Advice re coil

I'm due to have a coil fitted for the first time on Tuesday because although I have been on the pill I've been experiencing spotting and want to come off. I've been taking the pill continously for the last month as advised by gp but in the last few days I've had really heavy spotting. My question is can they fit the coil if I'm spotting or will I have to wait?

As long as you arent bleeding heavily the coil can be fitted.
