Got my 'clicker' this morning.

A truely wonderful gadget. Must be loads of uses for it (can't think of any at the moment- but I know you lot will!)

I've only seen them used for counting sheep and cattle. Handy maybe for counting sheep when I can't sleep.

I presume the idea behind it is that fellas use it to count 'tidy birds' ??

You could count the amount of times Windows crashes for one. Then I suppose you could use it to count the traffic down your street for council related complaints and again for noise problems concerning dogs and loud music or air traffic even. You could have put it to good use with the recent national bird count, but you'd need a few more for that, one for each finger and toe I guess, that's unless you only have feral pigeons, also worth complaining about. You could count the amount of junk mail you receive in a year or use it as a knitting stitch/row counter, a diet points counter, a swear counter, many many things really, just follow Sesame Street's The Count and put it to good use or not. You could always donate them to schools, I'm sure they could always use them for projects. So far I've counted 14 uses including this one HA HA HA! :D

Thanks for the freebie link, heres what you are supposed to use it for, although I'm sure that the Freebaholics will come up with some much more interesting things to do (many of which may actually be legal)

The clicker is part of the new Lynx advertising campaign starring Ben Affleck.
He uses it to count the number of "Interested" looks he gets during a walk around Los Angeles.

It's all done in the usual Lynx tongue-in-cheek style and I won't spoil the ending for you (I'm sure you can wait 30 seconds for it)

The advert (3.4Mb) can be downloaded from various websites. I got my copy from Yahoo Office Attachments.

It wouldn't work because the click code needs to match the phone number it was sent to, so someone would have to pay for you. Do what i did and use one of the free sim card's (if you have any) and get one.

Yes, you now have to send a text to receive a code to enter on the site.. this costs you £1.50.. It was free initially..

I have given out my mobile number too freely in the past. I ended up getting text messages which took off credits from my phone as they were received. at £1.50 a message and having to pay another £1.50 to text back asking them to stop (which they didn't).
It was a scam which continuously ate up all my credits forcing me to abandon my phone number and change it.
I never give my mobile number to sign up to anything. I just can't trust it and mobile providers don't seem to care. But of course its to their advantage to let it go on

'for a start', back on 29th january when i originally posted this, there were a certain number of totally free clickers which required no text message to be sent, they just sent them to you in teh post, i got one as did several others, feel free to check back over teh posts if you dont believe me, after teh free ones ran out you had to text at a cost of £1.10, you missed the offer by 4 months.

Because it was a freebie when the post was first raised. As time has passed Lynx now charge the text cost. It was free to start of with, the thread has just changed over the months.

I think it's worth the cost of the text. I've bought clickers in the past for work and plastic ones cost around £10. This is a metal one so it's definitely worth £1.50 to me

Just a warning that I came across this late but thought the £1.50 text was a reasonable price to pay for a clicker. I've just been charged £1.50 only to get a text back saying "Sorry you're too late - we've run out of clickers. Watch out for hot news from Lynx in future. The Lynx clickmore girls x x" :mad: and it's still coming up on the website asking you to text the number for your code :mad:

Edit: Just checked and in the T&C it says the offer closes on the 30th April - you'd think they would update it though!
