Hi, I've been having a recurring problem, periodically, my engine overheats and the water/coolant in the radiator starts boiling, any idea what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance!!!

could be the thermostat stuck closed, or the radiator could be blocked

Which of these will be the cheapest and which the most expensive, reason I'm asking is it's a P reg Vauxhall Combo worth about £350, no point is spending a fortune, be better off getting a new motor if it's too expensive!

Thermostat is the cheapest, especially if you do it yourself

Don't forget a fan that isn't coming on!!
& you'll have the head gasket problem, sooner, if the fault hasn't already done so.
Have you been topping up the coolant?
Have you got water in the oil - is it looking as if the dipstick has INCREASED the level markings - you probably won't be able to actually identify water/oil on the stick, just this increase in level.
