I'd prefer a managed fund, low charges and is it worth doing into an ISA ? My (limited) logic says the footsie is around 4000 and was 7000 two years ago. I'll invest £30 a month until the footsie hits 7000 then sell. With interest rates on the way down, cash may not be as attractive as it is now.

As far as I know most shares ISA funds require a minimum of £50/month. £30 isn't really enough to invest in shares, you're better off putting it in a cash ISA that pays around 6%. I think your logic regarding the FTSE100 is a bit flawed too...

M&G allow regular savings (including ISA) from £10/month.

Their index tracker is competitive (from a charge perspective).

Some of the other funds have front-loaded charges which you can only avoid by going to a fund discounter and investing at £50/month or more.
