Got this in a recent mailing from Sainsburys....

250 bonus points to tell us when your mobile contract end and more points when you switch to Vodafone


Text the last 11 digits of your Nectar card to 07786 201308


Once you do this, they send you a text in reply and then you reply to that with the expiry date of your contract ( in mm/yy ) format. You then get another text saying your points will be credited within 28 days.

T&Cs on the back of the voucher ..

SMS charged at standard rate. By texting them, you consent to Vodafone contacting you once with an offer...... you just say "No thanks" ( unless it's a good offer !!! )

So you get 250 points for the cost of 2 standard rate SMS messages.

there was a scam like this running in uni a few years back, all the person needs is the last 11 unique digits of your nectar card and they can re-program another and nick all your points

its VERY easy to do and to get away with,and the equipment to clone a card costs under £40 nowadays!,

I got this offer too - it comes with an update of nectar points from sainsburys.

I've had mine registered for quite a while now and had no problems and the points are added every month following payment of my bill

i had this problem so i txt 07786201308 with my contract end date and it worked

Do you think it works based on the Nectar card or the mobile number?
I am sure most MSE's have at least 6 sims lying round that came free with a quids worth of credit....
So load 'em into your phone and keep texing - 250 points is probably better value than flogging 'em on eBay
