can you hear the buzz of the motor when you press the button?

If you can't hear the buzz of the motor when you try to flush the screen (assuming you do normally hear it), it's most probably the electrics fuse which has blown; Renaults aren't great for electrics reliability...

I had a car where the washer bottle was under the front wheel arch and every couple of weeks a load of crud (with salt in winter to make it conductive when damp) would build up on the washer motors to stop it working..... a quick spray up under there with a hose usually fixed it for 2-3 weeks. The following spring I took it all apart, cleaned all the muck off and gave it a liberal coating of grease and shoved it back - no problems the following winter.

Check fuse, then wiring to washer jet motor, then filter gauze on end of washer jet, then for blockages in the pipe. Does the motor buzz?

usually the connectors on the pump on the washer bottle corrodes, clean up connectors on motor, chop off the connector & crimp a couple of new spade connectors on the wires and reconnect, ensuring the pump works correctly.

i am sure the motor buzzes...could this be because some days back (2 weeks ago maybe) i mixed salt in water and filled the tank...?

C**p somewhere in the system

1) clean jets with a pin or needle
2) try and follow the tubing and disconnect at intervals to see if the water pimps to there

Assuming you've filled it of course ! :-) I did have a MALE friend who had similar problems and it turned out to be an empty rear bottle - he'd filled the front one up 3 times but never the rear!

You can clear a jet with a pin.

There is another reason. If the temperature was cold the screenwash may have frozen. That has happened to me.

With our Mondeo........ if the water freezes in the pipe between the bottle and the screen, when the pump runs it blows the pipe off the motor/ or a joint parts. When you have the jet motor running see if water is coming out somewhere else under the bonnet / car. A pipe joint may have come apart.

No luck at all....i opened the bonnet yesterday, sat with my tools...i ran the washer for about 2-3 minutes but not a drop of water was under the car or anywhere under the bonnet though the water reservoir is full..the water level in it dont even go down... . i even tried to locate the motor but i seriously could not. its under under God knows what all and its dificult to get to the motor...

The motor is normally attached to the washer bottle. They have a filter gauze on the end of them and this can block. That's what happened to mine. Loads of noise but no water.
