I wonder if anyone can help.
My N reg Fiesta only came with one key and having had a friend drive off with it in his pocket tonight, I realise I really need to get a spare.
I've never had to do this before - do I just go to Halfords or a key cutters and get them to copy my key? or is it more complicated than that?
I don't have an immobiliser or central locking.
Many thanks
:)

I had a N reg Fiesta Mk3... from memory you should have two normal keys and a red key.
The red key is a master that can have clones taken from it cheaply... without that its a more complicated issue.
Does your key have a small cut out on its top with different indentation? I think that would indicated if it has electronics in it (expensive to clone without the master) or not (very cheap to clone).

Any key maker will make you one ,providing he has the right blank, which should be no problem.
I have had loads made in the years before alarms and immobilisers,it will cost three or four quid.

as others have said these keys are easily copied by any key maker.if you have the red key it will be easier.

Hi I bought a second hand Ford Fiesta Y Reg with only one key, which is the remote control, and I need to get a spare. I have looked into getting a replacement but locksmiths have told me its impossible and Ford say it will cost me about £120 or more just for an ordinary spare - not remote. Can anyone tell me if I can get a cheap spare and whether I would need to programme it?

As you do not have the master key (these are not remote keys and usually have a blue or red top on the key) you will need to get another key cut and then get the new key programmed into your car by Ford (see my other post to your thread)
