just pile back on even if I just eat healthily as I know I have to. Any ideas would be appreciated
thank you

Hi can I join in please just to get a feel of everything and a little practice before I join in properley next month! I am 5'4'' and weigh 13 stone 6lbs . I didn't even weigh that much when I was pregnant. Anyone else here a complete chocoholic?

Welcome to the newbies, and yes, I am a total chocoholic kjmtidea!!
easypeasy1956, poor you, I can guess the reason for your 7lb loss! Just take it easy, eat very lightly till your body gets better, soups and salads are ideal. Then just eat as healthily as you can. Do you exercise?
Only half a pound, taffy, that's nothing! I can't believe I've put on 2lbs even with doing so much exercise lately, it is just a tad depressing. I am a tiny bit tempted to give up and say 'sod it, I may as well be eating chocolate and lying around on my !!! if I'm going to put on weight anyway!'
But I know that none of you lovely ladies would do that, so I am going to force myself to carry on and hopefully I will reap the rewards. This thread is so valuable, esp when the going gets tough. It is all very well to come on here and post about doing really well and losing weight, but it is on the tougher days that we really need this wee community. :)
Someone kick my butt to go to the gym, I am feeling a limp as a lettuce here thinking about my extra 2lbs...

Tara, with all the exercise you are doing, you do know that muscle weighs more than fat, don't you. Have you measured yourself? You may have put on a couple of lbs but how many cms/inches have you lost of your waist, legs, hips etc?
Go on, have a measure.
I do agree with you that the thread is very important for you when you are having bad days or feeling down, everyone on here cheers you up and puts you back on the right track (I know I'm a newbie to this thread, but picked that up from reading all of it)

taffy, thanks for the kind words. I know about the muscle density thing, it would just be nice to see the numbers on the scales going down too. I guess that will come. I did measure my waist this morning, it is still around 28 inches so at least my 1 inch loss has remained! :) I haven't lost anything off my arms, chest, hips or thighs. Yet!
I dragged myself to the gym after all, managed 300 cals on the treadmill and did some weights etc. I have noticed certain exercises getting easier, particularly the plank. Does anyone do it? It is amazing for your core muscles and I always feel firmer around the middle afterwards! I try to do it at least 3x per day.
OK, next challenge: try not to eat too much this afternoon!

Hi folks, sorry I haven't abandoned you - I have a minor crisis here - a broken soil pipe - and the plonkers who are supposed to be fixing it are messing about so the insurers have agreed to pay for alternative accommodation over the weekend - which means that I only have internet access when I'm home to see to the cat!
I'll get caught up soon!

Tara, I must agree with taffy about the fat turning to muscle - I keep telling myself that at least when I have not been losing much. My body went from no excercise to me running 4 times a week - that is one hell of a change and I'm really hoping that this is the case! :o
Happy Birthday for tomorrow the Dragon! Hope you have a lovely day. It is my SIL 40th so I am looking after her 2 kids so there will be very little chance of any excercise for me.
Not had a great day food wise. After being sick all week, I have been craving fatty foods so I had birthday cake and 2 packets of crisps in work. Then I had one of those ham and cheese toasties in M&S cafe! Then to polish it all off, I had a Twirl!!!  I hate myself.

Daisy sorry to hear about your soil pipe hope they fix it and clean up afterwards.
Did a fair bit of walking today, followed by a cheese sandwich for lunch made using Kingsmill oaty bread (it has oats, linseed, poppyseed, millet and something else in it), followed by the last of my mum's low fat cakes.
Also indulged in some sexercise I think thats what the government call it:o :D

Now I've given up chocolate I really need to focus on the other stuff I eat, so please count me in for half a stone in March.
My new weight today - two pounds less than the figures in pale yellow above..:j
The same incentives still stand, I've still not had any chocolate. It's nearly dawn in the mornings when I get up now, so it's getting to the right time of year for going for a brisk walk before going to work - I'll keep you posted on that, it was minus 3 this week, so didn't go out in that...:o

Wow, there's been quite a few great weight losses already. I've had a very steady 1lb loss this week which is ok as it's TOTM.
I've been counting the cals I eat and those I burn through exercise (and trying to make myself eat over 1000 cals a day - still can't kick those extreme dieting demons!) and there was at least a gap of about 7200 not eaten or excercised off. If a pound is a 3600cal loss - where's my extra pound gone?
Getting a bit sick of this whole dieting thng to be honest. I haven't had a drink for weeks, I'm going to a wedding today and instead of thinking what a lovely day and how in love they look I'll be worring about the sauce on my dinner and ignoring the growls of hunger in my tummy.
Ooo, still a bit hormonal. I'm normally quite cheery!

A lot of it will just be water loss, due to um... well the illness... so you will put it back on when you drink and eat. The only way to lose weight long term is to eat healthily and exercise.
taffy, thanks for the kind words. I know about the muscle density thing, it would just be nice to see the numbers on the scales going down too. I guess that will come.
Personally, I find that I have periods where I am losing a lot of weight, and other periods where it all drags out. During that period I am building musle, I think, because I am still losing inches... in the long term, extra muscle burns a lot of calories all the time, so when the tipping point comes I suddenly get a burst of fast weight loss.

Well it was my first day yesterday and I think that I did very well. I had special K for breakfast, veg soup and plain bread for lunch (why did I always put butter on it before when I am dipping it in soup?!) a banana for snack. Then for dinner I made a sausage casserole full of veg. I drank loads of water and walked just under 4 miles.
Today I have done well so far and I am hoping to go out for a walk/jog if my boyfriend gets home from work at a reasonable time to be here with the kids. Hope everyone else is ok!

Well I haven't lost anything this week but my clothes do fit better. I have been reading up on this and from what I can gather the scales may not go down at all the first few weeks and it is best to go by other measurements. The weight loss will come later. This explains why i've been working my backside off and the scales aren't going down :rotfl: . The dog has lost 1.5 lbs though :D
I'm having a day off walking today, we have been out everyday last week and my legs are killing me.
Well done to all those who have lost weight, hopefully mine will shift soon.

Too late!! Just ordered! :o Due for delivery next week. Was a good price though and it folds away which is good because I dont have a lot of room.
I have been keeping an eye out on freecycle for ages, as I have been after one for quite a while. It will be used though, as I have an exercise bike too, which gets used all the time, I am very passionate about getting my money's worth! So the rowing machine will be used alot! Also my OH wanted a rowing machine too, so there will be 2 of us getting use out of it! Thanks for the advice though, may keep my eye on locals ads for other equipment if I see any cheap.

Morning guys.
Really haven't felt like posting for a couple of days as i'm feeling so fat and rubbish it's untrue. Have been eating all sorts of junk since Thursday and i'm feeling awful about it, as Ive done no excercise either.
How easy is it to go from trying to eat & cook healthily to oh, well I'll just have this today.. and the next day and the day after:confused:
Feel really ashamed of myself and that i've let myself down as well as you guys - who all seem to be doing so well. Met up with a friend yesterday who i haven't seen for 6 months and she did say I looked bigger than she'd ever seen me - in a nice and supportive way after i kept asking her if i looked bigger than last time! I kept expecting her to say i'd lost weight and looked good -when i know i look in the mirrow and look massive. I was happy for her though as she looked so much better than the last time i saw her - goes to gym 3 times a week and is back at work so she says that helps keep her with her eating.
July's family wedding is now only 4 months away... and i'm still fat! Just weighed myself and I'm 13stone 6lbs.... again.. which was my Feb start weight so tbh i'm absolutely rubbish at this losing weight stuff
Will carry on having a crap day today as meeting up with my friend again for brunch and then buying a cake for my sister's birthday so will enjoy today and then start again tomorrow with a vengance. I'm gonna see if i can get a student discount at the local gym - which is really only a 15 minute walk away and go back to my original plan of action to get myself sorted out!
They have a creche twice a week - so will sod the money side of things and put my DD in at those times and go excercise like i have never done before!
Will ask my sis and hubby to have her at other times so i can go and do aerobics in the evenings. Realistically i should be able to go 3 times a week for an aerobics class as my 2 sons are at their kids club on those days - so i just need to plan my days to food and house is sorted, homework up to date and then PLAN IN TIME for excercise and stick to the darn thing! With hiccups and life getting in the way - i should still be able to definately do 3-4 times a week.
So with that in mind - i'm starting afresh for this month - last week happened and it's done with. Gonna also stock up on chicken and fish wth vegetables for dinner. Sun is starting to come out too, so lots of chicken salads coming up methinks!
I can still lose 2 stone before July and be gorgeous again!! :T
Really sorry for the rambling post - its only you guys i can talk to about this. My sis will tell me to do Atkins - hubby just wants me to be thinner, although he tells me he loves me whatever size i am - i know we'll have a lot more "fun" when my big belly doesn't get in the way! Although on a positive note, he did squeeze me cheeks the other day and said they felt more toned ;)

Phew, I think I'm caught up now! If I have missed anyone off the list, just shout!
Plzhelpmesave - well done for putting last week behind you and jumping right back in! We all fall off the wagon sometimes (I downed a whole bottle of wine with chinese curry and chips last night :o.) The important thing is to acknowledge it and get back on track.
Do you log your weight loss on the calorie count site? If so, why not go back and remind yourself how well you have done already, and then get focussed on keeping the trend-line going down hill!
We can be so quick to beat ourselves up over the odd blip - we must ALSO remember to praise ourselves for the progress we have made (and are continuing to make)
Monday weigh-in looms... must go and eat some breakfast and drink some water!

Oh! On the subject of drinking - while I was in Turkey I learned to make a yoghurt drink - it is so simple it is ridiculous. I really like it and I find if I sip a couple of glasses for breakfast, it sets me up for the day.
Recipe - One large empty plastic milk or juice container, one large pot of low fat yoghurt, 0.75 litre water. Mix yog with water in a jug and pour into plastic container. Shake well. Adjust water to achieve desired consistency. Shake well. Keep in fridge and drink.
You can add salt or sweetener to taste, if you like. It does tend to separate, but that's normal, just give it a shake before pouring.
Remember to count the calories in the yogurt, and be aware that the cals given are usually per 100 gm, and a large pot is about 500gm.

Well i weighed in this morning at 150.9 lbs hmmmm I can't seem to shift any weight but my clothes fit loads better! Another thing I have noticed since eating more healthy is the condition on my hair. I used to wash my hair every day, sometimes twice a day as it was so greasy. Now the last time I washed it was Friday night and its fine  . Haven't been able to do much exercising today as its tipping it down outside but have tidied the whole house and will do my Davina dvd later :D

Hiya everyone
I haven't posted for what feels like ages, I'm still reading everyone's posts though. Everyone's doing so well, keep it up!!
I'm feeling so demotivated lately, I'm trying to locate my get-up-and-go that I had at the beginning of Feb's challenge. I only lost half a lb this week, but Ive done little or no exercise so not really surprised. I had most of last week off work and cleaned my house from top to bottom so that was my exercise for the week!
I'm getting back to my dvds this week (think I said that last week as well ) and walking for at least half an hour each day if I can. There's no rubbish in my cupboards or fridge only healthy snacky things so I won't be tempted. Loving the idea of that yoghurt drink it sounds yummy. I've been buying those fromage frais in tube things and freezing them so they're like ice lollies and having 1 if i fancy something sweet. :D
Here's to a good week everyone!!!!! :j

Tara - thanks for the info about fitness dvds. I'll look into them now I have more time
OH's parents and grandparents have just left after visiting for the weekend. It was really lovely although I feel like I spent most of the time cooking in the kitchen!! I feel like I've eaten so much so am feeling a bit rubbish, although a lot of it was veg and salad. Maybe I just ate too much of it?! My snacks (1st time in a good while) were 2 scones and jam yesterday, a mini choc chip cake and a digestive biscuit today - I suppose at least it wasn't chocolate!
Weigh in on Tues although I'm not holding out much hope. MIL bought a lovely dress today for OH's brother's wedding in August and it made me realise how much I want to lose weight for the wedding.
Have a good week everyone!

Not a good weekend for me weight loss wise but I did have a very nice time :) so I guess worth it. Didn't make it to the gym because DH and I had two nice long lie-ins, we had very welcome visitors both today and yesterday who also needed fed and I ate with them :o and probably worst of all visited some good friends last night who always lay out a spread of nice nibbles and this is where i really went off message. But I have stuck with no wine :D so that's something although the cheese went a little by the by.
I had dropped that lb again on Saturday morning and am keeping everything crossed that it stays off.
Back on message tomorrow.
And remember everyone who is struggling, the most important thing is how fast you pick yourself up and dust yourself off after a disaster (talking to myself here as well :o)

:o Hello my dears!
plzhelpmesave, I am totally with you hun! (((hugs))) I have had rather a bad weekend too, have eaten too much and only exercise was 1.5 hour's (not v. fast) walking yesterday. I am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow! This weight loss lark is difficult to sustain in a relationship, we are real foodies so my OH doesn't really 'get it' and I am not being single minded enough about it to insist that he changes his cooking habits too.
Oh well, another week starts tomorrow and I will be back at the gym and eating really healthily. I was great during the week, surely the weekend can't undo all that eh! Five good days versus two bad! There are still 6 weeks or so till my hols, and I may even lose half a stone in March if I really put my mind to it, we shall see!! Thanks to all who posted encouraging words, they are helping! :A
tomterm, I guess the same thing is happening to me... I am getting so impatient now though, been at the gym and eating better for 2 months now and was hoping to see some results on the scales! I guess if I carry on I will probably see results but if I give up I will definitely just get fatter. So I need to carry on.

Evening all. I've been bad this weekend as well. Must be something in the air! I'm getting very stressy too, wondering if hormones are kicking in for totm, mind it's not due till a week on Tues!!!! But my body works in very mysterious ways!lol
Now off to bed, just finished my session plan for my observation tomorrow, forgot to do it!
I am starting a fresh tomorrow, like lots of you lovely peeps, I can do it, I know I can.
Good luck for the weigh ins tomorrow, and to everyone else who needs it.

Hey all
Just a quicky before going to bed and waking up renewed and refreshed - hopefully!
Saw something in a magazine - think it was glamour?? - about mid-march being the time most people give up on the excercise resolutions they made in the new year - so that must be why I've had a bad week then! shhhh, i know it's not mid march yet!
Have TOTM coming back to visit in the next few days - which now makes me realise why i've been craving crap and shovelling it down!! Will also make me want to not excercise - so will need extra motivation guys.
Tara - thank for your post - made me feel better xxx

plzhelpmesave - I never knew that about mid March, although it makes sense. It's easy to be all motivated when weight loss articles and progs are all around you e.g. in January! But then it tails off a bit. Thank goodness for this thread! Dont overdo the exercise when it's TOTM, just walking etc will do you good xo
Leothecat, how did the run go yesterday???
I am 61.1kg this morning, still 0.7kg heavier than on 1 March but at least it's started to go down a little again! I cheated on Lent and ate some chocolate last night... am so ashamed!!! :(
Here's my exercise diary for last week (sorry, prob v. boring but it makes me do extra if I have to post it in public!):
Monday
30 minute walk to work
19 flights of stairs
30 minutes on the treadmill - 315 calories
30 minute walk home
50 minute walk with friend
Tuesday

15 minutes on the treadmill - 151 calories
30 minute walk home
Wednesday
50 minute walk to work
18 flights of stairs
45 minute walk at lunchtime
1 hour walk with friend
Thursday
40 minute walk to work
34 flights of stairs
30 minute walk home
Friday
45 minute walk to work

Well my weight loss for this week is ............................... nothing! absolutely nada! Mind you I put no weight ON either so I suppose that is good AND I have been taking my pain medication so actually, over all I am not too unhappy!
I just spotted this thread and would like to take part. I have lost 4 pounds so far this month, so another 3 to target.

Tara747 do you find that you lose a lot of weight by walking a lot? I walk miles every day doing the school runs and I am walking even more now because it is one of the few exercises that I can fit in between everything at the moment!

Welcome JFC, wow, 4lbs already and we're only 9 days into March!!
Dragon, well done on maintaining considering your food-tastic weekend! How was the b'day dinner? :)
lucyhope, well done on the 1lb loss!!!
kjmtidea, they do say that walking is great exercise and it is one thing that you can fit into everyday life. It gets you from A to B and apparently you burn 100 cals by walking one mile. And it's good for your bones (weight bearing) while also being kind to your joints (low impact). I love walking.
I have so much healthy food with me today, I'm all organised!!!

Well, completed the 5k yesterday. Was very disappointed as my time was 31 mins. According to our last training sessions I should have been completing it in about 28 mins. I think it was a combination of nil warm up due to the confusion at the race, very cold day, still a bit weak from last week's illness and very bad organisation at the race. It really was laughable. They allowed everyone (walkers, children, wheelchair users, people with buggies, 5k runners and 10k runners) to go over the start line at once. It was mad - the runners were tripping over buggies and walkers - terrible! It was not too bad for us cos it was our first 5k race and we were not taking it too seriously. Had I been a 10k racer and had trained really hard etc etc, I would have complained.
It took about 3-4 mins to get past all that lot and I ran for about 18 mins before having to walk for 2. Set off again and could only manage 5 mins and 1 min walk then ran the rest. At least I ran over the finish line - my friend ran most of the way and walked the last 2 mins!!
Was peeved off to say the least.
When I originally started the programme, my aim was to train for the Race for Life at the end of May. The race we did yesterday was something that I got talked into by a friend so I'm just going to put it behind me and move on.
Training tonight - 2 x 20mins. Looking forward to it. ;)

Afternoon all!
I'm two pounds lighter than last Monday which I suppose is a start. I'm surprised that I lost...we never, never go out to eat but went out Saturday night and Sunday!
I've stepped up the exercise and have been watching what I eat (with the exception of the above).
Went for my 5 mile walk with a friend this morning. We will go again on Friday-in between I'll do wii fit. I also have started Tae Kwon Do.
Keeping track of my calories online is really helping me.
May we all have a fun, fit, healthy week! :j

Leothecat, you did brilliantly!!! Focus on the positive, you trained well and you finished the race. :) I think the start of the race sounded like a shambles, and also it was v. windy, which wouldn't have helped your time. I think you deserve a massive pat on the back. Your first 5k, woooooooooooo!!
Cymbaline, well done on the 2lbs!! What I wouldn't give to lose 2lbs at the mo, great start!!!!
I went to the gym at lunchtime, just about managed to burn 300 cals. I am going to try to increase that but just can't seem to at the mo, not sure whether it's boredom or tiredness or a mix of the two. Hmm.
Breakfast was raspberries and low fat bio yogurt, and lunch was HM veg soup - yum. I am now sitting munching on mangetout and considering an Options choc drink (these do not count as choc for Lent purposes as they're only choc flavoured powder and 30-ish calories!). I have been up and down the stairs a few times too. Trying to atone for the sins of the weekend! :D

This losing weight malarkey is such hard work :rotfl:
Today I have done a total of 1 hour on my exercise bike and hour 1 'dancercising' which is basically me and my ipod dancing around the living room like crazy :rotfl: :rotfl: It can burn off 420 cals an hour though :D
I have done the exercise in 4 half hour sessions and now need a lie down :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Evening everyone, had a pants day yesterday. I was doing so well - did loads of exercise, ate really healthily and then went and spoilt it all by scoffing a load of maltessers and crisps while i was watching lost:o. For some reason i thought i'd punish myself this morn and get on the scales to see what damage i'd done and somehow i was half a pound lighter:D, would probably of been more if i hadn't had my blow out last night but i'm happy with that. I've been fairly good today - didnt plan too well and let OH make lunch so he made pizza baguettes. They were lovely but dread to think how many cals were in them.
Today...
B - porridge
L - pizza baguette
T - HM chilli
Ex - 10000steps, 30mins on wii fit
Hiya to the newcomers too
And well done to everyone thats lost this week:T

I did another 30 minutes of the wii fit last night and boy are my legs feeling it! Still doing well with my calorie intake but I am finding it difficult to find low calerie family meals or meals that I can adapt slightly for me. I hate cooking different meals!
I have gained 3lb. Not entirely sure how. In addition to riding lesson / hacking my other horse out, I met my Dad on sunday and did a 8mile walk. Along footpaths that took us over ploughed fields etc - so not easy going!!
I did have quite a lot of crisps and wine over the weekend though ....
It frustrating - I am pretty good during the week, it all goes out the window at weekends!

Morning all - what a bunch of losers on here! Great going guys - keep it up.
Had quite a mixed day yesterday - toast and banana for brekkie, jacket potato with chicken and salad for lunch - very filling and sat with me for ages afterwards. Then i went and did it - joined the gym ladies!!
Ladies session today an thursday with a creche so just getting ready to leave in a few minutes. Felt really good just by finally joining - hubby has a few days off work later this week (to redecorate the bedrooom!) and so he can have the kids in the evening so i can try all the different classes every night and see what I like! Wahey! I've joined the council gym and and only tied into a membership for 3 months @ £30 a month which includes all classes, gym, swimming at all venues in the city - PLUS I got a passport to leisure card using my student ID so it means my kids can get discounts on training programmes too, football, swimming etc. Hoepfully i will stick with it longer than three months, but from an MSe point of view it was better than a 12 month deal!
Only thing is TOTM coming up any day so need to try really hard not to use that as an excuse to not go. Also went to the library yesterday - haven't been for ages and it was sooo nice just to get some books and read in bed last night rather than watching TV. methinks i need to do it more, forgot how relaxing it was.....
Have a great day all! x
TARA - cannot believe your excercise log! absolutely brilliant - don't know how you fit it all in, but keep it up hun.

Morning all!!
Plzhelpmesave - good luck!! And well done for joining!! :T I always think it's a wee bit daunting joining a gym for the first time, even if it's just because you haven't been for a while! But I'm sure you'll feel the effects really quickly - so it'll all be worth it!!
Well done to all the losers!! :j :T I'm gonna hold off on weighing myself 'til next Monday (last weighed in on Thursday, at 10 stone 4 lbs!) - purely since I didn't really stick to it over the weekend - plus, aunt flow came a visiting yesterday - and since she's always a massive pain the first day or 2 that she's here, I was like a burst balloon all day yesterday and wasn't really interested in very much - so forgot to jump on the scales!
Sorry I've not been around much recently, I started a new job at the weekend, so means as well as working 9-5 mon-fri in my normal job, I'm doing 9-6 both days at the weekend, plus 5.30-10pm on Mon/Tue nights as well. Not quite sure how I'm gonna find the time/energy for much exercising - but there's always Wed/Thu/Fri nights I suppose!
As for this weekend, I think I was still in holiday mode, since my eating was all over the place! I'd actually got prepared for healthy lunches to take with me, but didn't bother in the end, because I figured it was maybe a bit anti-social in the first day of a new job, and I didn't wanna exclude myself if the other newbies were going out for lunch or whatever!
Anyway - the most I've managed is running up and down the 4 flights of stairs on the (many, many!!) breaks they insisted on us having over the weekend. I'd love to say that it was driven purely by trying to stay fit, but it was actually more because we couldn't all fit in the lift at once, so since we're a bunch of overgrown kids - we were racing to see who would make it to the top/bottom first! :D :o Pleased to say we actually won most of the time - although I couldn't really speak much when I got to the top after that! ;)
Hope you all have a good Tuesday!!

Hello all! Well done to the losers!!!!!!!!!! :j :j :j
stacyl1977, welcome to our wee thread! I don't think any of us would be sticking at our healthy eating and exercise regimes if it weren't for this thread, you will find much encouragement here!
SDH, don't lose heart, I am experiencing the same yo yo effect but we need to stick at it and the weight will eventually come off again!!
crapwithmoney, hope you don't burn yourself out with all those hours, sounds hectic!! Take care of yourself hun xoxo
kjmtidea - what about making the same meals for all of you but giving yourself more veg and less of everything else (carbs/meat), or trying to find low fat versions of ingredients e.g. yog or low fat creme fraiche instead of cream? There are lots of low fat cooking tips available online, your family won't even notice the difference and you'll all feel the benefits! :D HTH.
plzhelpmesave - well done on joining the gym, you got a good deal there! Let us know how it goes. Re my exercise log - it's mostly walking!!! :rotfl: But every little helps. My legs and bum are definitely feeling it at the mo from doing all those stairs at work! I'm going walking with a friend this evening and back to the gym tomorrow. I'm going to just do Mon/Wed/Fri for now as doing two days in a row last week did me no good at all.
Food today has been super healthy - low fat Greek yog, an apple, strawberries, plums and figs for breakfast and a yummy salad for lunch. If I don't lose weight this week I swear there is something wrong with the world!! I am still missing chocolate!

Thanks crapwithmoney! You've just reminded me to change my signature at some point - all those are from last year and I haven't done any competitions since Christmas. I want to get back into it but at the moment work gets in the way!! And OH has recently found online bingo so takes over the computer most evenings now... Your job sounds hectic!! You won't have time to eat anything remotely naughty at that rate!
Well done Charlie1986, thats great! I bet you are well pleased.
Hiya Stacyl1977, you're not alone anymore!!! I've gained so much from this thread and would never have stuck to my regime if it wasn't for the wonderful people on here!

Oh dear, I have just weighed myself - I have put 2lb ON this week! Not a good start
The annoying thing is, I decided to only weigh myself once a week, since that seems to be the 'thing' to do. It just doesn't work for me.... I am back to daily weigh-ins now, I just need to do it to stay focussed.
On the good side, though, I have been going to the gym regularly over the past two weeks, and although I put weight on thos week (too many meals out with wine over the weekend) I have actually dropped a jean size and I defo look and feel as if I've lost inches. Maybe that extra weight is all muscle :D

Just finished my tea. Veggie sausages, salad, creme fraiche, tomatoes and salad in 2 tortillas. Now I know for a fact that I am gonna be starving by 8pm - I just have that feeling today. Tomorrow is my weigh day and I am not at all hopeful. Its been a bad week - been ill, crampy and windy since the virus left me. It's also TOTM and I've just been craving chocolate and crisps. Today I had 2 packets of crisps in work! (and a Jammy Joe!) :o
If I have lost anything or even stayed the same in the morning, I shall be over the moon. No mission tho.:o

Leothecat, good luck with your weigh in! Did you snack after dinner?
I went for an hour's walk this evening, it felt good. Then I came home and did 4 planks, it is defo getting easier!!! I had a very diet-friendly dinner (chicken stir fry), also had a few oatcakes about an hour ago but overall have done well today. :j If only every day were as good! :rotfl:

I was naughty this morning and weighed myself, I was really worried because last night my wii fit told me that I had put on 2 lbs! I don't think I will weigh myself on it in the evenings anymore because it won't be very accurate after I have just downed a pint of water.
So since Friday I have lost.... 5lbs!!! I can't believe it, I am very very happy though and it has given me the kick up the bum to carry on with it all. Good start to the day, it will be downhill from here though - I've got a house full of ill children :(.

I weighed in this morning... 60.7kg!!! It's still 0.3kg heavier than on 1 March but at least the numbers are starting to go down again... and I am definitely feeling more toned! It gave me a little boost on this grey morning anyway. :D I am off to the gym at lunchtime and have lots of healthy food with me so today should be a good one.
kjmtidea and Leothecat, well done on the weight loss!!! :j :j
fluffybishop, is there any type of aerobic exercise you like? They say that you should do the thing that you enjoy and then it won't seem like a chore. I prefer dancing to running TBH, but as I can't get to a dance class at lunchtime I stick with the running... and it does give results (eventually in my case!!). I also love walking, although it takes longer than running to burn calories it is still great aerobic exercise (esp if you include brisk walking and hills etc) and very sociable if you can get a walking buddy. HTH. :D

Tara - I prefer doing dancing too :D When I lost most of my weight I was using a fitness dvd, exercise bike, and dancing [all at home] I lost looads of weight but needed a kick up the butt to get going again - I still have 2 stone to lose.
So, I am doing aerobic dancing which really has my pulse racing :rotfl: and I bring into it some of the toning moves from the fitness dvd while I am doing it - especially upper body toning. It is enjoyable too and I can make a complete fool of myself cos no one can see me!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww, thanks! :)
I have had my yog and fruit for breakfast and my salad for lunch, also went to the gym and burned 300 cals (actually ran for 27 minutes non-stop which I haven't managed in a while!! :D). I'm getting a little peckish now, although it's mouth hunger and not stomach hunger. So I will ignore it, drink some more water and I have 2 peaches on standby if it persists! I am feeling more organised this week, for definite. Buying more fruit is costing me a little more on food but it will be worth it if it helps me lose weight.
Dinner tonight will be something v. light such as HM soup as OH is going out straight from work and won't be home till late.
I still miss chocolate though...
Oh dear. Its the wedding on saturday that I am bridesmaid at. The bride has invited us round this evening for pizza, crisps & dip & wine...... And I suspect some bridesmaid type task like making a thousand fiddly favour boxes

Evening everyone! Not been on for a few days, been really busy.
Well done to everyone who has lost this week, I weigh in tomorrow and feeling quietly confident that I haven't put on! Hoping for 2lb's this week which will take my total loss to 1st!!!! Shouldn't get too hopeful or I may be disappointed. We'll see.
I think all the exercise you do is brilliant. I just can't get motivated on that though. I walk when i can, but other than normal stuff like housework, up and down the stairs, I don't do anything else. I really need to make an effort.
Will post tom night when I have been for the weigh in.
Now off for an early night, sleep tight.

I ate a rather large amount of full fat Greek yog this evening, oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
