Smaties - free stuff for lids

Sent off for this offer some time ago. Last week each of my three daughters got a letter saying due to high demand they weren't getting anything, all very upset as a replacement gift was promised if the mugs etc ran out.

Today three parcels turned up with all the stuff promised in the original offer - very nice, but why send out the upsetting letters? :confused:

TBH they didn't need to write to you at all... tehy could have just decided they haven't any left, and forgotten about you...
