I have very very thick affro hair and I have tried so many pairs of straighteners and to be honest I dont think GHDs are any better than any others that heat up to 230. I have got some GHDs but I dont use them and neither does my daughter I got some in argos they are pro elegance 230 and they are far better than the ghd and I got them in sale so they were only £45 with a 5yr guarantee.

These are the standard size GHD's which are fine for thick hair, and this is a reliable site. Be wary of any that are much cheaper than this as they are probably going to be fake.
