HI,was wondering if you could please give me some much needed advice..
i bought a car of, ac, on the 12/01/09 i picked the car up on the 13/01/09 i got the car home and parked it on the drive,i did not use again untill the saturday 17/01/09 on my way to work i noticed a knocking noise coming from the front of the car.at the start when i went to buy the car i was told it was a one owner car,the car would be fully valeted, the car had full service history i was also given a full tick sheet stating all visual checks inside and out had been done also it had a full mechanical check.on picking the car up the first thing we noticed was the back wiper all the rubber was split,we pointed it out to the salesman who assurd me it would be orderd and changed, still waiting,we thought the car had been valeted untill i got in the car on the wednesday 14/01/09 to check if it had been cleaned,i could not believe the state it was in,it was filthy,i know i should not have cleaned the car but i had to spend over 2 hours just cleaning the inside they had just wiped a bit of polish in the car to make it smell that it had been cleaned,i also notice for some reason they had wiped polish over the engine or spilt some on the engine,i do not know why they did this.when i checked the service history i noticed it was due a service called intrim,i was told by, ac, if a service was due they would do the service and stamp the book, they did neither,i booked the car in for a service with peugeot on the15/01/09 for the monday 19/01/09 on this service they found the drop link bars were worn and this is where the knocking was coming from, also front wipers worn and need to be changed, windscreen badly scratched due to wipers never being changed, back wiper badly split, went back to ac. with peugeots findings and they basically called peugeot liars and said they do not know what they are talking about,we told peugeot what they had said, peugeot told us to go to there mechanics and they would show us the problem, which they did.concerning us being told one owner i received the documents back and we have since found out it was owned by ac finance but the car was either being rented or leased to an nhs trust in warickshire,we was never told this only it was a one owner car,if we had known it was rented or leased we would not have touched the car.we went to ac 21/01/09 to reject the car but we found the genral manager to be very intimidating and his salesman were outside watching us so we did not give him the letter, due to feeling intimidated we just agreed to have it repaired just to get away,to which the manager said i like it when i have to flex my muscles on the knowlege of the law.we went back on the friday not to have the repairs done but on this occasion to give him a letter of rejection, which we did and he said we have no right to reject the car,we brought the car home and have not touched it since,we have had no contact what so ever from ac.
can you please give me any advice possible on this matter
thank you so much from a forum newbie
