Helloooo, this is my first thread on this forum, so hi everyone!

I am trying to be more money conscious as I am now on a much lower wage and the economy has gone all o'er place (I take it you've all noticed)!

I had a big clean up yesterday of all my beauty bits... and found that I have enough half used body lotions, shower gels, makeup and shampoos to get me through the next couple of years, and I'm bound to get even more for christmas!

But one thing I find myself spending a lot on is deodorant. Unfortunately I am one of those people who does perspire...I can't get away with wearing the same garment twice, and so I have to use deodorant, and I still get unsightly patches. Can anyone recommend a way of not spending a fortune on it?! I usually buy whatever's on offer, 2-4-1 or 99p but I get through it so BLIMMIN' quickly! What are those deodorant bars like that you get from places like Lush? are they economically friendly and do they work?!

Here is my tip for health and beauty buying.... register on www.wepromiseto.com (like quidco) and then register your main card with them. You can then get 3% cashback when you shop at Superdrug (and a few other high street places)! I use my egg money card so I get an extra 1% there too- and I think the main reason we're all here is because we know that every little helps!

Thanks you

I only use one brand of deodorant Sure woman deodorant stick. My boyfriend uses it to its the best one around. Does smell quite unisex if you get the fresh one. It does the job better than others i think i am average in perspire stakes and 24hrs later the i can still be smelling fresh!

I know it's not quite what you asked for, but

Boots 24 hour anti persp/deodorant spray at 99p was the Which best buy I believe. I buy this for me and OH and we find it is very good. It is often on 3for2 or bogof and so I stock up then. (It's the one with a big 24 on the front)

sadly its one of those things you always need.

Why not buy it at boots and then you'll gradually get a free one with the points. Then normally they notice what you buy and send you an advantage card thing with some money off deodrant.

Thats what they did when i bought condoms, sent me a thing saying i could get 20p off a pack of boots own or whatever. I was embarassed back then in my late teens when my mum read it over.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1009335#post1009335)) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com (abuse@moneysavingexpert.com).

It's not the cheapest deodrant out there but after trying loads of different ones I stick to Mitchum now, I used to use the solid one but after a recomendation on here I've switched to the roll on,it's still working the next morning before I get in the shower again !

Having used Mitchum for years and loved it I seemed to suddenly dislike the smell and find it less effective. I hav started using Dove which I get in the suprmarkt for a pound a roll on, cheaper than Boots, but somtimes the Boots offers make it worth while. I have used the original, silk dry and ...another one, sorry can't remember, but they hav the same 'cleaness' of scent I used to like in Mitchum and are very effective.

Re having loads of things left in half used bottles I recently did a sort out too, and took one shampoo bottle and squeezed a number of different shampoo bottle left overs into it. (all fairly nice shampoos too) and passed it on to DH. :) I did the same with the conditioners, although I'll use that more than him I guess, but its much less manky than little dregs, even with my 'nicer' brands thats somehow lack lustre, but the full mixed bottle has a pleasing economy about it. :)

The last squeeze of showr gels I have put in a pump dispnser to use and hand wash, and I'll be starting on moistursers soon; too many bottles, too little space.

Hey hey

Boots have an offer on at the moment for buy one get one free on 12s condoms and Lubes. So you can get many different selections of 12s and lube, different 12s etc but if you choose boots own multi ribbed condoms 12s they are £5 a box so on the offer you can get 4 boxes for a tenner, or many more depends how much you want to spend! Awesome offer i reckon!!:hello:
