Sounds stupid, doesn't it:D I've been wearing lenses(soft) for 7 years, but never had that happen to me. Rubbed an eye without care this morning and dislocated the lens, ok, can happen. The thing I can't understand is that it has dissapeared. I looked carefully all around, floor, every possible place, but didn't find it anywhere. I can't feel it in the eye either. Put on a new one. Still can't feel anything, just the eye a bit sore. In the past however(when I was only starting wearing them) I remember trying to get a lens out from sort of under eyelid after rubbing eye, I was well in panic as it seemed it would stay there forever :D . So now my question is is it possible to have a dislocated lens in your eye and not feeling it?
the missus had exactly the same thing yesterday, her eye was really sore after trying to get the lense out but failed - she thought it must have popped out & put another one in. However, she found it this morning in her hair after rubbing her eye, so I guess it'd been in her eye all along.

I've had lenses in the past that have folded themselves (with the help of my carelessly rubbing finger :o) into half and half again and lodged themself right up under my top eyelid. It can be a right beggar to get them out again.
Obviously the lens can't 'slip round the back' -we all know that :). I think that any lens left for more than a day in the wrong position would cause irritation, even the longer wear ones.
Here's a horror story to brighten your day. Years ago I wore two step cleansing lenses (cleaned in peroxide solution first and then neutralised in ...... errrr..... neutralising solution. One morning I forgot to neutralise and slapped a lens full of peroxide on my eyeball. PAIN!!!:eek::eek: Couldn't get the flammin' thing out.
No permanent damage done :o. I did look like this ;) for a while though.
Its not really posible to loose a lens in an eye. If a soft lens gets folded in half it can slip under the top lid and be difficult to find/remove however this is pretty uncommon. If you have a sore eye its probably caused by digging around trying to remove/find something thats not there. If the lens was under your top lid, you will probably feel it, and it will interfere with the next lens you put in, so its pretty obvious.

If you're worried you should pop into an optician just to put your mind at ease.
The other thing I find with lenses is if I close my eye and look downwards as far as possible and using my index finger, put some pressure at the very top of my eyelid then look up I can 'find' the lens...might be worht a try...

Thanks everybody for the replies! I actually didn't do anything about it, it's four days now and I believe if it was still in the eye I would feel it one way or another. Must have fallen out and dissapeared altogether lol!
