I have a 2002 Toyota Yaris and I seem to have to put my fog lights or else the lights do not provide enough visibility. The normal car lights seem dull (and have done since I bought it 18 months ago) and do not light up roads well enough for me to see. The fog lights seem sufficient however other road users continually flash me as they are too bright. I am not sure what is wrong with my lights? Can anyone advise? Thanks

The fog lights should only be use in fog condition, you dazzle oncoming traffic which is why they flash you. Over a period of time the light degrades so hence getting worse.
Get yourself a set of philips +80%, they are the best I have use in standard type bulb (ebay).
Or even better a set of HID xenon, I think yaris has the head of bulb wrapped in the headlight unit so can direct the beam without dazzling oncoming vehicles. I have the HID with projector headlight units in my fiesta and it just brilliant light.

Have you checked both headlights are working on dip and on main beam?

Cheers. Yes both lights working on dip and main beam. I am thinking I need new bulbs - is it easy to fit them yourself?

I don't know whether it's easy to fit as I have never seen the behind of the yaris headunits, others can advise. Don't just get any new bulb, you should look into getting the philips +80% bulb as I have advised, cost about £15 a pair delivered from ebay.

Before you spend any money, does the vehicle have a headlamp level control? Normally a little wheel near the headlamp switch with positions from 0-4.
