Help Please: Run out of nail varnish remover

Hi I have just discovered that i have run out of nail varnish remover, and i am going out in a couple of hours, I don't want to drive to the shops to get some more as its too far and would be a waste of petrol. Do any of you guy's have any idea's of what i could use instead. I have got some meths and have found some turps in the shed. could i use that instead? Thanks for any replies.

put fresh nail varnish over the top and whilst it is still wet wipe it off (wet wipes are very good for this), and the underlayer will come with it

I usually just put a fresh coat over the top to cover the chips, it's not that noticeable.
