I locked the car with central locking other day just before the front passenger door closed but now when I lock using the CL it unlocks straight away. I have to manual lock the car with key in front passenger door which is a real pain

Any idea how to reset the CL?

I had similar problem last year which I believe was caused by bad weather but is fairly mild now and it been fine for past year until now

I dont think its the battery in key fob I replaced that last year and the car does lock but unlocks again

Thanks

im sure this is a common problem

do you lubricate the mechanism?

Yes I have done in the past. I am sure its down to the issue with the passenger door being open when I used CL though. I suspect it needs some reset, it just locks and unlocks straight away again

the fact that you can lock it with the passenger door indicates a fault on the drivers side
if you open the drivers door and tap the little button inside where the door hinges are you can put the alarm into test mode
then get out and close the door
now open each door one at a time you will hear the horn toot if that door is fine close each one straight after
now repeat with the key in the passenger lock it will beep once on locking and twice on double locking
when you do this on the drivers side it will not beep due to a fault on the back of the lock
