soap for cramp

[PURRING]

A pharmacist told me this old wives tale. Put a bar of soap at the bottom of your bed under the duvet to prevent cramp in feet and legs. Tried it last night and had a wonderful cramp free night's sleep.

How very strange I wonder how that works?

(Probably on the same principle as telling kids if they sit on a newspaper sheet on a coach, they won't be sick!)
