Thanks for taking the time to complete our survey about drugs. Don’t worry, we’re not going to tell tales, we just want to know what drugs mean to you, and what part they do or don’t play in your life. We’ll get loads of helpful information for TheSite.org, and if you're 16 to 25, live in the UK and are one of the first 500 to complete the survey you’ll get a £5 Amazon voucher. That’s a win-win situation!

Short and easy to fill in survey.

Just to point out even though it says 25 - you do get rejected.

So no 25's, despite what they say at the start

Doubtful, it was probably just a generic message. It does say to leave your email so that you get a voucher sent, but you still have to wait and see if you were one of the first 500

Oh my god, they used to have poppers at my school in about 1996 i think it would have been, I had no idea what they were, looking them up on wikipedia i cant believe we were kids, and the pupils had that stuff, and where doing goodness knows what
They also used to take rock
"On the illicit market, rock or crack, is sold in small, inexpensive dosage units. Smoking this form of the drug delivers large quantities of cocaine to the lungs, producing effects comparable to intravenous (http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=4021) injection. These effects are felt almost immediately after smoking, are very intense, and do not last long"
wow i'm so innocent when it comes to what drugs names are :D
Anyway thanks for the amazon link hope i'm lucky *fingers crossed* :A

Lying isn't generally accepted as a good thing really.
I hope i get mine too, it didnt say anything about if i was first but said they'd like to send me a voucher. i also agreed to take part if they had any more research as its quite an interesting area, a lot more scope than the usual questions you have to fill in about fruit juice etc :D

I bet quite a few people lied about their age as well :rotfl:
Hi everyone!
Just a heads up for when you are filling in the survey:
The agree strongly, agree slightly etc. sections have disagree slightly and disagree strongly in the opposite positions to what I would call 'normal'... and this threw me a bit at first.
It looks like this:
[Agree strongly] [Agree slightly] [Neither agree nor disagree] [Disagree strongly] [Disagree slightly] [Don’t know]
Just thought I'd let you guys know :)

I've just done it now and it asked for my email; time will tell, either way it was an interesting survey.
It does really annoy me the way some people are proud to have lied for the sake of a £5 voucher. You must be so proud of yourselves. Surveys are meant to collect data to help with research.

Again people decide the freebie is a scam way too early, it says theyre sent out in march, its only the 9th, still over two weeks left.
I think theyll of got the 500 already but most surveys like this are still available after the limit has been reached. Im still quite confident that theyll send them out, wether i was one of the first 500 is still to be seen.

Apparently it was also put up on a few other forums as well as MSE. With a limit of the first 500 applicants, and (undoubtably as with these offers) with 'greedy' people always trying to get more than one voucher, I suspect that there may have been few if any vouchers left for us.

So the results of the market reserch will be flawed because of a load of free-loaders?

Nature of the game it seems. I don't think many people really care at times, as long as they get the voucher, which is really unfortunate.
There was a recent survey on here with Amazon vouchers. Can't remember exactly what it was - something about Facebook and putting on 5 hot items from UK Deals etc. The award was again something like a £5 voucher from Amazon and everyone seemed to just be doing that.
Then someone mentioned that they had already 'made' something like £175 in vouchers from that offer in a couple of days and that just seemed to start a stampede with it all and the offer was quickly stopped with people trying to abuse it.

Just to point out even though it says 25 - you do get rejected.
16 to 25 means if you're 25 years and 1 second old then you're not included.
It's the same with a 16-25 railcard. You can't renew after your 25th birthday, unless you are a mature student.

I didn't get my voucher but they emailed me and asked if I'd answer a few follow up questions, I replied that they hadn't even paid me for the survey and they never replied to that, bit of a cheek really i thought!

Hi everyone,
Apologies that some of you have been waiting a long time to receive your vouchers. We have had a few issues which means that its taken us longer to get the vouchers out than usual.
All the vouchers have now been sent out to the first 500 people who responded to our survey. If you haven't received a voucher today I'm afraid that means that you weren't in the first 500. We'd love to be able to give vouchers to everyone, but as a charity, it does mean that our resources are limited, and we simply can't afford to give a voucher to everyone who responds.
We know that some of you have been emailing Sarah, here at YouthNet, who has been getting a lot of emails, so hopefully this post will let you all know what is going on.
Thanks for taking the time to complete the survey, we really do appreciate your time.

So why did some of us recieve the "your vouchers will be sent out in March" message if we weren't in the 500? surely we should have been informed that we had missed out, rather than left expecting them to arrive and wasting our time contacting you when they didn't!

I filled in the survey like 15 minutes after it was posted here, i'd be amused to see who recieved there vouchers, as i replied here as soon as i completed the survey itself, so i have a record of when i completed mine. It'll be interesting as to there response if people who replied after me got a voucher.

I doubt they even sent out 500 now- sounds like it was all just a scam to get lots of responses.
Charity or not it's still very poor conduct!
Given the option "complete this survey on behalf of so&so charity" would have been fair enough, but luring us in with false promises is downright wrong!

I think a lot of people may be forgetting the fact that this wasn't the only forum that this 'offer' was posted on. As well as the MSE Forum, there were a number of others as well.
The OP who posted here may have been one of the later posters of the offer. Hence, many of us were too late. And don't forget the fact that some people will try and take more than there fair share of vouchers. So 500 vouchers could well have been split between say 300 people of even less. It's happened before on here ..................................

Interestingly the survey is still working and you still get the:
"That's all the questions we need to ask you. Thanks for taking part. As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to send you a free £5 Amazon voucher - no strings attached. To get yours, please enter your email address below (strictly one per person). You'll receive your voucher in early March."
message at the end of it. Not so interestingly neither me nor my partner got a voucher from when we did the survey in Feb :(
I wonder if the advertising standards authority would have anything to say on the subject?

Absolutely disgusting behavior from Sarah McCoy at Youthnet. She did not even have the decency to reply to my email, yet she was able to contact MSE ... twice ... to request removal of her email address from this thread so that people who had not received their vouchers were not able to find the means to contact her.
I was one of the first people to apply for this, yet people who applied hours after me have received vouchers. I can only think Sarah McCoy has withheld my voucher because she is unhappy with me giving out the email address. This is extremely indecent, immature and unprofessional, especially for someone who is supposed to be running a charity!
I would never in my life donate to or trust YouthNet UK. If they conduct their surveys in this manner I dread to think how they conduct other matters within their charity.

It's unlikely that she found out your name from your MSE username.
I know how voucher scheme's like this work and it's likely that it's actually Amazon are paying Youth Net to send out £5 Amazon vouchers, sounds strange but it's probably true. It's likely that they couldn't trace who completed the survey when and sent out vouchers to random people.

Earlier in this thread I posted an email sent to me from Youthnet regarding the lack of Amazon vouchers. This post has now been deleted because Sarah McCoy's contacted MSE and requested that they delete my posts. This is because the post included Sarah McCoy's Youthnet email address and she didn't want people to be able to contact her when they didn't receive their vouchers.

I contacted YouthNet through their website a couple of weeks after everyone from this forum probably contacted the contact you posted. I got a polite and apologetic response saying that they've had problems with the company doing the survey and will try to ensure in the future that no-one incorrectly gets the idea that they are going to get a voucher when they've all been allocated.
I think on this occasion some people will unfairly have not got one as I suspect that people aged 25 and over have tried filling out the survey to get the Amazon voucher.
For future ref I think a thread title of 'Free £5 Amazon voucher 16-25yr olds only' would have been better.
