My dh will be 50 next summer and I really want to make this special for him. He's always wanted to drive a jag and I'm wondering about booking him either one of those driving 'experience' red letter day type things on a race track somewhere or hiring a jag for a couple of days for us to drive to somewhere lovely. Has anyone had any experience of doing either of these things and/or suggestions for making it special but moneysaving? The one slight difficulty is that as he is 6'5" he is precluded from many of the 'gift day expeiences'.

Hello Nenen

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board where it should get more responses.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1009335#post1009335)) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com (abuse@moneysavingexpert.com).

Regards

Hi Nenen,

I just looked through some track days and you're right, however I found the below Lotus racing experience with a max height of 6'6", if you click below then go back to the list of experiences, it may take a while to go through them all but you may find another with a better height restriction:

Also there's a 25% off code for buyagift here (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1341603) :D

P.S: I just found their skidpan experience (http://www.buyagift.co.uk/Product/Id/304/Name/Skidding!_All_Angles_-_All_Action_Experience)has a max height of 6'5" - I'd recommend this, it's great fun and gives you the confidence that you can handle a car losing control.
