Hi everyone!
When a car goes into repair to the dealer (in this case it is Renault!), do they have to provide the customer with another car while the repairs are taking place with their original car? Or this is only the case if the repairs are taking a long time? If so, how long is classed as reasonably long time for them to provide another vehicle?

Is the repair being done under warranty, is the repair from an accident and are the insurance company paying for it. You can negotiate a courtesy car but i dont think you can demand one.

Can I ask why you think you should be entitled to a courtesy car? Usually a cc has to be arranged/agreed with garage, most only have limited number.

There is no legal entitlement to a courtesy car. It's a service that some garages offer but they're not obliged to.

Thank You to everyone for your replies.
Well Renault changed and fitted a new alternator a month ago and yesterday I had to take the car back to them because it is not charging the battery (that eventually battery goes dead) and is not giving out the correct voltage.
So the alternator is still under guarantee...

An alternator is only 30 minutes or so to change so I'd wait personally.

Tell them to check the crash sensor under the bonnet. THey often fail or don't make a good contact. Thus draining the battery...
