Can anyone recommend a 'wash-off' style cleanser that also gets eye-makeup off?
The ones that I have treid so far usually leave a ring of smudgy mascara that I have to take off with a cotton pad and seperate eye-makeup remover. (The ones that don't work so well are Boots Botanic Mousse, Johnsons Mousse, Clarins rinse-off gentle cleanser, Nivea wash-off cleanser).

Try Tesco Vitamin E wash off cleanser, about 79p for a tube and it shifts my waterproof mascara.
Try moa or liz earle....both very good..

Could be that its working and that the spots are just the skin getting rid of the gunk and that in a few days your skin will be a lot better?
I doubt if theres anything in the product that would clog your skin to cause spots

I would bite the bullet and carry on for a few more days making sure that your muslin is spotlessly clean before use (I scald mine under some very hot water and let it cool enough to handle before wringing out an using) and see if the spots dont go.
If you do think that the Cleanse and polish isnt for you - send it back for a refund

No - not when compared to other high end products - yes if you are only ever used to buying supermarket products.
Best place to buy as a newbie - QVC. Two reasons - A ) they do lots of trail size packs where you can try lots of different products in the range without breaking the bank and B) they have a 30 day no quibble money back guarantee which means use the product for 30 days (use it all up if you want) then send it back (empty containers if thats the case) and get a full refund
Other then that its her website or some John Lewis stores and an ebay outlet (which isnt that cheap tbh)

Some peoples skin purges with the new cleanser. On the other hand, some people find the cocoa butter in the cleasne and polish clogs their skin up and causes bumps. If the spots continue, I would say its the cocoa butter clogging your skin.

Tesco do a cleanse and polish cleanser (its about 4 pounds), rather than washing it off you use a damp muslin cloth (although I found a facial microfibre cloth worked just as well). Although if thats still pricey and you're on a strict budget then (I learned this from a nurse I met whilst in hospital that had the best skin I'd ever seen and she was in her late 50's) use Tesco Vitamin E cleanser (the one you'd normally take off with cotton wool), splash face with warm water, pour a 50p sized blob of the cleanser into your hand and massage it all over your face and neck. Take a clean white face cloth (she used Tesco Value ones and just stuck them in the washing machine) and dip it into warm water and wring it out and use this to wipe away the cleanser, splash with warm water again then cool (not cold) water and pat your face and neck dry and follow with your usual moisturiser (she used baby lotion!).

To Lady A, could the spots on the chin also be coinciding with an unclear digestive system.
spots on chin are usually to sluggish bowel & digestive system or hormonal/time of months.
anyway, i like the clinique foaming wash. a little goes a long way. expensive but lasts me 7months/tube!
you only need a tiny amount and lather/foam it before washing, and massage into eyes & lashes well.

Another vote for Tesco vitamin e as a cheapo cleanser. I use it in the morning in the shower and Liz Earle C & P a couple of times a week when soaking in the bath - when I first started using C&P I got a couple of spots on my chin but this stopped pretty quickly (figured it was all the oil coming out of my chinny chin chin).

I'm about to try www.theoilcleansingmethod.com (http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com) . Simply use castor oil mixed with olive oil - cheap as chips (almost literally)! Its a bit more involved than simply using a facewash though. I have trouble with mascara lingering too. I'm currently using an Estee Lauder facewash for dry skin which is OK (but I need to give my eyes a lot of gentle rubbing) - I pick up the small tubes of the more expensive washes from car boot sales over the summer.

Personally I love dermalogica ultracalming cleanser - I use it for face and eyes (which is what it's made for). I buy online from jersey beautycompany and it costs about £28 for 500ml bottle which lasts 6-12 months as you only need such a small amount. I find this the best value for money. I have tried lots of other ranges and always gone back to this.
I have also tried the Tesco version of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish and the smell was revolting!!I am not a fan of Liz earle - the moisturiser I bought smelt so perfumed, to the point it actually put me off it. I also see that perfume is one of the ingredients listed on the back so not sure how "natural" her products really are. The website only lists the natural ingredients, not everything. This is why I was confused when I read the ingredients list. However, I have not used the cleanse and polish so can't be sure.

Philosophy Purity made simple is the best cleanser i have ever tried. Its a cleanser, toner and make up remover all in one. I just use it in the shower and then moisturise when i get out. It is pricey compared to other products but worth it for me as nothing else i have tried has been as effective. HTH

Almond oil is a great natural cleanser and helps regulate the skins oils.It also takes eye make up off.
I just massage it in, leave for a while then using a muslim cloth to remove.
I usually splash my face with water afterwards and my skin is lovely and soft.
Its also cheap from local health shops- mine sells it for about £2 odds.
A lot of beauticians recommend cleansing your face twice to get rid of make up.
You could also try soap & glory as there range is really good and they do a cleanser, sometimes Boots have specials on.
