These new grade 'ultimate' and 'supreme' fuels claim to give you more miles to the gallon but cost about 5p per litre more than standard fuel.
So if I was to do 30,000 miles per year would it be better to buy the standard fuel or ultimate fuels??

As far as I know, the claim is that the car 'MAY' give improved economy. From what I have read on other forums and seen on TVs 'Fifth Gear', these fuels are higher octane so give the car a bit more oomph in terms of power. They are also meant to keep the engine cleaner.
The simplest solution is to run a few tanks and see if you notice a difference in the economy and see if the calculated difference is worthe the cost. Remember that even if your economy doenst improve, the extra few pence per litre is helping keep the engine runnng cleaner/better.
I used to have a Fiat Coupe Turbo and that always ran on the good stuff ... but for my Rover, I just look for cheapest possible fuel.
