View Full Version : Ladies only question - pelvic floor exercisers
Anyone recommend these? I keep forgetting to do the conventional exercises and prefer idea of a thing that you use twice a day and 'does' them for you.
Thanks - and hope this query doesn't cause offence....

My partner has tried 2 different "things" as you call them to exercise her pelvic floor and didn't find either particularly efective or comfortable. She had much more success with an exercise DVD that is aimed specifically at strengthening the floor.
Have you tried pilates? If you use a jumpboard on a pilates machine it is amazing how much you feel the area strengthen after just one session!

AFAIK, pelvic floor exercisers are weighted cones which you insert and hold in place using your pelvic floor muscles, they don't do the work for you.
The best way to remember to do your exercises is to link them with something you do regularly through the day, if you have a baby then feed times are often a good time. The beauty of Kegel exercises is that you can do them any time and nobody knows :rotfl:

There are loads of different things on the market, so really it depends on what sort of thing you're after. I really like the toner balls. Usually made of silicone, weighted to move as you do. Your body then subconsciously tightens around them to hold them in. There's no chance of losing them, but you know what I mean!
If you want a recommendation, PM me and I'll send you a link to the ones I got. There are loads and loads of different ones, but I prefer to buy on receommendation.
