Nop. Not a punch in the mouth!!!!
go HERE (http://www.anglianwater.co.uk/formprocessor.php?mode=fat)
It's what it says on the tin.
They do send outside of the Anglia region, too. Ignore the bit about buying one.
Every year householders pour thousands of litres of waste fat, grease and cooking oil down their sinks, unaware of the problems it may cause.
The hot liquid cools quickly to form a solid mass and can, over time, build up in pipes and sewers and result in a blockage. In extreme situations, drains and sewers become blocked leading to the flooding of gardens and properties.
Hence the creation of a new product 'Fat Trap', a sealable tub that encourages customers to collect the fat and oils into it before disposal into a bin. Anglian Water has teamed up with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and the manufacturer Less Mess Ltd to not only encourage people to avoid putting greasy deposits down their plugholes but also to recycle it for the benefit of garden birds

Are you sure this is open to everyone?
Here it says: (http://www.anglianwater.co.uk/index.php?sectionid=108&parentid=30)
Anglian Water customers can request a Fat Trap by clicking here and complete the requst form.
However, if you live outside of our region, for a small fee of around £1.00, you too can purchase a Fat Trap directly from the manufacturer, Less Mess Ltd at www.lessmess.co.uk or by calling 01271 817 977.
Personally I just use an empty jam jar to dispose of the fat. Unfortunately sticking fat out in the garden attracts rats, which is what I misread the title of this thread as :o

I paid and got one of these a while ago, it really is quite good. Have requested a free one as well as mine is now full, haven't received it yet though (been a few weeks).

I wouldn't dream of pouring fat or oil down the plug hole!
I pour my old deep fat frying oil into empty plastic (4 pint milk) bottles and 2ltr squash bottles. The top seals the bottle, so the oil can be safely disposed of in the dust bin.
I wish we had an oil recycling facility in my area though.

It clearly states on their website (http://www.anglianwater.co.uk/index.php?sectionid=108&parentid=30):

I think this was posted a while back. At least, I'm sure I've already applied for it. It never came though (and I do live in E. Anglia), so I'll give it another go.

It clearly states on their website (http://www.anglianwater.co.uk/index.php?sectionid=108&parentid=30):
I just based this statement on the fact that lots of other people in different parts of the country have recieved one after applying.
Says it all for me, but suggest that you dont go to all of the trouble in filling out a very short form, just to find out I'm wrong.
Or simply take my word for it as others do.
The worst that can happen is that you waste 2 mins of your time. Far less than you have by arguing the toss but I would so hate for you to be disappointed.
Riz is right, I live in Gloucester (Severn Trent water), I had a free one.
