The message actually says the 'office' is closed, not 'offer' - but it does sound like she is saying offer :)

Will try again during hours as above. Thanks.

What's actually in the pack?

My little boy should really have started trying by now, but he thinks the only reason to sit on the potty or toilet is so he can "rub vigorously" :o

As in: "It's mine, I can wash it as fast as I like?"

Be very, very glad he hasn't learnt to... (how shall I put this?)

You know how you can stretch the neck of a balloon to make it squeak? Well, without creating TOO graphic a picture for you, you can generate a fascinating stop-and-start fountain effect, which is apparently irresistably hilarious when you are male and three years old! ;D

(P*ssing on the computer was another one of his adventures when small. I'm only glad there were no ill-effects, either for him, or the computer!)

Ordered 2 today - I asked him what was in the pack and he said there was a Door Handle thing - Like the do not disturb sign, also a little passport book with stickers in and when they have used the toilet you give then a sticker, when they have washed there hands they get another one etc.

Sounds like a useful little tool. Thanks for this

I phoned up and some women told me to go on the Pampers website and the promotion was on there. I couldn't see any sign of it there, so phoned again and got a man who rather gruffly questioned "You phoning about the kandoo pack?". I'm guessing they're getting more than the usual amount of phonecalls thanks to this forum.

Anyway, got three in the end.

He also likes to lie back in the bath and pour water onto it. We tried him in pants the other day, just to see his reaction. Before he started leaving puddles everywhere, he just strutted round the house holding his "equipment" proudly!!!

Anyway, just rang and ordered. He asked how many, I said, how many can I have, and he said the maximum was 3 - so I said - okay, I'll have 3 then!!

He also said that you could get them from the Pampers site - said if I'm registered with them, I should have had an e-mail with the offer on. I am registered with them - get vouchers through the post, but not had anything through e-mail. May have to investigate more!!! ;)

Many thanks for the tip :D

Just phoned up and got a foreign lady who asked if I had recieved a letter, when i said no, she put me on hold to verify that i could have a pack!!! Then had to spell out everything - even the most obvious stuff!!! Never mind it is on its way. Now we can seriously start thinking about the dreaded potty training as i keep putting it off :-[

Christmas is soon folks - can't wait xxxxx

Thanks for this. Have just ordered my packs. The lovely man asked how many I'd like and in the same breath said I could have a maximum of 3. I asked if I'd need 3 and he replied I'm not sure so you'd like 3 then. How could I refuse!

This will come in very handy as my youngest is 21 months so the joys of potty training are just round the corner!! ;)

I am assuming the above news article is just what I am about to tell you but please be careful when using kandoo or similar as we decided to try these for my little one who is nearly three as we were struggling to make him use the toilet. These did the trick they made him feel special with his own little loo roll.

Only problem was 3 months later sewerage started to spill into the garden and we were told it looked like baby wipes causing the blockage, but as we don't use baby wipes I assume this is Kandoo!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily for us we live in a council house but I assume had we been private we would have had to pay to unblock the system.

Please be careful and watch the little tike as they like to just wipe and flush, wipe and flush, wipe, wipe, wipe oh and a little wipe again just to make sure it's clean.

No, I don't think it's a scam, it's actually procter and gamble that you a phoning. They would have to ask for your permission to use your details in the future if that was their intention. So I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Just wondered exactly what these KANDOO things were and did a search.

I found this warning, so please take note.

There’s a new product on the market, advertised on the packet with a picture of a frog wiping his bum. Well, that about sums it up I’m afraid. When the new “Kandoo” baby wipes came out a few months ago, we thought “yippee!” –a great new product which encourages young children to be nicely independent, they can go to the toilet and wipe without wasting loads of toilet paper (like the Andrex advert).

Well, that’s the theory. However, in practice, as we well know, do not believe everything you see in adverts. Along comes our daughter, Lucy, now just over 4 years old. We had been trying, in vain, for her to become more independent in the “toileting” department. To try and encourage her further, we bought 2 packs of these new Kandoo wipes. Basically, we told her to use some toilet paper first, then use a couple of the Kandoo wipes, to finish off. The packaging advises flushing no more than 5 Kandoo wipes down the toilet at once.

Lucy had been doing this procedure quite successfully for about 3 weeks, and got quite a way down the packet of Kandoos. In the meantime, I visited my parents in Derbyshire for a week or so, leaving my wife and Lucy on their own. A few days into my relaxing break, I received a phone call with my wife in a blind panic, shouting “there’s sewage all over the back garden!!” After calming her down and running through the procedures, I wasn’t going to cut my relaxing break too short, so as we have 2 toilets in the house which feed through separate drainage pipes, I advised on using the other toilet. We also share an outside drain with our neighbour, so I advised to pass the message onto her.

Prior to all this, we had recently had a new drainage channel cut as we have had a new kitchen sink put in. I automatically blamed the kitchen fitters, so rang them up in a rage. They visited the next day, and looked around, and as always, said “Noth ing to do with us, our drain pipe is fine.” (as all workmen do).

When I returned from my break, I donned my overalls, wellies, rubber gloves and clothes peg on nose and did some s**t shovelling first of all. I then removed the various drain covers and found that the drain was indeed well and truly blocked. Luckily, my neighbour had a set of flexible “rods”, so I set about feeding those into the drain and wiggling them around. Eventually, the blockage cleared, a quick hose down later and all toilet facilities were returned to normal again! During my rodding, I couldn’t believe how many of the Kandoo baby wipes were floating around the mess (sorry if you’ve just eaten!!) and that they had lodged along the pipework, not disintegrated at all.

Since then, we have not flushed the wipes down the toilet, and have not experienced any further drainage problems! I decided to telephone the “Pampers Careline” and share my experiences with them. The lady was not very helpful, stating that “we have had no other complaints of this nature” (well, they all say that!). She then asked me for the batch number of the product, and said that she would send a pre-paid envelope for me to send in a report, preferably from a qualified plumber!!

On reflection, what I should have done, was to take photographs of the drain whilst I was cleaning it, but you don’t really think of that when you’re knee deep in s**t!!

I remember a while ago when the “Charmin” toilet paper first came out, apparently that blocked up people’s drains and they had to completely redesign the product. Whether or not anything will become of my complaint, I don’t know, but I suggest you watch this space, and if any dooyooers have similar problems with the Kandoos, I would like to hear from you, and so would the Pampers Careline lady!

In the meantime, I suggest you don’t flush this prod uct down the loo, unlike the frog on the packet, if you use baby wipes either throw them in the bin, or use the adult versions, like the moist Andrex wipes.

Advantages

lets children become more independent

leaves your toddler nice and clean

come in a handy dispensable box

Disadvantages

Blocks your drains!

I got a pack from Kandoo. It didn't include any wipes but had some stickers and a booklet and a voucher for £1 off wipes (Boots only.) Think this was a promotion through Boots though, so might not have been connected to the post on here?

Must have been a CGI frog, 'cos no self-respecting frog I know would have taken bags of money (or flies) to advertise bottom wipes!

useful for frogs maybe
Not useful for us at all - we use a lilypad and then have a good swim around the pond/lake/river.

Am considering bringing a lawsuit against pampers (who I believe are behind the Kandoo brand) for implying that frogs use these wipes :p

Joe_Totale

The reason these wipes can cause proplems is due to "dispersal time"

DISPERSAL TIME

Sainsbury’s low price (3 minutes)
Sainsbury’s recycled 4 minutes
Andrex regular (peach) 6 minutes
Velvet Quilted 15 minutes
Charmin Comfort 18 minutes
Andrex aloe vera 26 minutes
Izal Medicated 30 minutes
Newspaper 60 minutes
Andrex moist wipes 5 days
Kandoo children’s moist wipes 5 days

Alan McLaughlin, a spokesman for British Gas, which recently bought the drain company Dyno-Rod and carried out the survey, said: “The explosion in luxury toilet paper is placing toilets under considerable strain. Some paper takes hours to disintegrate. This results in our plumbers being called out more often.”

The villains appear to be the new “moist” papers, popular in countries such as Britain and the US where bidets are rare. They can survive five days in water while traditional varieties vanish within minutes.

The heroes are the least glamorous rolls. Sainsbury’s recycled paper took four minutes to disintegrate and cheaper supermarket paper only three minutes. The bad news for comfort lovers is that Izal performed impressively, vanishing in 30 minutes. One paper aimed at children, Kandoo, failed to break down even after five days.

Nearly put the phone down when a man answered my call!! lol! Then I decided if he was rude to me I'd ask to speak to his manager - it is a General Promotions company afterall. Hubby just phoned and he's got something relating to a Potty Promotion coming!!

Looks like lots of parcels in the near future!

Thanks for this.

I just rang twice (once to my address & once to my mums)& asked for "Kandoo promotion" the 1st woman was a bit grumpy & only asked for my details. The 2nd woman was nosier "where did I see the offer" I lied & said "my friend e-mailed me!" then she queried me again on what I want so I said "Kandoo promotion but I'll have any other samples she can offer!". No mention of how many packs by either woman :(

Also if they don't turn up complain & they will send you a voucher for at least a fiver (that's what happened when I never got my free sample of Sunnies).

I read this article a while ago which you might want to think about if you regularly use this type of childrens wipes... they may cost you more than you think!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4032595.stm

I telephoned this morning and got a snooty man (not snotty!) saying "good morning, Procter and Gamble" to which I said "I am calling about the Kandoo Promotion". "Kandoo Promotion? And what promotion is that madam". I said "for the free Kandoo wipes samples". He replied "That, madam" (very stroppily I thought) "is a MYTH...there are NO samples just POTTY TRAINING KITS to HELP your child with their toilet needs". I said "ok I'll have one of them then", gave my details and got off the phone before he got any stroppier! I felt like saying "Tescos own version are cheaper and on BOGOF at the moment anyway", but I didnt!! I'm surprise he didnt check that I had a child that needed toilet training before giving me a POTTY TRAINING KIT! xx

Perhaps the name of this thread could be changed seeing that it has been established that there are no wipes in this promo, it's a potty training kit!!! Would stop getting people's hopes up unnecessarily? :)

I can't find it on the pampers site. Is it still worth ringing the tel no? I have just started potty training so this would come in very handy.

i have just called this number - it is the proctor and gamble promotion help line - but they are NOT NOT NOT doing any free wipes. They have no idea why this is going around at the moment...

(damm - these things are expensive, so free ones would have been good!!)

so i dont understand how you lot got the stuff, and i didn't? bloke i poke to said he had no idea what i was talking about.... maybe he was fed up with people phoning...?

Willow : I knew it. I knew it. Well, not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn`t know

Yeah, I never received the potty training kit the first time round, so emailed them last week. They apologised and sent me one (it's not that great, really) but didn't enclose any vouchers!!! :( Very disappointed, Procter & Gamble are usually very generous with their coupns...
