Horners Syndrome?

Has anyone heard or been diagnosed with Horners Syndrome? A family member has been sent for some test's as the doctor thinks this they may be suffering with this, it came on with a droopy eyelid and non reactive pupils.

I've looked it up on the internet and it can sometimes be caused by nothing at all, but sometimes its a underlying symptom for something more serious, hence the need for all the scary tests. I assuming if it was something serious they would be suffering with other symptoms but they are not, just need some advice to put my mind at rest as the test results don't come back for another week!

This is also known as, or at least is similar to, Bell's Palsy, I believe.

Sometimes can be cured with anti-biotics (this is what happened when my cat had it. I know we're not the same as animals, but the vet told me it was exactly the same as human Horners/Bells).

This is incorrect. Bell's Palsy is a different condition that can be treated with a course of antivirals and steroids although the evidence for this is inconclusive.

Horner's syndrome is not a diagnosis as such. It describes a clinical picture - there are a variety of conditions that cause it.

I would await the test results but if you want a simple explanation as to the pathology behind it then the wikipedia article is reasonable.
